LEGO Beauty and The Beast Castle Preview

It's no secret we love Lego here at Thumb Culture. We have a whole section of the website dedicated to it after all. Recently we got sent the biggest set we have to review yet. But what could it be? Be Our Guess I know the article title gives it away, but indulge me here. Followers over on our TikTok got a sneak peek into this mysterious new review set. We even gave viewers a chance to guess which set it was. Would you have been able to guess it? https://www.tiktok.com/@thumb_culture/video/7492015115676437782   Sacré Bleu Of course we have very smart followers and people guessed it rather quickly. What else could it be but the LEGO Disney Beauty and the Beast Castle?! This is one of my favourite Disney movies and even just looking through the instruction booklets got me emot...

LEGO Marvel Gains New Mini Bust Sets

Ok who had LEGO Mini Bust on your LEGO Marvel bingo card? Yep that's right, LEGO have shared details of new Marvel character mini bust builds. And not just any Marvel characters, but Iron Man and Iron Spider-Man. In the flesh, er, in the LEGO brick! These are marketed as 18+ but from what I've seen this is because they are designed to be display builds, rather then play sets. Let's take a closer look at them. LEGO Marvel Iron Man bust This LEGO Marvel Iron Man bust set replicates the Iron Man MK4 armour. Which if you didn't know is the armour seen in the Iron Man 2 movie. The set maybe a mere 434 pieces but it packs a lot into that. With 2 posable airbrake flaps, micro missile launchers amongst other features I don't want to spoil, this is a set for any Marvel fan. Of course the set is n...

Sean Astin Launches New LEGO Lord Of The Rings The Shire Set

The LEGO Icons line just keeps on being, well, iconic. Take the new LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings: The Shire set for example. The set in itself is incredible and any self respecting LOTR fan will be besides themselves at the sight of it. But LEGO knew this wasn't enough. Which is where Sean Astin aka Samwise Gamgee in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, comes in. To celebrate the launch of the set Astin stars in an exclusive mini-film. If I take one more step, it'll be the farthest away from home I've ever been. The minifilm may only be 1 minute and 28 seconds long, but it's well worth a watch. Why wouldn't you want even a brief glimpse of The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy recreated with love in LEGO bricks? Echoing the iconic Osgiliath monologue and cross-cutting sequences that...

LEGO Pokémon Partnership Announced

Well, I didn't have this on my LEGO bingo card for this year, and yet it's something I have dared to dream about. Today, the LEGO Group and The Pokémon Company International announced a new multi-year partnership. That's right LEGO Pokémon is no longer just a dream, it's a reality. Or least it will be in 2026! I Wanna Build The Very Best Since the debut of the Pokémon franchise, many of us have dreamed of becoming Pokémon Trainers. LEGO fans have been asking for years to extend this dream brick by brick. And now here we are! We don't know much about what the collection will bring. Aside from it launches in 2026 and that the sets will allow fans to build beloved Pokémon in LEGO brick form. But the fact it is a multi-year partnership can only mean good things! Don't take my word about i...

LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi Review

We first shared the news of the LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi (set number 71438) back in July last year however it only released last October. And yes, it has taken me a while to get through my backlog to be able to bring you this review. That's not even due to the fact that the LEGO Art LOVE (set number 31214) skipped right to the front. Mario time! Before I get into the nitty gritty of this build, let's quickly go over the product specs/details. The LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi is an 18+ set, not necessarily because of the build techniques but due io it not being a playset. This is definitely a collection piece. Although the £115 price tag may also be giveaway for this! Released in October the set is available on the LEGO website now and is even eligible for a ...

The LOVE sculpture by Robert Indiana is recognised around the world as an iconic symbol of the pop-art era. Today is the international day of love aka St Valentine's Day. And what better LEGO set to be sharing with you all today, then the LEGO Art LOVE (set number 31214). The set is available now from the LEGO website and will set you back £69.99. L is for the way you look at me Did you know this iconic art piece is actually celebrating it's 55th anniversary this year? That's a lot of love. And Mani Zamani, LEGO art Designer agrees saying “As a design professional and enthusiast, I have long admired Robert Indiana’s work. His artistic language has become synonymous with pop-art and LOVE in its many mediums represents this like no other.” It has been a personal honour to help bring this ...

LEGO Adds Game Boy To It’s Console List

Nintendo and LEGO have once again joined forces to announce a brand new, at least in brick form, console! The LEGO Game Boy was teased last night across social media. And whilst it may not be the Switch 2 annoucement people have been hoping for, it is certainly not unwelcome news! Gimme Gimme Gimme I can't be the only one surprised that the LEGO Game Boy is the latest addition to the console sets. With retro gaming icons such as the LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System and the LEGO Atari 2600 having been previously released. I was expecting another home console to join the series. Hell, even the LEGO PAC-MAN Arcade, feels less left field then this annoucement. However, I can why such a jump would happen. Afterall we can't have every home console in brick form. Can we? Apparently not. Besid...

LEGO Fortnite Odyssey: New Name, New Game

LEGO Fortnite is changing things up from today! You can now find LEGO Fortnite within its own category on the Fortnite Discover page. That's not all though as there is a major game update in the form of a name change. That's right, LEGO Fortnite will now be known as LEGO Fortnite Odyssey. Don't fret though, the game will stay the same survival crafting game we all know and love that. Just with a new name, all-new areas to explore, enemies to overcome and gameplay features. The good news doesn't end there though. As Epic Games and the LEGO Group will also be launching LEGO Fortnite Brick Life on December 12th. This is an all-new social roleplay game that invites players to make friends, build their dream lifestyle, and move into a new home in a bustling city. Think The Sims but with LEGO...
