Nioh 2: The Complete Edition Review – Nioh… Far… Wherever You Are

Nioh 2: The Complete Edition is the sequel to the already pretty incredible Nioh, released in 2017. Developed by Team Ninja, Nioh 2 takes the base the first game had already lain down and builds onto it, by adding extra mechanics to an already complex game. Originally released on the Playstation 4, this review is going to be about the PC complete edition. Nioh 2: The Complete Edition - A devilishly good time. As the first Nioh was one of my top games of 2017, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and see what new tasty bits they've added. At the time of writing, Nioh 2: The Complete Edition is available for purchase on Steam, and includes 3 DLC packs, absolutely stuffing the game with content to get through. Let's get down to the guts of it, shall we? Gameplay Nioh 2: CE is a third-per...

Animal Farm is a novel written by George Orwell. First published in 1945 the book tells the story of a group of animals on a farm who grow tired of being mistreated by the farmer. Hoping to free themselves from slavery to the humans, the pigs incite a rebellion with the other animals, citing that all animals are equal. The pigs eventually come to rule over the rest of the farm, claiming some animals are more equal than others. The story is a political satire and allegory of the corrupted socialism found in the USSR under Stalin. It's an animal eat animal world on Orwell's Animal Farm Orwell's Animal Farm is a video game adaptation of the novella. Baldur’s Gate 3 – Back from the Underdark

Baldur's Gate 3 is the latest entry in the storied Baldur's Gate franchise from Forgotten Realms. Developed and published by Larian Studios, Baldur's Gate 3 has big potential to be the next great RPG on PC. I received a key to take a deep dive into the early access release of the game, So without too much blithering, I'm just going to jump right in. Given that this is a look at the in-progress development of the game, there won't be a score at the end, just my honest opinions. Let's get down to brass tacks, shall we? Gameplay Baldur's Gate 3 is the latest turn-based tactical RPG from Larian Studios, the developers behind the brilliant Divinity: Original Sin games. Based on the 5e Dungeons and Dragons ruleset, Baldur's Gate 3 really captures the spirit of the tabletop dice rolling RPG an...

Tamarin – Cutesy Shootsy

Chameleon Games is a small studio made up of some Ex-Rareware developers founded in 2013. Their game, Tamarin was made to be reminiscent of 3D Platformer collectathons like Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64 or Jet Force Gemini. Developed for the PlayStation 4 and PC, Tamarin released on September 10th, 2020. For this review, I'll be taking a look at the PC version of the game, so let's get into it, shall we? "Explore, leap and shoot to save your family from the insect invasion! Leap with the agility of a tamarin as you journey into the Northern wilderness, in a world full of exploration, 3D-platforming and bug-splattering action!" - Steam Store Gameplay Tamarin is a 3d Platformer sometimes. Other times it's a third-person shooter. You begin the game with a short cutscene of a nice peaceful ...

Necromunda: Underhive Wars – Necromundane

There have been many games released set in the Warhammer 40k universe. There have been some particularly outstanding titles, but not all of them were winners. From RTS to shooters, and just about everything in between, Warhammer 40K has a huge library of games. Most recently released was Necromunda: Underhive Wars. Developed by Rogue Factor, and published by Focus Home Interactive for Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For this review, I'll be taking a look at the Playstation 4 version of the game. So let's roll up our sleeves and take a look. Deep below the nightmarish, polluted hive cities of Necromunda, in the twisted, vertiginous, dark tunnels of the Underhive, rival gangs fight to the bitter end for personal power, wealth, survival and the honour of their Houses. Only the stron...
Manifold Garden – Up Is Down And Down Is Up?

Manifold Garden – Up Is Down And Down Is Up?

Created as a debut title for William Chyr Studios by a small team of programmers, Manifold Garden is an interesting take on the puzzle-platformer adventure.  Take what you know about physics and toss it out the window. That knowledge is no good here. Up is not necessarily up, and down isn't always down.  Created by William Chyr, who wanted to create a puzzle game that he felt, as a player, he could finish. Manifold Garden was initially revealed with the name Relativity, referring to the M.C. Escher work that inspired it. There are a few behind-the-scenes type videos available on YouTube if you're curious about how this games impossible geometry was pulled off. Currently Manifold Garden is available on Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. PC and Mobile ports are being worked on. ...

Trackmania – Trackmildia

When I hear the word Trackmania, all I can think of are those really crazy looking tracks where all you have to do is press GO, and you'll race fairly automatically through a series of cool jumps and narrow holes. Admittedly this is my first foray into the Trackmania franchise, Though I've been interested for a long time. It's a franchise that's been ongoing for nearly two decades now, with various iterations and versions of the game released on a bunch of different platforms. The latest Trackmania is a remake of a previous title, called Trackmania Nations. It a free-to-play starter version or you can choose to subscribe to a yearly pass or buy the standard edition. Subscribing to the pass allows you access to all the online club events and social aspects, like customization of your car li...

Darius Cozmic Collection Arcade Review – Quarter Cruncher Supreme

The Darius Cozmic Collection Arcade features a series of arcade releases of the immensely popular shoot-em-up franchise. Often touted as one of the pioneers of the genre, Darius was unique in that its cabinets used three screens to create a longer visual range on which to play the game. Having a triple screen set up made for a very wide and eye-catching cabinet. Unfortunately, my local arcade growing up didn't have the funds to acquire such a machine. First released in 1987 by Taito Corporation, Darius set a high standard for Shmups(Shoot-Em-Ups). This is the second of two collections released for the Darius Franchise. I'm taking a look at the collection of Arcade releases on the Playstation 4, whereas the review for the Console collection can be found Here. Gameplay Darius Cozmic Collec...
