Once upon a time in a land far away, I wrote a preview of the newly released LEGO Beauty and The Beast Castle set. The time has come for me to share the full build with you all. Let’s not wait for the last petal to fall, let’s get into this review.

Tale As Old As Time

This is not a small set, but being a Disney castle would you expect anything less? The 2916 bricks are divided across 21 bags. Whilst the instructions span 2 thick booklets.

For those interested in scale, or indeed shelf space requirements, this is smaller then the now retired LEGO Disney Castle 71040 set. In fact you’ll spot a nice side by side just below! However, this is still a beast of a build. Fully built the LEGO Beauty and The Beast Castle is 53cm in height, 33cm wide and has a depth of 15cm. So plan shelf space accordingly!

This isn’t even all the LEGO castles I own…

Oh, Isn’t This Amazing

As I included a fair few of the details within my preview build article for this set, I don’t want to run the risk of repeating myself too much. But you know what says a thousand words? A picture! And gosh do I have pictures. Having made sure to take one after every completed bag, you can see this castle come together below.

Final Thoughts

Retailing at £239.99 on the LEGO website, the LEGO Disney Beauty and the Beast Castle isn’t an everyday purchase kind of set. It’s a big price tag, and to be honest I don’t think it should be that high. I know licenses, especially Disney ones can be expensive, but I feel around £200 would have been a better price. Especially considering the Snow White Cottage set 43242, is only 688 bricks less then this set and is £190 from the LEGO website. In my opinion, this is one of those sets to grab when it is on offer. Be that double Insider points or a sale at your local toy store!

Aside the price, the only other thing that slightly disappointed me with this set, is that it was a solo build. Being a full time working mum can often mean life gets in the way of LEGO time. This meant it took me longer to build this set then I wanted it to. Fitting in a bag or two when I could. I know if Build Together had been an option, this set not only would have been built quicker, but I’d have got to share the joy with a fellow Disney LEGO nerd.

If you are a Disney Princess fan, and love the architecture of the Disney castles within their parks, I would say the LEGO Disney Beauty and the Beast Castle is a great addition for your collection. Visually it is everything 8yo me was hoping it would be.
