Tropico 6 – PC Review

I love myself a good construction builder game. Games such as Sim City, Cities Skylines and Rollercoaster Tycoon. When I was first introduced to the first Tropico back in 2004 while I worked at GAME, there was something that appealed to me that I could build a tropical paradise in the sun while being a Dictator. I mean, who doesn't want to have a crack of being a dictator right? Being The Best Dictator In The World! Many moons have passed since I first played it and now Tropico 6 is out. Developed by Limbic Entertainment and published by Kalypso Media, Tropico has come very far since the early days of the franchise. Lets jet off to my tropical Island, Assume the role of El Presidente and let's see If I can create a truly great country... Gameplay With a game like these, I lik...

Etherborn PC Preview – Effortless, Surreal and Puzzling

Altered Matter bring us the gravity bewildering adventure Etherborn. Will it's simplistic artistic style prove to be a winner winner chicken dinner, or should it be fed to the dogs? Time to meditate and enter the weird and wonderful world before me. Gameplay A soft whispery voice guides me, I must follow the dulcet tones to discover the truth. There is a calming nature about this voice that makes me want to do as she is saying. Etherborn is best played with a controller, but keyboard play is possible for the PC owners that don't have a controller. You can jump, run, inspect and move. This game looks perfect, I love simplicity. So what is it all about? Well if you ever have a stressful day at the office and you fancy not shooting zombies to get it out of your system, well this g...

Fenimore Fillmore: 3 Skulls Of The Toltecs Pc Review – Remastered Classic Or Tired Old Gunslinger?

If you grew up during the 90’s you’d have struggled not to have played a point and click adventure. I’ve certainly played my share and loved most of them being a fan of puzzle games as a child, so I was very much looking forward to exercising my mouse clicking finger once more! Fenimore Fillmore: 3 Skulls of the Toltecs is a remaster by the Casual Brothers of the original 1996 game. Set in 1860’s Arizona you play as the game's namesake character Fenimore Fillmore - Gunslinger, after witnessing the attack of an old man named Buck and then accidentally poisoning him with hair tonic, you recover the Toltec skull before being ambushed yourself. When you come to your senses the treasure is gone, taken for safekeeping by a Friar and so begins your adventure… Gameplay Just like any...

Generation Zero is the latest offering from the developers at Avalanche Studios. It is a first-person co-op shooter developed for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Generation Zero released on the 26th of March, 2019. Avalanche Studios has had a pretty solid track record in terms of making fun open world games. Mad Max and the Just Cause series are among the titles Avalanche Studios is known for making. Let's get on our rad clothes, break out the boombox and check out the bogus events following a weekend campout with friends. Gameplay I have been looking forward to getting my hands on Generation Zero since I first heard about it. I mean come on, Robots? The 80's? Scavenging for weapons to survive? That sounds pretty awesome, right?  In theory, yes, that sounds awesome. In practice, however, it's slig...

ChromagunVR PSVR Review – Paint A Rainbow

ChromagunVR is published and developed by Pixel Maniacs. This game is available on Steam, PS4, Switch and Xbox One. Today I will be reviewing the PSVR version and using a PS4 Pro model with a PS Aim Controller. Gameplay ChromagunVR in it's most basic form is a simple puzzle and colour making game. You start in a room and have to make your way out guiding worker drones to relevant points in the room or corridor. The worker drones are manipulated by colours. ChromagunVR gives you three primary colours to work with. Red, Yellow and Blue, so as an example red and blue mixed make purple. Yellow and blue make green. I'm sure you get the idea. Some worker drones are harmless to you, others, however, have spiked bodies and can and will kill you so you need to be careful at all time...

Roccat Renga Boost Gaming Headset Review – Comfort & Quality On A Budget?

Landing on the desk over at Thumb Culture HQ this month is a pair of Roccat Renga Boost gaming headphones for us to test!  Sporting studio-grade sound, a boom mic and also compatible with both PCs and consoles, how would they hold up when put through their paces? On first lookings the Roccat Renga Boost is extremely lightweight at 210g and is designed with an ergonomic leather headband, allowing the wires to pass through from one can to another in a separate metal containment above.  The headset breaks away from the normal headband that you normally associate with over the ear headphones and automatically adjusts to your head shape, and despite looking a little like a Cyberman from Dr.Who when wearing them, they are probably the most comfiest things you will ever put on your head. ...

Developed by Coffee Stain Studios for the PC Satisfactory is a first-person open world factory sim. The factory is being made to send resources back to Ficsit Inc. for some mysterious purpose. Don’t Escape: 4 Days in a Wasteland Review – Old School, Old Cool?

Scriptwelder bring us Don't Escape: 4 Days in a Wasteland, the sequel to Don't Escape 1,2 & 3. The question is, is it any good, or just a clever name? Well I decided to grab my hammer and chainsaw, as these are always useful, and headed on out into the wilderness to find out. Tally ho! Gameplay Don't Escape: 4 Days in a Wasteland is a classic point and click graphic adventure. Find things, use things, get confused and so on. The style is retro 8 bit graphics, though you can change the font to modernise it. You play a character called David. David has dreams that are really premonitions. Use the dreams to ensure that you protect yourself from the dangers that lurk over a 4 day period. All you have to do is put plans in place to stay safe overnight. Sounds simple enough, good. T...

Warhammer: Chaosbane Beta PC – A refreshing Action-RPG

I've always been a fan of Diablo and have recently re-discovered my love for Diablo 3 since its release on the Nintendo Switch, Warhammer: Chaosbane caught my eye. Upon first looking at the game, developed by Eko Software,  you could be forgiven for comparing it to Diablo but upon playing it, you soon release that Warhammer: Chaosbane has simply been inspired by it and added the whole world of Warhammer by placing right into the heart of the game. There are a few good Warhammer games out at present with the release of Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 recently and Last year Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr which also was an Action RPG but didn't score that high. The game is currently in Beta which runs from March the 7th until March the 13th and it's officially released on the 4th of...
