Sea of Thieves Review – The Seas Have Calmed

It has been a whilesince Rare’s swashbuckling title, Sea of Thieves launched. A highly anticipated title with many players, including myself being desperate to jump into the salty seas. However, to point out again, it has been a while since Sea of Thieves launched, and I feel it’s a good time to see how the game plays now that the tide of excitement has lowered. I saw Sea of Thieves grow from way back in the early months of 2017. Playtests had just got started in fact. I think I was the second wave of players to get accepted, but I didn’t get to play much. I knew from my short time with it though, that it was something nice and that the community was excited amongst one another in the private forums. February 2018 saw more playtests taking place as the game grew closer to launch,...

CoolPaintr VR Review: Highlighting The Limits Of My Imagination

Video games can be like taking selfies with the filter switched on. It’s still you in there, but the version of you that you want the world to see. You play a driving game and get to live out your fantasies of being a racing driver, or getaway driver if that’s more your thing. A first person shooter will get you crawling through the battlefield, bravely leading team mates into the line of fire. A role playing game will have you walking the wasteland or exploring the mountains, all without leaving your house. Although CoolPaintr VR isn't a game, its no different. You go into it with a million ideas, creation at your fingertips and all of the power of VR to realise it. The only limitation is your imagination and you go in with the assumption that your imagination is limitless. Cool...

Shoppe Keep 2 Preview – Granville, Fetch Your Hammer!

Shoppe Keep was a wonderful shop management title, played from a first-person perspective with a strong focus on just selling items to customers. It didn’t really venture further than that, and it was hard to get into due to the progression system feeling lacklustre. Shoppe Keep 2 is here to change the game. Shoppe Keep had always been a fun experience no matter how many times I revisited it. Sadly the initial enjoyment of earning enough money to upgrade the store ending up feeling like more work than it needed to be. Customers didn’t flock in, but those that did lobbed your items like a tired bull trying to cause chaos. Shoppe Keep 2 arrives on Early Access with a much stronger focus on management than its predecessor. It also seems to feel just as sluggish in gameplay as the previous ...

Murderous Pursuits Preview – Making Assassination More Fun

If you prefer to eliminate your foes with stealth, and tactics rather than running in, all guns/swords blazing, then you might be interested in jumping on ship during the Jurassic Period, with Murderous Pursuits. Blazing Griffin’s assassination focused multi-player title, Murderous Pursuits ran an Open Beta from the 20th of April 2018, until 5am Monday 2018. Now, this one for me had been hiding away. I had seen nothing of the title anywhere before the open beta announcement until a friend of mine told me about it. So it was a lovely surprise to see it a few hours before it went live. Now, Murderous Pursuits is the toned-down equivalent where if Assassin’s Creed and Dishonored had a baby, and merged that DNA with a hint of The Ship, this is what you’d see birthed. The reason I mention...

Agony has released an announcement trailer today, bringing details of the release date and pre-orders being available, But it hasn't been an easy journey. Agony, developed by Madmind Studio is a first-person horror experience that finds players attempting to push through the demonic territories and survive, while transferring their soul to other empty, human shaped vessels. The title is due to arrive on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
