Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries Review

In a surprise turn of events MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries arrived onto PS5. This was the first time the series had been on PlayStation consoles since MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat. For those of us old enough to remember that was on the original Playstation back in 1995.  Craig reviewed the PC version back in 2019 where he awarded it the Thumb Culture GOLD award.  To see his review click here. Mechwarrior 5: "Systems Are Critical" Sadly there was a rough first impression that gave me cause for concern when I sat down to experience Mercenaries and all of the available DLC packs. Several crashes caused me to uninstall and reinstall. It is worth noting here that this was after the game had officially launched. Hardly the start to the series that I was looking forward to.  My game-breaki...

Model Builder Preview

Model Builder by developers Moonlit and Kuba Wójcik is, as it sounds, a model building simulator.  Everyone at some time in their life has probably built a model, with varying outcomes.  Published by Green Man Gaming will this be a tedious affair or a total breeze? Model Builder - 0% Chance of Gluing Fingers Together! I am quietly optimistic, having reviewed Balsa Model Flight Simulator recently.  If you like what you read, give the demo a chance over in the Steam store! Gameplay Before I start I will say that there was a disclaimer that it was a game in progress therefore I will concentrate on the main gameplay and only report if there are any game-breaking bugs. From the off, you can select from a campaign and sandbox mode.  Sandbox needs no intro therefore it was straight ont...

Damn Dolls Review

October.  The time of year where the leaves are falling, Halloween decorations are up, and the constant fear of having it rain on Halloween is in full swing. In honor of it being October, we at Thumb Culture are going to be playing some horror games and writing our thoughts on them, this being one of them. Let us present to you our review for Damn Dolls Damn Dolls is an indie horror game released on Nintendo Switch and PC. It was developed and self-published by first-time game developer Rodrigo Riquetto and was released on October 11th, 2021. Damn Dolls - Those Sure Were Some Damn Dolls I'd say I'm pretty familiar with these types of survival horror games. The stuff where you walk around a scary place in first-person mode and try not to freak out from all the jump scares. I've played ...

Back 4 Blood – Team Review

Its time for another TC Group review, and this time it's Back 4 Blood that gets the treatment! Check out what the members of the TC team thought of this from developers, Turtle Rock Studios. What We Thought Martin During my playtime of the beta of Back 4 Blood open beta, I did not enjoy this game. However, upon playing the game on full release I can safely say that I was very wrong with my opinion. Back 4 Blood is a brilliant game. The gunplay is great, each weapon feels completely different, and the tools and accessories you can use vary quite a lot. The horde of Ridden charging at you is intense and will get you sitting on the edge of your seat especially when the "Special Ridden" come for you. These range from massive "Exploders" who are actually more dangerous when they get kille...
