Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks – PS5 Review

After initially releasing into Early Access on PC, Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks is now racing onto consoles! Available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, is this multiplayer-focused combat racer worth a look for both 40k fans and newcomers? Let's take a look! Developed by Caged Elephant, Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks is available now, and priced at a very reasonable £15.99 on the PlayStation Store. Dese Speed Freeks Are Gunna WAAAGH! The Warhammer 40k universe is big. Like, really bloody big. I'll admit, I don't know all there is to know about this long-running franchise, so I pose a question to you, reader! Which 40k game would you recommend? From real-time strategies to boomer shooters, the series has had a plethora of videogames across many genres. I've played a fair few...

Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar – PS5 Review

Story of Seasons, or Harvest Moon, is a long-running franchise dating back to the SNES days. I personally didn't discover the series until Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life for the GameCube in 2004. Since then, I've been a pretty casual fan, having played a number of titles over the years. Now, after a nine-month timed exclusivity on Nintendo Switch 1 & 2 and PC, Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S! What's interesting, though, is that this is actually a remake of a previous game! The original was released on the Nintendo DS under the name Harvest Moon DS: Grand Bazaar. Developer Marvelous Inc. has completely revamped this 18-year-old portable title for modern consoles. But is it any good? Let's take a look in our Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar ...

Hollow Body – PS5 Review

The third-person, survival horror game Hollowbody, is making its debut on the console stores. I'll be checking out the PS5 version for you. I don't know what to expect, besides the game being tagged as short, and tech-noir. We do get the option to play either fixed camera or modern third person. For this review I went with modern. If you are looking to pick up Hollowbody, it's currently priced at £12.99 on the PSN Store, or £11.04 with a PS+ subscriber discount until June 5th. I am trying to find Sasha. Gameplay We take control of Mica, a woman who is on the search for her friend Sasha, who went missing. Hollowbody is pretty short, so I won't say much of the story. Most of the gameplay is Mica walking around areas and stumbling across documents or items. Items that you will use elsewh...

It Reaches – PS5 Review

It Reaches is a new body-cam horror game coming to PS5. So, of course, I will be checking it out. The game is developed by Emberflight Games, and has us taking the role of a cop. Who is called out to check out something? It Reaches is out now on the PlayStation Store, and you can purchase it by clicking here. Sorry I'm all thumbs. Gameplay We hit up an old abandoned hospital as Officer Thompson, who is responding to a call. On arrival, and after having a look around he is quickly pulled into what looks to be a long night. As now, Thompson needs to fight, hide, and run away from the various horrors he will encounter in It Reaches. There is combat, but ammo isn't scarce, so there isn't much need to worry about that front. And the only real threats to deal with are these little tree thin...

Directive 8020 – PS5 Review

In space, no one can hear you scream. That may be for the best when it comes to the horrors inside Directive 8020. Developed by Supermassive Games, the game was released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on the 12th May 2026. Supermassive know their cinematic horror, so prepare for the return of branching choices, gruesome deaths and Hollywood faces. The Standard Edition costs £39.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition increases the price to £49.99. So does it get off to an astronomical start, or is it just a waste of space? A Fear Orbit Experience Directive 8020 feels like an unholy union of Alien and The Thing. A cramped spaceship? Check. A hostile shape-shifting threat? Also check. Growing paranoia making every crewmate feel suspicious? Triple check. The setup captures the suffocating tensi...

Necrophosis: Full Consciousness – PS5 Review

The team that brought you The Shore is now releasing their newest title, Necrophosis, on the PS5. With this edition being called Necrophosis: Full Consciousness, and will be priced at £15.99 on the PlayStation Store. I did play the demo a little ways back and loved how it looked, and I'm now here to see the whole product. I think I'm growing a "Consciousness" Gameplay We awake in a small crypt like room with no real clue why we are here. Most of Necrophosis' story is given through dialogue from the entities you meet along your journey, with some extra added context coming via tablets or effigies. Beside the way they put things I think the story was rather easy to understand after you listen to the first couple of beings. For gameplay, the whole thing essentially has you walking around...

NITRO GEN OMEGA – PS5 Review

Giant mechs will always have a place in my heart. No matter the medium, mechs are inherently cool. That's why I was very excited to get my hands on NITRO GEN OMEGA. This slick, anime-inspired title has you take control of your own customisable crew of mech pilots in a post-apocalyptic world. Developed by DESTINYbit, this stylish tactical RPG looks like it could be something special. Is that the case, though? It certainly looks the part, but is there enough substance here to match the impressive visuals? NITRO GEN OMEGA is out right now, and is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. NITRO GEN OMEGA: Style and Substance! AI has overrun the world. Humanity is barely surviving. Sounds eerily familiar so far... Survivors ...

Hydroneer – PS5 Review

If you're a PC gamer, chances are you've played a mining automation sandbox videogame before. There are a lot out there, with many seemingly having something to set them apart from the rest. But which category does Hydroneer belong to? An innovative title for the genre, or something that does little to showcase itself? Developed by Foulball Hangover, Hydroneer is finally available for consoles! Originally released on Steam in 2020, it has seen a plethora of updates over the years. Now, Hydroneer is available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S! Hydroneer, Hydro Far, Hydro Wherever You Are Hydroneer is actually a title I'm rather familiar with despite never having played it. The YouTube channel Let's Game It Out made several videos on it that usually resulted in it slowing to a cr...

Coffee Talk: Tokyo – PS5 Review

They say good things come in threes: The Musketeers, primary colours and Egyptian God cards to name a few. So when I heard that Toge Productions had teamed up with Chorus Worldwide for a third entry in the cosy late-night conversations experience that is the Coffee Talk series, I was ready. This time, the series swaps Seattle for Tokyo, trading the American midwest for the bright lights of one of the busiest cities in the world. Coffee Talk: Tokyo launches on 21st May 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch and Steam for a reasonable £12.99. So, does this latest blend hit the spot like a perfectly brewed espresso, or is it about as appealing as Monkey Spit Coffee? A Place to Venti The core premise of Coffee Talk: Tokyo stays true to previous entries as each evening, you serve drinks and...
