Earlier this year LEGO released five Animal Crossing themed sets. I was severely underwhelmed when these were first revealed in a Press Release in October 2023. They didn't capture everything I loved about Animal Crossing and LEGO. Or so I thought. Then these sets hit the shelves. I saw pictures from friends. I watched TikToks showing off people's builds. Pretty quickly I realised I was wrong. These sets may have been sold separately but they were meant to be pieced together. To be customised. To be built and shaped into your very own island. It's a great time to be a gamer and LEGO fan. Not only have we had the recent Fortnite reveals and the news about the Shadow the Hedgehog bust, but LEGO decided to use San Diego Comic-Con as the perfect place to announce the brand new LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi set! Lego is working with SEGA on the development of an official Sonic set. The idea was submitted to the Lego Ideas platform back in 2019 by UK Sonic fan Viv Grannell. It received 10,000 votes, which as a result got the attention of Lego and prompt them to get in touch.
