No Place Like Home – PC Review

No Place Like Home is a single-player 3rd person PC indie title from devs Chicken Launcher and published by Realms Distribution. With Earth trashed (literally) and humanity moved onto Mars, it is down to you to begin the clean-up operation. No Place Like Home - Tranquil Farming Fun I really wasn't sure what to expect with this survival sim title in all honesty, let's crack on! Be sure to check out my previous Thumb Culture reviews here! Gameplay In a nutshell, No Place Like Home is all about exploration, crafting, cleaning up and tending to the land around you. Playing as Ellen, you have inherited a  farm, or what is left of it, from your grandfather. With piles of trash and muck-like stone columns all around you, you must use your trusty drill and vacuum to demolish and suck up...

Dice Legacy: Corrupted Fates PC Review

Dice Legacy: Corrupted Fates is the first DLC for DESTINYbit's dice-based city builder Dice Legacy. I originally took a look at Dice Legacy on PC back in September. You can check out that review here. The new DLC is available now for PC and Nintendo Switch. Let the Occult Preside in Corrupted Fates It's always a great feeling when new expansions come out for your favorite board and video games. Even more so when you least expect it. I had no idea that Dice Legacy had a DLC in the works but couldn't pass up the opportunity to check out Corrupted Fates. I love when games add more content! Gameplay Since Dice Legacy: Corrupted Fates is an addition to the base game we'll just go over what's new rather than rehashing what has already been covered. The primary feature of Corrupted Fates ...

VELONE Review

VELONE is a creative automation game in which you assemble and program mechanisms to solve logic puzzles, from publisher Daedalic Entertainment. Both relaxing and highly replayable, you save the planet VELONE by creating automated constructs that move and assemble according to your master plan. Logic And Puzzles Might Get You Through This I'm a fan of puzzle games. They can be great fun and a good way to unwind. There's something deeply satisfying about solving them. I'm that guy that plays Tomb Raider and just wants to raid tombs for the puzzles, not go to war with Trinity. So a game that's all about logic and puzzles where you learn more about the planet Velone as you progress? Sure, sounds like it could be fun. Gameplay The game is listed as being *inspired* by Opus Magnum. So let's...

Trolley Problem, Inc. PC Review

Trolley Problem, Inc. is a simulation/choices matter game built around the titular thought experiment. It is the debut game from developer ReadGraves & published by Yogscast Games (Helheim Hassle). I had heard of the thought experiment before but to experience it as a video game was quite something. I found when push came to shove making choices wasn't as easy as I expected. Trolley Problem, Inc. is available now on PC via Steam & Epic Games. Trolley Problem, Inc. will change your definition of a dilemma! I was excited to play Trolley Problem, Inc. and see what choices I would make. Feel free to comment and let us know what you think of the game down below. Solasta Lost Valley Review

Solasta Lost Valley is a brand new non-linear campaign and the second Solasta expansion after Primal Calling. And comes from the indie developer and publisher Tactical Adventures. Like Crown of the magister, Lost Valley is an isometric turn-based RPG. However, this is a brand new campaign set in the world of Solasta. The titular valley is a long-forgotten region ripe with opportunity but not everyone may feel very welcoming. I enjoyed getting a sneak peek with some of the Tactical Adventures team and have put some of my first thoughts here. Solasta Lost Valley is available now on Steam as well as Xbox Game Pass on PC. The party who went up a mountain and stumbled into the Lost Valley! I enjoyed my time playing Solasta Lost Valley and hopefully, you do too. I and the TC team would ...

One Military Camp Preview

One Military Camp by devs Abylight Barcelona, is a single-player strategy management game that sees you construct and manage your own army base. Currently in private demo I was lucky enough to get a taster of what is to come. One Military Camp - A Regimented Two Point Hospital? This game certainly intrigues me as it appears to draw on some aspects of my favourite games. If you like what you see, feel free to join our social channels! Gameplay The timed demo of One Military Camp is very short and brief however you can get a feel of the type of game that is unfolding. At its core you need to build and manage your very own military base, however, the elements stretch not only from the construction side but to also recruiting troops and taking them all the way through training and d...

Uragun Preview

Uragun is a top-down arcade shooter now available in Early Access on Steam. It is being developed and published by Kool2Play. This is Kool2Play's first title to hit Early Access, with two additional projects currently in the works. Uragun. Like, Literally. Anytime I see screenshots or trailers for top-down shooters I always think about arcade cabinet games. I'm really not sure why, but they just seem to fit well in that type of setting. Uragun is no different. I could imagine playing standing at a cabinet with joystick in my hand, mashing buttons and coughing up quarters-a-plenty. Some other genres fit the bill well too. Which others stand out to you as what could be in a modern arcade setting? Let me know! Gameplay Uragun is a top-down, futuristic action shooter. It also falls und...
