Pro Cycling Manager 2019 PC Review – Tour de France or Tour De Farce

Pro Cycling Manager 2019 Season is Developed by Cyanide Studio and published by Bigben Interactive and is you've guessed correctly, its a cycling management game which was released on PC on the 27th June. Gameplay When starting a new career game, you have the choice of managing a whole team or just a rider which you can create. Picking a team to manage allows you to choose from a selection of teams of varying skill/difficulty. Choosing to manage a rider allows you to create a rider, albeit, with a limited amount of customisation, you can adjust their level of skill and specialisation as well as their overall potential over their career. After setting up either, you’re faced with a lot of menus. For a new player, I would say this would be potentially overwhelming. There is pretty...

The Blackout Club PC Review – See With Your Eyes Closed

The Blackout Club is a first-person co-op horror game launched on July 30th on PC, Xbox & PS4 that involves a group of teenage friends investigating a monstrous secret in their town, sounds familiar right? *cough* stranger things *cough*. You and up to 4 players can explore and carry out missions against an enemy that you can only …...wait for it……..see with your eyes closed!!!! Let’s jump in and see what I thought of The Blackout Club. Gameplay “Every night, everyone in town gets out of bed and sleepwalks. In the morning, they wake up with no recollection of what happened or where they were.” The Blackout Club is set in a quiet modern neighbourhood full of houses, as you’d expect, but is situated around the edge of the woods but with a mysterious subterranean network ...

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II PS4 Review – JRPG Heaven

Remastered games have become more popular & frequent over the last couple of years, so it’s hardly surprising that one of the most popular PS3 / PS vita JRPGs has joined the club. Nihon Falcom did this by bringing their Legend of Heroes series to us on the PS4. Now they have added the 2nd part of the story to this gen in Trails of Cold Steel II. This is a perfectly timed release as Trails of Cold Steel III is due to make an appearance later this year. Being completely honest and upfront, when asked to do this review I had no prior experience of this franchise, in any format. So, to try and ensure my review wasn’t biased by a lack of knowledge on my part I did a little light reading up on the first title, just to make sure I had an idea of the story before getting stuck in. In the...

I’m Hungry PS4 VR Review

I’m Hungry VR is the latest release from Winking Corp and was served upon Playstation VR on 8th July 2019. It vaguely resembles a first-person, VR version of Overcooked, with your task being to step into the grease-spattered shoes of an over-worked burger stand jockey and makeup food orders for a never-ending queue of wacky characters. Gameplay I'm Hungry VR follows a level-based format. Upon loading up the first level you'll find the tools used to prepare the various calorific nightmares on the menu line the cramped confines of your kiosk, with an ice cream machine, trays containing burger components, a soda dispenser and a chip fryer all within arm's reach. Preparing each item involves a couple of steps, requiring you to hit buttons, pull levers and wait for timers to expire. There ...

Developed by Jo-Mei Games and Published by EA, Sea of Solitude is centred around the essence of loneliness and is based during the emotional time of the CEO of Jo-Mei Games, Cornelia Geppert's life. It seemed like a game that could easily pull on your heartstrings and something you can get emotionally involved in. Let's face our monsters. Gameplay You play as Kay, a young woman, as she takes on her journey of loneliness which is po...

Graveyard Keeper Switch Review – That Sir, Will Cost An Arm And A Leg

Netflix documentaries about murders, or when people die never truly go into what happens, do they just use your ashes? are you dumped off by a donkey on a roadside and chopped apart to have your flesh used as meat? Instead of reading the usual celebrity books I would whilst I was sat on the beach I " switched " things up and took my trusty switch and dived into one of the greatest time-consuming games I have discovered yet. Graveyard Keeper is brought to us wonderful developers Lazy Bear games and publishers Tinybuild as they've already given us great games such as punch club, Pandemic Express and more including many titles coming onto the switch. Gameplay According to the cut scene, you're starting off in some kind of freak accident. Something that not only takes you away from yo...

Fade To Silence PC Review – A Game Of Solitude

Hi everyone. Today I will be letting you know about Fade To Silence, which has been developed by Black Forest Games and published by THQ Nordic GmbH. Fade To Silence is available on PS4, XB1 and PC. My outing will be done using the Steam Version with the PC   Gameplay Fade To Silence is not a game for new gamers. It's a punishing game that does not forgive you for poor judgement. It will not hold your hand, so make sure you have your big boy/girl pants on. Fade To Silence is based in a post-apocalyptic frozen wasteland. You play a character called Ash. You have to gather resources just to stay alive. Fade To Silence sets you up with limited lives and permadeath. To those of you who don't know what that means, it's simple. When you run out of lives it's game over, no contin...

Pool Nation PS4 Review – No Drinks On The Table Please

Pool Nation by Manchester-based devs Cherry Pop Games and published by Wired Productions is a photo-realistic billiards simulator where you have the chance to start a single-player career, beat your friends in a one on one while sitting on the couch as well as play against online buddies around the world.  In what is, in essence, an overhauled version of the PS3 classic from years gone by with added features, will Pool Nation have you reaching for the chalk or leaving the pub early? Gameplay Pool Nation brings to the table a vast variety of game modes to test your cue wielding ways.  I do enjoy a good billiard game albeit 8ball or 9ball as it is one of the few games in real-life that I play better after a beer (drink responsibly!).  So what do you have on offer in Pool Nation? Wel...

Tour de France: Season 2019 Xbox One Review – Sadly A Tour de Farce

We have the pleasure of a guest reviewer today! folks meet Si Woodhams who is not only an amazing drummer in my band, but also knows a thing or two when it comes to cycling, definitely essential in order to undertake this gaming review! I should start this review by saying I am a cyclist and yes I wear the lycra to go with it as well. Therefore, you would think when the biggest cycling race in the world decides it needs a video game to go with it, it would live up to all the excitement we have had over the last 3 weeks of actual racing, sadly Tour de France: Season 2019 (TdF 2019) from Bigben Interactive failed to live up to that in more than one way. Gameplay Let’s get the good bits out of the way first! There are all of the 21 stages of the TdF 2019, plus a whole host of t...
