Psycho Wolf Review – Psycho Killer Qu’est-ce que c’est?

Hydragon bring us a game that has 2020 written all over it, the aptly named Psycho Wolf. This is a game about revenge, bloody violent revenge, bloody violent merciless revenge. Kill or be killed. That is the way of the Psycho Wolf. So it's time for me to dress up in my wolf's clothing and exact some bloody violent and merciless revenge on some simple animal folk in the forest or woodland, maybe houses, possibly mountains. I do love a surprise. Gameplay Psycho Wolf starts with a little backstory about how I came to be psychotic. It seems that I play a rather unsavoury character who is obsessed with greed, then revenge, I suppose there is a subtle clue in the title though. Once escaping from being imprisoned for fraud I single mindedly set out to kill, kill, kill. I started on lev...

Pikmin 3 Deluxe – A Very Juicy Upgrade

Pikmin 3 has returned from its WiiU limbo. Now I loved the WiiU; I am definitely a WiiU apologist and a big fan of Nintendo in general. Let's be honest though, the console flopped and as a result, the games went largely unseen by a lot of gamers. Seeing all of these games make a welcome return to the Switch is brilliant and Pikmin 3 Deluxe highlights this. Hopefully, Nintendo continues this trend with the likes of Windwaker and Twilight Princess. Pikmin first debuted on GameCube and whilst I did dabble in it, I never really played much of it. In fact, hearing the phrase "real-time strategy on console" is enough to make most gamers cower in fear. The series, however, has a huge following and there is even a much-anticipated Pikmin 4 in the works. Gameplay As I say, Pikmin 3 Deluxe ...

Partisans 1941 – Escape To The Motherland

Partisans by devs Alter Games and published by Daedalic Entertainment is a real-time tactical stealth game set on the eastern front of WW2.  Playing your part in the war effort as a Russian army commander stuck behind enemy lines, it is down to you to rally the locals in order to form a group of Partisans, the dictionary definition being "a member of an armed group formed to fight secretly against an occupying force, in particular one operating in German-occupied Yugoslavia, Italy, and parts of Eastern Europe in the Second World War." Can you make it out alive? Gameplay Partisans is certainly an interesting game to play and one that really made me think at every stage in the game as death is very easily come by.  Partisans come across as a mixture of Commandos and Xcom in that you ha...

Transformers: Battlegrounds – Not Much More Than Meets The Eye…

The Transformers are back! After a turbulent modern-history, the Transformers have returned to the video game world with Transformers: Battlegrounds. Creating a new Transformers video game franchise is tricky; Activision nailed the franchise with the incredible War for Cybertron and the follow-up Fall of Cybertron. We don't talk about part 3. After they butchered that franchise by tying it into the incredibly polarising movie franchise they did give the Generation 1 Transformers a go in the 2015 game Transformers: Devastation. Historically this licence is a tricky one to get right in video game form, but there has been success over the years. This is now the first major Transformers game since Activision lost the licence. What Coatsink has done with Transformers: Battlegrounds is ta...
