Lumberhill Review

From new developers 2BIGo and ARP Games, under the publication of All in! Games, comes Lumberhill. 2BIGo is a small, 4-person indie company founded in January 2018 in Gliwice, Poland. Available on PC (Steam) I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to review Lumberhill, and I jumped straight in. Being a fan of the Overcooked! series, Lumberhill looked like a blast. I couldn't wait to give it a go. Lumberhill Review - We Have To Save The Animals... And Harvest The Trees? If like us, you're a fan of the style of gameplay offered by Overcooked! you will absolutely love Lumberhill. Lumberhill features a very similar style of gameplay, where you have to work together as a team to get all your tasks done in time while fighting against nature! Carry on reading to see what I thought of thi...

Developed by Piranha Games Inc., and published by Sold Out Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries is no longer Epic Exclusive and is now also available on Steam, GOG, and Xbox. I wrote a review on Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries previously, You can find it here. War rages for control of these systems from the great houses leftover after the succession wars. Battlefields are dominated by enormous bipedal tanks called Battlemechs. The pilots of these Battlemechs are known as Mechwarriors, and they fight for glory, money, revenge, and honor. Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries - Heroes of the Inn...

The Hand of Merlin Preview

Knights, archers and wizards circle around for I, Jas of House Thumb Culture, have been recently spending my time on turn-based rogue-lite RPG The Hand of Merlin.  Currently available on Steam in early access, The Hand of Merlin is developed by Croatian-based Room-C Games and Croteam.  Although loosely based around the Arthurian legend, this is certainly a game with a slight twist! The Hand of Merlin - Arise and arise a lot more! Can you make the treacherous journey with the holy grail or will you be killed by the local yobs or alien monsters?  Yes, you heard me correctly!  Game on! Gameplay When I first had the opportunity to review The Hand of Merlin, the first thought that I had was of commanding a gallant King Arthur and his comrades X-com style across an olde world land.  Litt...

Castle Flipper Review

Welcome to my review of Castle Flipper which is brought to us by developers Pyramid Games and publishers Ultimate Games. Castle Flipper is a medieval castle renovation game with similar traits to House Flipper. You can buy Castle Flipper now on Steam. Castle Flipper - Build Your Legacy, One Block At A Time! So I've mentioned the obvious game there. However, this is not House Flipper and it certainly has a lot of differences. Let us know in the comments if you've played Castle Flipper, check out my previous review here. Gameplay We start Castle Flipper with a basic tutorial that shows us how to use our arsenal of tools and how we go about cleaning up. The controls are relatively simple in Castle Flipper, nothing too stressful here. No complicated key bindings or a difficult UI to naviga...

PowerWash Simulator Early Access

Futurlab has officially released the latest title they have developed and published into early access. It is a title that we have seen all over the gaming channels on social media. It also looks like one of the most satisfying simulators to this day. We are indeed talking about PowerWash Simulator! At only £15.99 (at the time of writing) on the Steam store, I am excited to jump in and do some cleaning. A sentence which I have never said before. The escape from cleaning, where you... clean? Simulator games for me can sometimes be extremely boring. On the other hand, they can sometimes be the most ridiculous addictive game since some of the old school MMO titles. However, PowerWash Simulator on the cover is essentially a cleaning simulator? Which is one of the household task which can be e...

Solasta: Crown Of The Magister Review

In the debut game from indie developer and publisher Tactical Adventures comes Solasta Crown of the Magister. As a fan of tabletop and video game RPGs, Solasta definitely caught my eye. So much so that I also wrote the Thumb Culture preview which you can find here. A single-player turned based isometric RPG set in the world of Solasta. The game takes place in a fantasy world following a devastating magical cataclysm from which it has not fully recovered. Solasta Crown of the Magister is available now on Steam and GOG. Solasta Crown of the Magister - Heavy is the head that wears the crown The Kickstarter campaign was incredibly successful and made the game possible. A tactical RPG combined with 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons, Solasta measures up against similar games such as Baldur's ...

King Of Seas Review

King of Seas is developed by 3D clouds, and they have brought us a single-player open-world RPG. They previously made car-based games so have leapt to sailing the seven seas. They, alongside Team17, a well-known indie publisher who previously brought us the Overcooked! series and Worms WMD. Following the popularity of games such as Sea of Thieves, the pirate genre is growing. And I believe that King of Seas is only the most recent addition to the genre and is a quality one at that. King of Seas is available now on Windows, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Series X|S, and PS4. If you're still deciding after my review you can find the preview to King of Seas written by Martin here. King of Seas - I'm the captain now! You begin King of Seas as a newly minted captain and playing in a third-pers...

Erica PC Review

Published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and originally released as a Playstation 4 exclusive, Erica, an interactive thriller film, is now available on PC. Falling somewhere between a video game and a film, this feels like an evolution of the visual novel genre. I'd say the mechanics are somewhere between Bandersnatch and a Telltale game. Let's dig in and see what Flavourworks have cooked up for us. Erica - You're my butterfly, sugar baby Have you played many full-motion video games? It's probably not many people's favourite genre. What do you think these games could do to boost their profile and appeal? Leave a comment below with your thoughts. Gameplay Erica opens with a scene where she and her father are discussing Erica's mother. Here we learn that her mother and father met ...

Let us know in the comments what you think, and as always, check out my previous review here of a fun little game called Sockventure. Gameplay In Siege Survival: Gloria Victis we start by playing the role of a survivor of a mass siege against a castle. Our survivor is named Flint and he was simply a worker before the attack whic...
