Two New LEGO Sonic Sets Announced at Sonic Central

ICYMI, today was the annual Sonic Central livestream. A livestream dedicated to all things Sonic the Hedgehog. Ahem. And it's where the LEGO Group revealed two new sets as part of the LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog play set range. That's a mouthful to say. Even without a chilli dog! Gotta Build Fast With the launch of the LEGO Shadow the Hedgehog Bust just a week away, it's the perfect time to build on the LEGO Sonic hype. Especially as one of these new sets also features the ultimate lifeform himself! The two sets announced were Sonic’s Campfire Clash (set 77001) and Super Shadow vs. Biolizard (set 77003). A Tale of Two Halves Announced By Bitmap Book

Video Games-specialist book publisher Bitmap Books has announced the latest addition to its collection: A Tale of Two Halves: The History of Football Video Games. You don't have to wait long for this goal-den opportunity either as it launces 17th October. Dedicated to the beautiful game in 2D & 3D Fans of iconic franchises like Sensible Soccer, FIFA, Pro Evolution Soccer, and Football Manager can expect to find a treasure trove of trivia, history, and analysis. The beautiful game has had some brilliant (and plenty of awful) video game renditions over the years. And this pays tribute to them all! A Tale of Two Halves is authored by football games historian Richard Moss. Moss dives into the evolution of the genre’s rich history from 1980 to 2010. Aptly split into two halves, the...

Hey! Listen! LEGO Deku Tree Launches Today

Legend of Zelda fans, including myself, have been longing for a Zelda themed LEGO set for years. Whilst as the years went on this seemed Hylian unlikely. It's now (Ocarina of) Time. That's right. It's the official release day of the LEGO Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 set. Before you read on I just need to get this out there. I am a huge Legend of Zelda fan. I am also a big fan of puns. So, yes there will be as many Zelda puns as I can fit into this article. But don't worry, if it doesn't feel right I won't tri and force it. Hey! Listen! Fans of LEGO and the Legend of Zelda games have long coveted a collaboration of these IP giants. Over the years there have been some fantastic fan made builds. Whilst these LEGO MOCs could be marvelled (should that be Nintendo'd) at, they were not for the ave...

It seems it was only yesterday I was writing about the latest LEGO Animal Crossing sets. That was in fact 20 days ago. How time flies. Before I dive into the latest announcement, how about you go check out my last LEGO Animal Crossing set new piece. Read all about how wrong I was. Now I haven't got much to share in great details about these sets, and we do have to wait until January to get our mitts on them, but excitement got the better of me and here we are. Stargazing with Celeste (77053) This is the smallest of the three new sets but is the one I want the most! Animal Crossing fans will instantly recognise the minifigure as being Celeste. The l...

Yes, yes: More LEGO Animal Crossing sets

Earlier this year LEGO released five Animal Crossing themed sets. I was severely underwhelmed when these were first revealed in a Press Release in October 2023. They didn't capture everything I loved about Animal Crossing and LEGO. Or so I thought. Then these sets hit the shelves. I saw pictures from friends. I watched TikToks showing off people's builds. Pretty quickly I realised I was wrong. These sets may have been sold separately but they were meant to be pieced together. To be customised. To be built and shaped into your very own island. Just like Tom Nook intended. I bought every single set. I carved out space amongst the LEGO collection and dedicated a whole shelf to my real life island. Fast forward to present day and LEGO have released two more Animal Crossing sets. And this ti...

Nostalgia + LEGO = New Mario & Yoshi Set

It's a great time to be a gamer and LEGO fan. Not only have we had the recent Fortnite reveals and the news about the Shadow the Hedgehog bust, but LEGO decided to use San Diego Comic-Con as the perfect place to announce the brand new LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi set! This set is the fifth addition to the 18+ LEGO Super Mario range, and we couldn't think of anything more perfect than Mario and Yoshi being reunited in 16bit style. WAHOOO! As this is a set aimed at us adults LEGO have really leant into the side-scrolling Nintendo nostalgia and I love it. The LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi set uses a 2D build to bring the pixelated joy of our 16bit childhood to life. Mario may be an icon but we all know the real fan favourite is his trusty companion and stead, Yos...

LEGO have unveiled the latest set in their bust/mask line and ultimate lifeform fans you're going to want to check this one out! That's right the latest addition to the LEGO 18+ collection is none other than Shadow the Hedgehog. More specifically Shadow as you will remember him from his first appearance in Sonic Adventure 2. The Ultimate Lifeform. LEGO have been unveiling lots of new gaming related sets recently, like these four new Fortnite sets . This set is different however, in that it's the first gaming related bust. We've had Star Wars, we've had Marvel and now it's Sonic's turn! Well, Shadow's turn. Whilst I admit the first time I saw this I did wonder why on earth LEGO would pick Shadow, I know there are many fans out there for whom this 720 piece set will hit firmly in the nosta...
