Lost In Random Review

Welcome to my review of Lost in Random. This game is brought to us by developers Zoink Games (Fe, Stick it to The Man!) and is published by EA Originals (Knockout City, It Takes Two). Lost in Random is a story about two sisters named Odd and Even. They get separated due to the roll of the dice which decides the fate of Odd, who is taken away by the Queen of Random. Lost In Random Decides The Fate Of Citizens With The Roll Of The Dice I was rather fortunate in being given a review copy of Lost in Random on the PlayStation 5. Can we complete our quest and save Odd as we play as Even through the different cities in the world of Random? Keep reading to find out. Check out my previous review here, where I played King's Bounty II on the Xbox. Gameplay In the world of Random, when children hi...

The Medium – PS5 Review

At Thumb Culture we are given the freedom to write our own experiences and thoughts about any game we review. You may be wondering what has this got to do with The Medium well back in February this year Martin reviewed the game using Xbox Game Pass via PC. The Medium - It Starts With A Dead Girl Martin had the following to say in his review: The graphics are absolutely phenomenal. Everything is dark and dingy yet this stands out in the crowd. The setting of the game is incredible. This game had me glued from start to finish, I wanted to know more about Marianne and her story and boy did it deliver You can read Martin's full review here Fast forward 7 months and Bloober Team have brought their psychological horror hit The Medium to PlayStation 5. Deathloop Review

Deathloop is finally here ladies and gentlemen.  Deathloop is a brand new IP developed by the brilliant minds at Arkane Studios who brought us Prey and Dishonored what can we expect? Well, the game director Ding Bakaba has described it as an "inverted Cluedo". It is essentially a big old murder mystery where you are stuck in a time loop played from a first-person perspective. It was originally announced at E32019 and again at the PlayStation 5 showcase in 2020 and scheduled to release later that year. But, after a couple of delays due to the ongoing pandemic, Deathloop is finally here. Deathloop - If At First, You Don't Succeed...Die, Die Again Since Microsoft acquired Zenimax Studios, the parent company of publishers Bethesda, they have honoured the agreement to make this a timed con...

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 Review

Just hear me out for a second. So, Sniper Elite and Hitman meet in a bar and have a few drinks together. It's all getting a bit amorous as the drinks are flowing. Soldier of Fortune is sitting in the corner thinking "I'm having some of this". They all go home together after many, many drinks. Nine months later, they give birth to a baby game. And that game is Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2. The Sniper Ghost Warrior series has had more misses than hits over the years, so it doesn't hurt to take a little inspiration from other stealth games. Especially when you have been lingering long in the shadow of a certain other sniper-based game that I have already mentioned. Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 - One Shot Too Many, Or Does It Hit The Mark? Polish developers CI Games has self-publishe...

I reviewed this game on the PlayStation 5. Tormented Souls - Never Accept Invitations To Strange Mansions Can I survive the mansion or will I disappear into the darkness? Continue reading to find out. Check out my previous review here where I played Spelunker HD Deluxe. Gameplay Tormented Souls brings back that feeling of dread that came from earlier titles. It has a fixed camera position and some jump scares. It is a welcome return to classic horror. Play...

Timothy’s Night Review

Welcome to my review of Timothy's Night on the PlayStation 5. Wild Sphere Games both developed and self-published this game. We play as an oddball gangster known as Timothy, who must save his city named Little Fish City from an alien invasion. The game is of the third-person perspective and is an open-world shooter with similar traits to games like Grand Theft Auto, Mafia, and Saints Row. The game is available now on PlayStation 5. Timothy's Night Isn't Your Typical Mafia Shooter Fun fact about this game, this is actually an expanded version of Timothy vs the Aliens which was on the PlayStation 4. So will Timothy have a good night in my review? Or should he have had an early night watching the telly? Continue reading to find out. You can check out my previous review here where I played t...

Islanders Console Edition Review

Today I bring you my review of one of the latest indie games to hit the PlayStation 5, Islanders Console Edition. This game was originally released on PC in April 2019 under the name of Islanders. It's brought to us by developers and self-publishers GrizzlyGames, who you may know from another hit game of theirs, Superflight. Islanders - More Relaxed Than Chuck Noland Sunbathing At Home The idea of Islanders Console Edition is for the player to build up a civilisation on procedurally-generated islands. Can I gain enough points to progress to the next island? or will I be throwing my beach ball into the sea? Continue reading to find out. Check out my previous review here where I played the retro-inspired shooter, KUR. Gameplay At first, we choose which game mode we want to play. High Sco...

Spelunker HD Deluxe Review

The Spelunker games are nearly as old as me, originally released in 1983. The game at its heart hasn't changed a massive amount as you walk, run and jump your way through cave systems.  Spelunker HD Deluxe is an update to Spelunker HD that was released on the Playstation 3. Published by ININ Games who actually focus on feel-good, and retro arcade games. Spelunker HD Deluxe - Stuck Between a Rock and a Hard Place If you like this review check out my previous review here where I played The Persistence Enhanced on the PlayStation 5. Let me know in the comments what you think of this review. Gameplay In the role of an adventurer, your goal is to get as deep into the cave system as possible. In your way stands snakes, ghosts, and a variety of fiendish traps. Adventure mode is where players ...

Deadly Days Review

Deadly Days has now launched on consoles following arriving on Steam towards the end of 2019. Developed by Pixel Split and published by Assemble Entertainment comes this Retro-inspired Zombie title. In Deadly Days Never Trust a MKing Burger For those that are unaware Deadly Days is a semi Strategic and Semi Roguelike Zombie game. The difference with this one is you actually get an explanation as to why the outbreak started. Gameplay The opening to the game gives you the background as to what has happened. Famous burger chain MKing has released a brand new burger, containing a secret "addictive" ingredient (with a view obviously to increase sales and profits - as with most evil cooperations) The side effect of this addictive ingredient is that it makes it really...REALLY addictive.
