Fishing Sim World: Pro Tour Review

I’ll start by saying I’m no Fisherman! I haven’t cast a rod in over 20 years, However, I do love my simulation games and the idea of sitting down to an afternoon of fishing with a few beers sounded great. Will I net a Big Catch? Or Just drown some worms? Let’s see… Fishing Sim World launched in September of 2018, Developed and published by Dovetail Games and has seen multiple updates, extra lakes and DLC packs. The latest update Pro Tour came out on 18th July introducing a new career mode featuring 100 of the worlds best anglers and a sponsorship system with 50 licensed fishing tackle companies and social media following earning you increasing money and fame! Gameplay As I said I’m not an experienced fisher so a lot of the equipment, baits etc seemed very foreign to me, my first i...

Argonus and the Gods of Stone Review – Divine Intervention or a Greek Tragedy?

Zojoi bring us Argonus and the Gods of Stone, a chance to delve back into the past of ancient Greece, well maybe the films of the 70s and 80s about it. Time to get all nostalgic and maybe find a golden fleece, a mirrored shield or sever the head of a gorgon. Loincloth on, shield raised and sword as sharp as health and safety will allow. Gameplay Argonus and the Gods of Stone is a traditional first-person adventure. Those familiar with Greek Mythology will be quick to pick up on the use of the word Argo, so it is assumed that Argonus is going to be related to the great ship in some way or at least the Argonauts. So let's get the game started with a few clichés:- Shipwreck? - check Stranded on an island? - check Visited by a God? - check No idea what you have to do? - che...

Deliver Us The Moon Review- Zero Gravity, Maximum Seriousness

KeokeN Interactive bring us the moon, well actually I kind of have to deliver it myself. Nothing is going to be easy in this game. Oxygen is in short supply and it's up to me to reboot the broken moon's supply to save the world. Fortunately I work well under pressure, so smoke me a kipper I'll be home before breakfast. Space suit on, dried food rations at the ready and a desire to save all humans already in built. Lets blow this joint.  Gameplay Deliver us the Moon goes with the standard WASD format to move around, well I say standard, once I got into space it took a little longer to get used to it as zero gravity can be a bit tricky. I found a few items that helped me get around the space station, there has been quite a bit of damage and power would be useful. Missions are presented...

Conan Unconquered Review – Conquered

Founded in 2003 with veteran developers from Westwood Studios; Petroglyph brings us a real-time strategy game which is extremely reminiscent of the major RTS titles we all know and love from the ’90s. Conan Unconquered was published by Funcom and developed by Petroglyph, it was released at the end of May 2019 and is available via Steam on the PC. Due to the previous RTS games that some of the team at Petroglyph were majorly involved in (such as Command and Conquer/Age of Empires), it's safe to say I had fairly high expectations of the title. Gameplay As previously mentioned Conan Unconquered is a Real-Time-Strategy game, with 3 gameplay modes available it allows you to play the game how it suits you best. For single player, you have the ability to play scenario mode which is the m...

The Church In The Darkness Review – Don’t Drink the Kool-Aid

The Church in The Darkness is a game developed by Paranoid Productions and published by Fellow Traveller for the Playstation 4, PC, macOS, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Designed by Richard Rouse III, who previously had designed games such as The Suffering, the premise of The Church in the Darkness is based on Rouse's fascination with cults and also his desire to make an open narrative game in a world where many titles have a fixed narrative structure. Let's jump in and see what's what Gameplay The Church in the Darkness is an action-infiltration game with a top-down camera angle set within a religious cult in the mid-1970s. Immediately upon starting, you're presented with the option to choose a male or female character. The character you pick doesn't seem to make any difference overall. ...

eFootball PES 2020 PC Review – Time For a Change?

eFootball PES 2020 is the new football simulation game developed by PES productions & published by Konami and was released on September 10th on PS4, Xbox One & PC via steam. This year's PES 2020 release features the added “eFootball” in the title as a way for Konami to push into the online gaming space for a focus on the PESLeague and eFootball Pro tournaments. Konami have enlisted the help of former Barcelona & Spain legend Andres Iniesta as a gameplay consultant, to help shape a “renewed focus on immersion and authenticity, translating his innate ability to read the space around him and slip through the tiniest cracks of an otherwise impregnable defensive line into a new dynamic dribbling technique; the Finesse Dribble”. On the cover this year is the return of Lione...

Speedlink Orios Gaming Mouse Pad XL – Neon Sensations?

Ok so we all love a good mouse pad, but wow when this monster of a pad from Speedlink landed at TC HQ it was something else!  Measuring 910mm wide x 420mm deep x 3mm high the Orios Gaming Mouse pad XL dominates the desk giving you a massive surface to glide your mouse freely across (in this case the Roccat Kone AIMO) as well as an area for your keyboard if you so desire. Features With an anti-skid rubberised backing that holds the mouse pad to the deck for even the heaviest handed player, the soft slick cloth surface on top also has a water-repellent finish should you do the unthinkable and knock a drink over.  The feel of the mouse pad is very sleek and the mouse moves quickly around however I did on occasion feel my hand starting to sweat a little where it made contact with the pad...

Super Dodge Ball Beats PC Review – Dodge, Dip, Dive, Duck, and Dodge

The first thing I thought of when I saw the main menu of this game, Dragon Ball Z. It has an anime feel that will appeal to fans of that genre. Super Dodgeball Beats was developed by FinalBoss Games and Published by PlayStack. Super Dodgeball Beats was released on September 12, 2019, and is available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. This review is for the PC version of the game.   Gameplay Super Dodgeball Beats is a really interesting game, as I have never played dodgeball in a video game before this. The basic premise of the game is that you are students who have formed a dodge ball team. There really isn’t a story here. The game has 2 main game modes, Championship and multiplayer. In the championship mode, you will be able to select from 3 leagues to pla...

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey – PC Review – Serious Monkey Business

When first I laid eyes on Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey I was incredibly excited. I saw the survival game I've always wanted to play, and it was coming from a Canadian developer as a bonus. Developed by Panache Digital Games in Montreal, and published by Private Division, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey was released on August 27th, 2019 for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games store. I will be playing on PC using an Xbox One controller for this review. The lead designer of the game, Patrice Désilets, created the hugely successful Assassin's Creed franchise. It's time to swing on in and see if the first game from Panache Digital Games can survive the jungle of the game industry. Gameplay Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is a fairly complicated game. It is a single-...

Pagan Online PC Review- Watch out for Perun’s Arrow

There have been a few big Action RPG releases recently and more notably Warhammer: Chaosbane and of course everything will get compared to THE ARPG, Diablo 3. However, this one, on the outside, feels a little different. Pagan Online Is developed by Mad Head Games and Wargaming and the story is based around Slavic Paganism and you can choose one of eight heroes to fight against the countless enemies in a fast-paced, hack-n-slash environment as you work your way through the journey of the story. So let's choose a hero and smash some enemies. Gameplay Right away you're introduced to the story and of course, you have to select your character. What did I go for? Well, the one that looks a cross between Odin wielding Mjolnir aka Istok: The Stalwart Protector. Here are the eight characters ...
