It seems it was only yesterday I was writing about the latest LEGO Animal Crossing sets. That was in fact 20 days ago. How time flies. And now I'm back once again sharing the excellent news that LEGO are blessing us, and cursing our bank accounts, with THREE MORE SETS. The LEGO Group has recently launched a new app: LEGO Play. This new creative app replaces the previous LEGO Life app which was launched in 2017. With a target audience of 6-14 this app is centred around embracing and encouraging creativity. Building Board Games Together: The LEGO Group and Asmodee Partnership. That's the strapline from the official press release. It summarises everything rather nicely and yet not quite enough. Earlier this year the LEGO Group announced a partnership with Asmodee to create a board game called Monkey Palace. Earlier this year LEGO released five Animal Crossing themed sets. I was severely underwhelmed when these were first revealed in a Press Release in October 2023. They didn't capture everything I loved about Animal Crossing and LEGO. Or so I thought. Then these sets hit the shelves. I saw pictures from friends. I watched TikToks showing off people's builds. Pretty quickly I realised I was wrong. These sets may have been sold separately but they were meant to be pieced together. To be customised. To be built and shaped into your very own island. It's a great time to be a gamer and LEGO fan. Not only have we had the recent Fortnite reveals and the news about the Shadow the Hedgehog bust, but LEGO decided to use San Diego Comic-Con as the perfect place to announce the brand new LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi set!
