Truck Driver: The Dutch Connection – PS5 Review

Developer Kyodai are back with their latest simulator: Truck Driver: The Dutch Connection. The follow-up to 2023's Truck Driver: The American Dream, this new entry see's you driving across a fictionalised area of the Netherlands. The game is available now on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for £34.99. This review is based around the PlayStation 5 version of the game. It's also worth noting that The Dutch Connection has already had several patches since its release, so props to the developer for pushing out this many updates so soon after launch! Keep On Truckin' This will be my first Truck Driver game, and it's one I've been looking forward to! As a fan of practically every type of simulator game (Train Sim World being my true guilty pleasure), I was eager to get behind the whe...

Syberia Remastered – PS5 Review

Syberia, originally released in 2002, is a cult classic. The brainchild of the late Belgian comic artist Benoit Sokal, it combines steampunk and Art-Nouveau aesthetics with melancholic storytelling. 23 years later, Microids Paris and Virtuallyz Gaming present Syberia Remastered, launched on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on 6th November 2025. This was my first time playing the series as a whole. However I've played a click and point game before so I'm going to give it everything I've got. The remaster promises updated visuals, modern controls, and a few reworked puzzles. Does it live up to the hype, or is it just a dusty classic with a fresh coat of paint? A Journey of Rust and Snow In Syberia Remastered, you control Kate Walker, an American lawyer sent to the fictional town of Valadilè...

Wreckreation – PS5 Review

Developer Three Fields Entertainment knows a thing or two about wanton destruction. Their previous games, such as Dangerous Driving and Dangerous Golf, prove that sometimes, games simply about smashing stuff are fun! Now, though, the developer is attempting to think bigger, with Wreckreation. And by bigger, I mean open-world vehicular mayhem, of course! Wreckreation is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, priced at £34.99. This review will be based on the PlayStation 5 version, so pick up your DualSense because it's time to race! Wreck the Casbah It's immediately apparent, even from looking at screenshots, that Wreckreation bears more than a passing resemblance to 2008's Burnout Paradise. Which isn't too surprising, as many of the team had previously worked on that tit...

Satisfactory – PS5 Review

Well, here's a treat for console fans! Satisfactory, originally released into Early Access in 2019 before its 1.0 release last year, was a huge hit on PC. Garnering over 120,000 reviews and sitting at a "Very Positive" rating on Steam, it certainly seems to be a fan favourite! In fact our very own Jordan gave the game a Platinum Award in his PC review upon release! Now, developer Coffee Stain Studios has released this open-world, base-building, automation title onto consoles! Satisfactory is available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with added features for anyone who owns a PS5 Pro. In this review, we'll be checking out the PS5 version, which is out now and priced at £32.99. Much More Than Just Satisfactory? As always, my main focus on games ported to console is to see how well ...

Train Sim World 6 – PS5 Review

The Train Sim World franchise has established itself as the go-to experience for anyone wanting to drive a train without worrying about schedules and angry passengers. Dovetail Games continues to strengthen its reputation for realism with each release, giving aspiring trainspotters something they can truly get lost in. Train Sim World 6 continues this tradition while adding a few new twists of its own, including random train faults and in-station announcements that make the world feel more dynamic than ever. Developed by Dovetail Games, Train Sim World 6 launched worldwide on 30th September 2025, priced at £44.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Borderlands 4 – PS5 Review

Borderlands returns! Whilst this comes as no surprise, seeing as though the game has been out for a little while. It was greeted with much excitement amongst the Borderlands loving members of the Thumb Culture team. Although there was some trepidation hidden in the darkness. Well, Borderlands 4 has finally been released and if you know me, you know that I am a big fan of the franchise. Does Gearbox live up to my expectations, though? Let’s find out! GEARRRBOOOOOOOXXXX So, all installed on the PlayStation 5 and away we go, straight into the generally expected character creation screen. I’m excited! Gameplay The game starts out with the normal over the top introduction sequence, we get introduced to our playable characters and a few other people we are going to come up against on our ...

EA Sports FC 26 – PS5 Review

The nights are drawing in, the leaves are turning red, and Halloween is creeping closer, which can only mean one thing. EA Sports is back with the latest instalment of its 'kick the ball in the net' series; and especially for EA Sports FC 26, the stakes are higher than ever. Community frustration has reached boiling point, and this year could be make-or-break for the franchise. Every release brings the same question: “Should I wait for a sale?” With the last game hampered by clunky gameplay, poorly tuned mechanics, and an unforgiving Ultimate Team power curve, scepticism is understandable. EAFC 26 launched on 19th September 2025 for those who purchased the Ultimate Edition at £89.99, with the standard £69.99 version following on 26th September across PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xb...

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds – PS5 Review

The Sonic Racing series has always lived in the shadow (no pun intended) of its spiky mascot’s platforming roots, but over the years it has built a reputation for fast and chaotic fun. Recent entries tried new ideas, like vehicle transformations in All-Stars Racing Transformed or the team strategy in Team Sonic Racing. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds takes these ideas further and adds its own twist: the ability to warp into different mini tracks in the middle of a race. Developed by Sonic Team, The game launched worldwide on 25th September 2025, costing around £54.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version coming soon. Players who bought the Deluxe Edition (£79.99) could play a few days early, starting 22nd September. So, does this new twist keep th...

Frostpunk 2 – PS5 Review

I was a big fan of Frostpunk when it released on consoles in 2019. Fast forward six years later, and console gamers finally get their hands on Frostpunk 2. Developer 11 bit studios first released their follow-up title in 2024 for PC (Thumb Culture even reviewed that version), garnering positive reviews across the board. But how does the console version fare? Is this city building, survival title a big improvement over the original game? Let's find out! Put a Jacket on; It's a Bit Nippy Outside! It may be worth noting that this is the first time I've played Frostpunk 2, so there won't be much comparison to the PC version. If you've got any thoughts or opinions on the original release, I'd love to hear them! Let me know in the comments below, but for now, it's on with the review! Game...

Gears of War: Reloaded – PS5 Review

The iconic alien horror shooter best known for its over-the-top gore, its unironic use of macho bravado, and its high-adrenaline action is back (once again). That's right this is a review of Gears of War: Reloaded. The Coalition, the Xbox Studios developers behind this gory chainsaw party, could have delivered just another lazy, half-hearted remastered game like we have unfortunately grown used to in recent years, looking at you The Last of Us. Instead, they have delivered a significant visual upgrade compared to its 2015 remastered Xbox version. Welcome to the War (again)! Nearly 20 years since its exclusive release on the Xbox 360, Gears of War has arrived on the PlayStation 5. The remastered game, rebranded as Gears of War: Reloaded, signifies the end of an era known as the console wa...
