Mechajammer by Devs Whalenought Studios is a tactical cyberpunk turn-based RPG that allows you to take your turns simultaneously with those around you. Set in an off-world grindhouse of an urban and jungle colony it is down to you to recruit your crew and adventure through the gloomily lit city. Islanders Console Edition Review

Today I bring you my review of one of the latest indie games to hit the PlayStation 5, Islanders Console Edition. This game was originally released on PC in April 2019 under the name of Islanders. It's brought to us by developers and self-publishers GrizzlyGames, who you may know from another hit game of theirs, Superflight. Islanders - More Relaxed Than Chuck Noland Sunbathing At Home The idea of Islanders Console Edition is for the player to build up a civilisation on procedurally-generated islands. Can I gain enough points to progress to the next island? or will I be throwing my beach ball into the sea? Continue reading to find out. Check out my previous review here where I played the retro-inspired shooter, KUR. Gameplay At first, we choose which game mode we want to play. High Sco...

Deadly Days Review

Deadly Days has now launched on consoles following arriving on Steam towards the end of 2019. Developed by Pixel Split and published by Assemble Entertainment comes this Retro-inspired Zombie title. In Deadly Days Never Trust a MKing Burger For those that are unaware Deadly Days is a semi Strategic and Semi Roguelike Zombie game. The difference with this one is you actually get an explanation as to why the outbreak started. Gameplay The opening to the game gives you the background as to what has happened. Famous burger chain MKing has released a brand new burger, containing a secret "addictive" ingredient (with a view obviously to increase sales and profits - as with most evil cooperations) The side effect of this addictive ingredient is that it makes it really...REALLY addictive. S...

Black Book Review

Black Book is a deck-based action-adventure title that also has a whole load of other stuff thrown in. Developed by Morteshka and published by Hype Train Digital and designed by Vladimir Beletsky, there is nothing to not like about the visuals of this title. Initially released in May 2020, Black Book is available across most platforms including macOS. Black Book - The Sealed Book That Holds The Answers I have been playing many titles that I wouldn't usually pick up lately. This has been broadening what I play and what I look out for in a game. Black Book stood out to me due to the beautiful environments along with what I can only describe as a fairly dark storyline. Check out my previous review here. Gameplay Black Book is a deck-building adventure RPG detective title. That's right all...

Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector Review

Developed by Black Lab Games and Published by Slitherine Ltd. We have Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector. It is said that Black Lab Games and Slitherine Ltd, are trying to bring the new era of 40K to gaming. But just how well can this be done? Especially with so many Warhammer titles available. Is this just another Warhammer title to add to the collection? This is my first time playing a Warhammer title on the PC. I have heard so many mixed reviews about them. I am curious as to how I will find it, Considering I am totally outside of the Warhammer 40K world now and have been for over 20 years. Gameplay So let's start with the campaign storyline, for me, it wasn't the most gripping. However, having said that I don't feel like I need the storyline to be absolutely epic in turn-based strategy...

Fort Triumph Review

Developed and published by CookieByte Entertainment, Fort Triumph is a fantasy-style turn-based strategy game. Released on the 13th of August 2021 for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. You are tasked with leading a band of heroes with different skill sets through a witty, parody fantasy plot. Missions with various objectives are waiting for you on tiled procedural maps—whether in story mode or skirmish. So prepare yourself in this Fort Triumph Xbox One Review. Fort Triumph - Lord of the Rings Meets XCOM I always get a little excited when I see that a game has taken inspiration from the juggernaut that is XCOM. Also on the other hand I just think that it's going to be just another clone. But these types of games are always aliens or have a space theme. It's interesting to see ...

Jupiter Hell Review

Welcome to my review of Jupiter Hell, which is available now on PC via Steam and GOG! Brought to us by developers ChaosForge (Doom The Roguelike) and publishers Hyperstrange (Postal: Brain Damaged, Frozenheim). What Jupiter Hell can promise is that it's a roguelike turn-based strategy game like no other! Jupiter Hell - Not For The Faint Of Heart! Will I survive the hordes of demonic forces? Or will I fail and hit that eternal permadeath wall? If you enjoy this review, please feel free to check out my previous preview here, where I played Draft of Darkness. Gameplay As with most games, we start off with a pretty basic tutorial that teaches us the basics of the game. The game quickly teaches us that it is a turn-based strategy game that is set on a grid format, with permadeath. That's ri...
