What The Golf – PS5 Review

During the 27th Annual DICE Awards there was an acceptance speech that caught my attention. Tim Garbos from Danish developer Triband Games was collecting the Award for Mobile Game Of The Year for What The Car. The speech was so brilliantly delivered with such whimsical humor that it is easily one of my favourite ever awards speeches. When the games predecessor, WHAT THE GOLF teed off on consoles I just had to check it out. Hole In One - What The Golf Played here on PS5 the game is out now and also available on PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC, Linux and iOS. It's difficult to talk about What The Golf without spoiling the experience. Its beauty is in the joy of discovering this wacky title with the controller in hand and a smile on your face. Heck don't even be tempted to look at the trailer b...

Building on solid foundations from the first game that was released in 2018, the development team at Frozen District have brought us a new addition to the House Flipper series. House Flipper 2 is available to buy now on Xbox and PlayStation for an average £34.99.  Of course, it can be brought on PC, however, this version was released in December 2023. Will you become a property brother? Since House Flipper 2 was announced, I have been incredibly excited to play. This has been highly anticipated by the House Flipper community. It's great to see the best parts of the original game taken and improved. Let me know in the comments if you are enjoying the new game! Shines Over: The Damned – PS5 Review

Shines Over: The Damned (SO: TD) comes from indie developer Juan-Mod Studios (Shines Over series). Published by Firenut Games (Have A Blast), the single-player first-person horror adventure game has supernatural and sci-fi elements. A mysterious event has left the area, possibly the world empty except for the nameless protagonist and his loyal German shepherd companion. SO: TD is the fourth addition to the Shines Over series showing Juan-Mod's penchant for horror and survival games. The game is a PS5 exclusive and is available now. You can also access Juan-Mod Studios' other games on their website. There is no darkness without light in Shines Over: The Damned I hadn't heard of the Shines Over games before but as a horror fan, I was excited to experience it. Comment below what you thin...

Planet Zoo: Console Edition – PS5 Review

Planet Zoo: Console Edition is a zoo builder and management sim game where you build a safe space for numerous animals big and small. It was developed and published by the British company Frontier Developments (Planet Coaster, F1 Manager 2023). It is undoubtedly a spiritual successor to Zoo Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon 2, which the team at Frontier brought us. With my review based on the PS5 version the game is also available now on Xbox series X|S. You can check out Kevin's review of the PC version and how it compares. There's a place for all animals big and small in Planet Zoo I was excited to play Planet Zoo as it eventually made its way from PC to consoles after 5 years. Real-life zoos have their share of problems but it did feel nice to (digitally) help conservation for all sorts of ani...

The Outlast Trials – PS5 Review

The Outlast Trials is a first-person survival horror game developed and published by Red Barrels. Unlike the other two entries they've created, which were single-player. This one has decided to take the online route. The game supports up to four players in online co-op. You will finish puzzles and hide from mad experiments together. Released on March 25th for PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam, The Outlast Trials is available now. Seems like a great business opportunity. After being promptly abducted, subjected to all kinds of horror and forced to consent to the trials, the player has goggles drilled into their head. Subsequently, the c...

South Park: Snow Day! – PS5 Review

I got to check out South Park: Snow Day, the next addition where we'll play as the "New Kid" as Cartman pulls us into another game. Thanks to the developers at Question, you and three other New Kids will team up together and face off against Elves, Marshwalkers and Sixth Graders. The game releases for PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam on March 26th for £24.99. Goin' down to South Park, gonna have myself a time. I've enjoyed the last two South Park games and was happy to hear of this one. It's interesting to see them take a different approach with the multiplayer and hack-n-slash gameplay, but it never hurts to try new ideas. As a disclaimer, I'll be using curse words in this article and maybe a reference or two from the show. Better context for the story. I won't be talking about South ...

Melatonin – PS5 Review

When I type up a review for video games, I try to write with a level head. While I'll attempt objectivity, it's hard not to gush about Melatonin; it's just that good. This was one of those games that I’d heard of, and seen gameplay of, but regrettably overlooked until now. I don't intend to repeat that mistake and neither should anyone interested! Now sit back, relax and enjoy my review. Tired, in a good way A celestial gift lowered down from the skies and placed in our hands by developer and publisher Half Asleep, Melatonin finally graces us on PS5. Having previously released on PC and Switch in December 2022, it launched on PlayStation on March 12th 2024. What rhythm games do you love and why? Let us know in the comments below!
