Ghostrunner Review

Ghostrunner has received its PS5 and Xbox Series X release taking the originally released game to new heights.  Developed by One More Level, Slipgate Ironworks and 3D Realms, this cyberpunk parkour-samurai-ninja foray looks stunning.  With so much history steeped into the development companies, I was excited to get my PS5 switched on so I could get going! Ghostrunner - The Ultimate Version of Bop It! Should you have the PS4 version already then it is refreshing to know that the PS5 version is a free upgrade.  I wish others would follow suit! After playing the likes of Mirror's Edge, could I transfer any of my building leaping skills to Ghostrunner?  Let's get it on!  If you enjoy my review be sure to check out my past articles here. Gameplay Set in a post-apocalyptic cyberpunk w...

Diablo II Resurrected Review

If you were playing any looter game in the early 2000s, it was probably Diablo II. This game, back in the day, was considered a masterpiece and now it has a fresh coat of paint, and boy does it look good! I was studying in music college at the time and discovering new and old metal bands. These bands were my soundtrack to Diablo II, and they still are for Diablo II Resurrected. Many of my acquaintances had sunk thousands of hours into this genre-defining game, right up until the release of Diablo III. Diablo II Resurrected - "Not Even Death Can Save You From Me" As you probably know, Diablo II Resurrected is a role-playing ARPG developed and published by Blizzard. Vicarious Visions also had a hand in its development regarding the 3D implementation. Its original iteration was released in ...

Gley Lancer Review

As is the case in the 90's, many games weren't available to us here in the UK, and Gley Lancer was one of them. Originally it was published by Masaya and released in 1992 on the Sega Mega Drive and got ported to the Wii Virtual Console in 2008 with a translation in the manual. Now nearly 30 years later, the 16-bit shooter Gley Lancer has reached western shores fully loaded and fully translated. Gley Lancer - A New Enemy Approaches Ratalaika who are known for publishing ports and indie titles are present while Shinyden handles the porting duties. Gley Lancer will release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on October 15th, 2021. Shoot 'em ups were ten a penny back in the day, so what makes this one stand out? Read on to see what I thought of the...

Welcome to my review of Train Station Renovation. From the Polish development team, Live Motion Games, and publishers Ultimate Games S.A, I had the pleasure of playing this on the Xbox Series S. Train Station Renovation - Rushing Not Required. After you've read my review of Train Station Renovation, you can check out my previous review here, where I played Just Die Already also on the Xbox Series S. G-Darius HD Review

Not to be confused with the Pop Idol finalist Darius (remember him?), or the one-hit-wonder Dario G, who coincidentally released their hit 'Sunchyme' in the same year, G-Darius is originally an arcade game released in 1997. A year later the original PlayStation received a port and that is how I played it back in the day. I say that, I played a demo of it. In fact, I still have the demo from Official PlayStation Magazine with Tombi on the front as the main featured demo. G-Darius - Ain't No Sunchyme Here I remember enjoying it but I could not find the game anywhere, and it is still quite uncommon today. Since then it has been released on a few compilations. G-Darius was the first in the Darius series to use 3D polygons, but the gameplay remained in 2D. By 1997 shoot 'em ups were getting t...

Phoenix Point: Behemoth Edition Proves It's Not All About X-COM So with two big hitters in the gaming industry behind Phoenix Point: Behemoth Edition, can it hit as hard as some of the X-COM games have done in the past? Continue reading to find out. You...

WRC 10 Review

It's Autumn, which means it's time for another WRC game. Often with annual releases, updates are usually quite minimal, but that's not always necessarily the case. WRC 10 builds upon the successes of the previous game which was already a huge leap forward from its predecessors. A lot of the game is largely the same, so we will briefly touch upon those points but focus more on the updates. WRC 10 - It's a Bit Dirtier Developed again by KT Racing and published by Nacon, the franchise is also set for another year. WRC 10 was released almost a year to the day since WRC 9 on September 2nd, 2021, and is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC, with a release planned for Nintendo Switch at a later date. Check out my review for WRC 9 here for an in-depth l...

Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan Review

Rainbow Billy is a colourful, wholesome, fun-packed game developed by ManaVoid Entertainment. It was originally a Kickstarter project back in May 2018 but has since won Ubisoft Indie Series Grand Prize and received funding from the Canada Media Fund. Looking back at the Kickstarter after having played the game it's easy to see where the extra time and funding have been used to improve the initial showing. The World of Imagination has fallen under a curse, cast by the monochromatic, evil Leviathan. The Leviathan is determined to make Billy and the rest of the world abandon their hopes and joys in favour of accepting a bleak reality. It's up to Billy, and their friends, to travel around the world, cheer everyone up and restore the colour. Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan - In A ...

Inked: A Tale Of Love Review

Welcome to my PlayStation review of Inked: A Tale of Love. The game is a puzzle-platform game. It is the debut game from developers Somnium Games who are a small team of artists and programmers. It is published by a couple of publishers, Starbreeze Studios (Payday, Payday 2, Overkills The Walking Dead) for PC and Pixmain (My Time at Portia, Hundred Days) for consoles. The story in Inked: A Tale of Love is based around love and a rogue samurai who is called Nameless Hero, on his quest for his true love, Aiko. I played the game on the PlayStation 5. The game is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Life Is Strange: True Colors – PS5 Review

I have long been a fan of the Life Is Strange series, as such I jumped at the chance to review the brand new title by Deck Nine True Colors.  The series has always been episodic, except The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit which served as a prequel/story addition for Life Is Strange 2. Life Is Strange: True Colors is the first full title to be released in its entirety. Having this in mind I was really interested in how True Colors would fit the emotion into it. Will the choice to move away from episodic affect True Colors? Taking on the role of Alex Chen is an emotional rollercoaster. For those unfamiliar with the Life Is Strange series, strap in. If there is one thing that the series is good at, it's pulling at those heartstrings. True Colors continues the series style of a story-ba...
