LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Review

Star Wars and LEGO games feel like they have been around forever right? The first Star Wars game was The Empire Strikes Back, released in 1982 for the Intellivision and Atari 2600. LEGO Fun to Build was officially the first LEGO game released way back in 1995 on the Sega Pico. It wasn't until 2001 that LEGO started getting into the licensing game with LEGO Creator: Harry Potter released on PC. Then it all changed in the year 2005. LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game was released on April 2nd of that year, followed by Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy a year later. With that said, almost 17 years to the day of the first LEGO Star Wars game, we have the one that we have all been waiting for; LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga - Consume You, It Will H...

Abermore Review

Abermore is a first-person stealth and heist simulator by Four Circle Interactive (10 Second Ninja). With publishing by Fireshrine Games (KeyWe, Mechwarrior 5), Abermore is only available on PC via Steam. There does not appear to be any plans to bring the game to console. Abermore is a Stealthy Bomb For all outward appearances, Abermore looked to be a game I'd greatly enjoy playing. It has sneaking around, robbing the upper class, and fencing the goods you've stolen. But upon playing the game with all those intentions, it is sadly going to be a rough go for most if not all players trying to play at this time. Unlike my usual reviews, this one is going to take a little bit of a different approach so the format may seem a bit off. But please read on for further understanding. Gameplay...

Agent Intercept Review

Agent Intercept is the latest title from New Zealand developer PikPok. Arcade-Racing in an over-the-top style that see's you drive a spy vehicle, perform ridiculous stunts and blow things up. Agent Intercept is available on Playstation, Xbox and Nintendo switch from 30th March Your Mission Should You Choose To Accept It Seeing Agent Intercept for the first time, I was dubious if I would enjoy it. The premises of the game was appealing I was unsure of how it would achieve the desired outcome. It is time for you to step up, Agent! Face off against the criminal organization CLAW as you drive the Agency's latest high-tech transforming vehicle, the Sceptre. Perform over-the-top stunts while dodging enemy fire, mines, and lasers, and blow up enemies with the Sceptre's high-tech gadgetry. Im...

Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires Review

Koei Tecmo is world-renowned for many reasons, Atelier, Dead or Alive, and Nioh are a few of the reasons. However, the other is for the Dynasty Warriors franchise. This year Koei Tecmo has released the latest in the DWE series with Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires. Failure To Plan, Is Planning To Fail I have played numerous games from the "Warriors" franchise, you can check out my Samurai Warriors 5 review here. Some of them have been fantastic and some have fallen weak against some of the previous releases to date. Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires was released in Japan in the December of 2021, and later to the rest of the world on February 15th, 2021, and is available on all current platforms. For the purposes of this review, I played it on the PlayStation 5. So join me as I check out Dyna...

Aztech Forgotten Gods Review

Aztech Forgotten Gods is a new action-adventure game developed and published by indie studio Lienzo (Mulaka, Hunter's Legacy) available on March 10th. The game is set in an alternate reality in which the American continents did not face conquering nations and civilizations such as the Aztecs were able to flourish and develop into a modern technical society. You wield the power of the Forgotten Gods and become a hero as you turn their power against them. Witness Aztec Influence for a Modern Era in Aztech Forgotten Gods I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I first took a look at the info available for Aztech Forgotten Gods. Once I got to playing it, it took a while for it to really sink in too. Only once I'd got further into the game though it finally did click and I began enjoying it m...

King of Fighters XV Review

As you may have guessed by the title. We have reached the 15th main game in SNK's long-running King of Fighters franchise. The series started way back in 1994. Releasing into the arcades, and felt like a natural progression following the games Fatal Fury and The Art of Fighting, featuring characters from each title. King of Fighters XV - Is it the King of Fighters though? Both developed and published by SNK, King of Fighters XV was set to release in 2020, and was being developed alongside its previous instalment. King of Fighters XV was eventually released worldwide on February 17th, 2021 on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. For the purposes of the review, I played it on the PS5. Now, Round 1 - fight! Gameplay As with most fighting games, bar the Mortal Kombat and more recently...

Uncharted: Legacy of Theives – The Lost Legacy Review

Having played the original release of The Lost Legacy (read our review here) when it launched back in August 2017, I was excited when the Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves Collection was announced. I loved the switch to a new, yet familiar lead character. To steal a quote from protagonist Chloe Frazer  - "when people have low expectations, it's much easier to take them by surprise".  A truer word couldn't be said about this cinematic story-driven action-adventure, as it did take me by surprise and stands as one of my favourite games in the Uncharted series to date. Recharted - The Lost Legacy Developed by PlayStation first-party studio Naughty Dog, this remaster collects PS4 titles A Thief's End and The Lost Legacy in one package and brings them natively to the PS5. There's a welcome upgr...

The Anacrusis Preview

The Anacrusis is a fresh take on the co-op shooter genre, developed and published by Stray Bombay - a studio formed by ex-Valve and Riot developers. With such an established development team, I was excited to see what The Anacrusis had in store for us. Falling short of the mark? With mixed reviews, I go into this one cautiously optimistic. Is The Anacrusis a diamond in the rough, or does it completely miss the mark? Let's find out. Gameplay The basic principle of The Anacrusis is to survive from point A to point B, finding saferooms along the way. Each episode has it's own objective - although being honest, it's not always clear what that is. The bright pastel colour scheme means every room looks kind of samey, and progression feels more like random luck of stumbling on the right path ...
