Inscryption It's more than just a card game I found the game to be a lot of fun and had a lot of fun playing it. Let us know in the comments below which of the four scribes was your favorite if you played it as well! Gameplay The gameplay is very simple at first and very easy to learn. There are three modes strangely. One is a new game where you start the story from the actual beginning. One is a continue where you continue a strange game left...

Defend The Rook – Xbox Series X Review

Chess. A traditional game as old as time (well 9th century Russia). Some traditions are made to last, King, Queen, Bishop, Knight, Rook and Pawn. But wait! What if the rule book was thrown out of the window and suddenly the rook was the most important character? So what if the others were now a Rogue, a Fighter and a Sorceress? What if the enemy were goblins, orcs, wolves, or giant mushrooms? Is this even chess any more? Well, One Up Plus has stomped all over tradition to make this happen in the form of Defend the Rook. Time to pack a bag full of tactics, skill, logic and mortar and see where this adventure takes me. Defend the Rook - It's a Castle, not a Bird! Can the few outwit, outgun and outplay the many? Time to bring it on and see what I am up against. My hopes are quite high as I ...

TerraScape – PC Preview

Developed by German company Bitfall Studios and published by Toplitz Productions, TerraScape has just hit early access. While Toplitz has published some fairly well-known games, Bitfall is the new kid on the block, with TerraScape being their first title. I'm always happy to see a new Indie burst onto the scene, so join me as I check out the early-access gameplay. Plan, Build, Score Bitfall has referred to TerraScape as a deck builder card game, with elements of puzzle and skill, strategic planning is key. Genuinely, I go into this one not knowing what to expect. Gameplay TerraScape is essentially a card-based city builder. Yea, that had me a little confused at first too, but let me explain. The game works on decks of cards. Being turn-based, players pull a card to place on the table, ...

It is now available in Early Access on PC via Steam with publishing by Skystone Games (Undying) and Surefire Games (Riftbreaker). Players can fight through dungeons solo or co-op, upgrading and building up their deck to bring down the paper armies of darkness once again. They May Be Paper, But They Still Do Damage in Hellcard If you have not yet had a chance to play Book of Demons, I sincerely hope you take the time to do so. It's a lot of fun, presents its own challenges and is easily worth the value. Knowing the fun I had in Book of Demons, I couldn't pass up the chance to play Hellcard too. I also will be sure to check out Book of Aliens in the future. I'm sure everyone has their own game serie...

Aces & Adventures – PC Review

Aces & Adventures is the latest release from  Yogscast Games (Golfie) alongside indie publisher Triple B Games. The game is a deckbuilding fantasy RPG where combat is powered by poker. Luckily for me, you only need to know the main combinations of hands available. The closest comparison I've played is Slay the Spire but Aces & Adventures definitely is making its mark on the deckbuilding genre. Aces & Adventures is available now on Windows PC. Aces & Adventures up's the ante in this high-stakes fantasy game I was excited to play Aces & Adventures as I'm a fan of the genre and Yogscast Games. If you're enjoying the game or excited to please leave a comment below about what you think. Gameplay Aces & Adventures takes place in Cardrasil, a fantasy land home t...

The Art of War: Card Game – PC Preview

The Art of War: Card Game is the newest release from publisher and developer Brightdawn Entertainment (A Walk in the Woods VR). It is a non-collectable deck builder card game set in a fantasy world with Game of thrones style machinations. I immediately felt the similarities to Gwent: The Witcher Card Game so I wasn't surprised when Brightdawn cited Gwent as inspiration. As well as bringing what they felt the genre was missing and a social game like Gwent, Magic: The Gathering or Yu-Gi-Oh! The Art of War is available now on PC but still in early access. There is also the upcoming tabletop version later in 2023. Sun Tzu who? There's a new The Art of War in town I'd love to hear what anyone of you think of The Art of War: Card Game so feel free to comment below. Gameplay The Art of Wa...

Superclub Review

Superclub is a football management simulation board game published by Superclub themselves. Released in 2020 it's a 2-4 player game that will test the greatest of friendships to see who is the best manager. This Superclub review is something a little new for us. Superclub - Who Will Be The Special One? Now it may just be me but I prefer a good old management football game. Much better than playing the latest FIFA anyway. Ever since I was a kid playing Championship Manager on the Commodore Amiga I've always loved the ins and out of running a football club. From tactics to scouting and buying players. Superclub gives you all that drama and then some in the form of a tabletop board game. So let's crack on with this Superclub review, shall we? If you enjoyed this review then why not check...

Deadwood 1876 Review

Designed by Travis Hancock and published by Asmodee China, Facade Games. Deadwood 1876 is a card game that pits you against friends to unlock safes and take as much gold as you can without dying. Thanks to our friends over that Facade Games we got the opportunity to play one of their card games and it wasn't a disappointment. There's something of a kid in all of us when it comes to playing card games. Throw in some dice mechanics and a theme of the wild wild west and you got yourself a winner.
