Deathloop Review

Deathloop is finally here ladies and gentlemen.  Deathloop is a brand new IP developed by the brilliant minds at Arkane Studios who brought us Prey and Dishonored what can we expect? Well, the game director Ding Bakaba has described it as an "inverted Cluedo". It is essentially a big old murder mystery where you are stuck in a time loop played from a first-person perspective. It was originally announced at E32019 and again at the PlayStation 5 showcase in 2020 and scheduled to release later that year. But, after a couple of delays due to the ongoing pandemic, Deathloop is finally here. Deathloop - If At First, You Don't Succeed...Die, Die Again Since Microsoft acquired Zenimax Studios, the parent company of publishers Bethesda, they have honoured the agreement to make this a timed con...

I Expect You To Die 2 Review

I graduated spy school became an elite super-spy and now I'm ready for espionage, explosives, and gadgets galore. The popular escape-the-room VR franchise is back with more ingenious puzzles, cunning villains, and dangerous locales. Developed and published by Schell Games and released 24th Aug 2021. I Expect You To Die 2 gives a second chance to play a world-famous spy and is available across all Virtual Reality headsets. Turns out I'm more of a Johnny English than a James Bond. If you're a fan of VR titles why not check out one of my other reviews such as SURV1V3 here. Gameplay While the storyline carries over from the original game I Expect You To Die, previous knowledge is not required. You start with a small tutorial on how to use the controls and the telekinesis powers that yo...

Tinytopia Review

Tinytopia is newly released on Steam, developed by MeNic Games and available on both Windows & MacOS, you will be teleported into a cute world of city building fun. Available now on Steam for £10.99. IS IT A BIRD? IS IT A PLANE? NO, IT'S A UFO I love city builders, the fact they're the perfect game to play when you want to chill out and don't want to do anything competitively. First seeing Tinytopia, I thought the setting was something out of Toy Story, but I was intrigued. What could possibly make this different than the rest out there? Let's find out. Let us know in the comments if you have played Tinytopia, or what your thoughts are. Gameplay There is nothing complicated about Tinytopia's gameplay. Each level is mostly the same, achieving a population goal or, constructing "...

Tormented Souls Review

Tormented Souls is the latest game to release in the survival horror genre. The Resident Evil and Alone in the Dark games pay heavy inspiration to Tormented Souls. British publisher PQube and Developer Dual Effect bring us this game. Tormented Souls is available now on Playstation Consoles, Xbox Consoles, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. I reviewed this game on the PlayStation 5. Tormented Souls - Never Accept Invitations To Strange Mansions Can I survive the mansion or will I disappear into the darkness? Continue reading to find out. Check out my previous review here where I played Spelunker HD Deluxe. Gameplay Tormented Souls brings back that feeling of dread that came from earlier titles. It has a fixed camera position and some jump scares. It is a welcome return to classic horror. Play...

Mosaic Chronicles Early Access Review

I recently took a look at Mosaic Chronicles, developed and published by Error300 for PC. The game entered early access on Steam on August 25th and appears to be one of two games currently in development by the small indie studio. Error300's website shows the game displayed on a phone, but I haven't been able to confirm if this will be an available platform. As the game title states, Mosaic Chronicles couples beautiful mosaic pieces of art together with a tale to follow along. Mosaic Chronicles definitely takes a different path to the puzzle game genre than that of my previous review of Seed of Life. Chill and Puzzle in Mosaic Chronicles The timing of my review for Mosaic Chronicles couldn't have been better. I just got home from a week-long vacation with my family and another family. On ...

Seed of Life Review

Seed of Life, developed by MadLight studio and published by Leonardo Interactive, became available for purchase through Steam on Wednesday, August 11th, 2021. Though Wednesday releases aren't common, this game is fairly unique as well. Seed of Life is an action-adventure puzzle game that will have you asking how much it takes to save a planet. MadLight studio, a small indie developer from Spain, sets up Seed of Life to be a visually pleasing and emotional journey. Sometimes the Hardest Puzzles to Solve are the Easiest in Seed of Life Over my thirty-some years of gaming, I can't say puzzle games fall high up in my library. The two main ones that stand out in my mind are Portal and Portal 2. Both felt mostly like puzzle games with a bit of story. However, Seed of Life is much more of a...

OCO Review

Straight out of an elementary school computer lab, comes OCO. A brand new puzzle game. OCO is a 2D puzzle platformer game developed by Spectrum48 and is a self-published game. It was released on August 12th, 2021 on PC, iOS, and Android. OCO - The Game Inspired by your Love of Cool Math Games Due to the game's minimalist design, I was kind of skeptical to play this. It seemed like a boring game, but I love a good puzzle game so I buckled down and gave it a shot. And with the inclusion of making your own levels, I got even more excited. So with that, here are my thoughts on OCO. If you are excited to play OCO or want to share your experience, leave a comment or a thumbs up. We always love to hear back. Gameplay As you could tell from screenshots and trailers, there isn't a plot t...

Glyph coming at us from publisher and developer Bolverk Games is a puzzle/adventure game with a lot of precision required. Launching August the 9th on PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch for only £17.99/$19.99 this really is a game you should have in your collection. You will have to navigate levels that become more difficult as you progress. I've been playing it and I have a little bit to share with you before the game releases. Now let's move on and get to the details. If you enjoyed this review you can check out my previous review for Deaths Door here, I would highly recommend checking that one out too. Toodee and Topdee Review

After cutting their teeth in a dozen game jams, dietzribi make their first commercial release with Toodee and Topdee. Having originally been a product of a game jam with the theme 'Combine two incompatible genres', Gonen and Ori decided to expand on the project and formally release it. Every once in a while a game comes out that does something new and you instantly think, 'How has no one tried this before?'. This is certainly one of those occasions. The story starts by explaining the creation of the universe. In the beginning, there was only Aleph. Aleph was a master of a special language that can turn words into worlds. He creates 8 worlds, balanced and kept safe by the mystical semi-colon. As he is filling the worlds with life, Glitches begin to appear. Toodoo, Alpeh's assistant, is c...

Song of Farca Review

Song of Farca is the second game by developer Wooden Monkeys, following Save Koch. Instantly you can tell that they've built upon the style of game they created with Save Koch for this new release. What they've brought to us here is a 2D story-driven hacker sim with plenty of puzzles and choices to make along the way. You play private investigator Isabella Song, or Izy, as she starts to rebuild her career after spending a stint in jail. You'll meet a number of interesting, recurring characters as a multi-threaded narrative weaves together and the consequences of your actions take shape. Black Mirror-esque themes emerge in a world where technology and corporations rule. Join me below as I take a deeper look at Song of Farca. Song of Farca - Can She Hack It?
