WRC 10 Review

It's Autumn, which means it's time for another WRC game. Often with annual releases, updates are usually quite minimal, but that's not always necessarily the case. WRC 10 builds upon the successes of the previous game which was already a huge leap forward from its predecessors. A lot of the game is largely the same, so we will briefly touch upon those points but focus more on the updates. WRC 10 - It's a Bit Dirtier Developed again by KT Racing and published by Nacon, the franchise is also set for another year. WRC 10 was released almost a year to the day since WRC 9 on September 2nd, 2021, and is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC, with a release planned for Nintendo Switch at a later date. Check out my review for WRC 9 here for an in-depth l...

NBA 2K22 Review

With the launch of NBA 2K22 from Visual Concepts, what is new for this edition, and is it a slam dunk for the basketball simulation? NBA 2K22 - seeking perfection As with most annual sporting releases, the updates made to the previous year's edition are very minor. 2021's edition, which you can read up on here, was all about the jump to the Next-gen of consoles and taking advantage of the super-fast load times as well as graphical improvements, NBA 2K22 is no different and takes full advantage of these technological advances. Other gameplay updates are much more subtle and you may struggle to spot them. Gameplay Updates The last edition of NBA 2K game I played was the 2020 version and the gameplay has always been of the highest standard.  This didn't stop certain players from feelin...

Action Arcade Wrestling Review

From developers VICO Game Studio, and published by Reverb Triple XP we have Action Arcade Wrestling. Available on Nintendo Switch, Steam, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 for the low price of $14.99/£12.49 respectively. With an aim to recreate the feeling of the 16-bit wrestling games. Does it succeed in this aim? We aim to answer that question. Action Arcade Wrestling - Bringing back the old school Being an old wrestling fan of 22 years, I have been playing the games for many years also. Before your WWE 2K games, and even before your WWF Raw and No Mercy games, you had the 16-bit era of games. The ones I have the most memories of are WWF Super Wrestlemania and WWF Royal Rumble. Although similar, there are some differences and in some cases improvements, which I will get to in this review. If...

Super Arcade Football Review

Welcome to my review of Super Arcade Football. It is self-published and developed by OutOfTheBit Limited (Super Arcade Racing, Wild Baffo). Super Arcade Football is available now on PC, Apple iOS, and the Google Play Store for Android. It is a retro-inspired football game that pays homages to the classic Sensible Soccer. Super Arcade Football Smashes It Into The Back Of The Net! Will Super Arcade Football win the league? Or will it be relegated to the bottom of the pile? Continue reading to find out. Check out my previous review here where I played the long-awaited King's Bounty II. Gameplay So straight off the bat (or ball?), we are introduced to our main character in the game who is coincidentally named Martin. That is the default name of our protagonist and can not be changed. I jus...

Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions - Not Much Of A Knockout You'll be hard-pressed to not find a fan of the Rocky movies and when Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions I couldn't help but get excited. A video game based on the Rocky franchise where you could play as the likes of Clubber Lang and Ivan Drago is a match made in heaven. Guts ‘N Goals Review

Developed by CodeManu and published by PM Studios Inc (Hoa), I bring you Guts 'N Goals. A sports title with a difference, in fact, a football title with a difference. I say that as you do not, I repeat do not use your feet all that much. You are probably wondering, well how is even a football title? Well read on and I will explain everything to you. Always Bring Your Bat To Game Day In Guts 'N Goals! This isn't my usual pick-up, I usually stay far away from football titles. I won't lie, it is because I am awful at them. However I did think to myself, how bad could I be at a top-down pixel-art football title where fouling is the way forward? Join me as I check out Guts 'N Goals. Gameplay Guts 'N Goals has an extremely simple concept, two teams battling it out and scoring goals. Obviousl...

Golf Club: Wasteland Review

Post-apocalyptic golf sim Golf Club: Wasteland comes from developer Demagog Studio and publisher Untold Tales. I first became aware of this game through being in the Untold Tales Discord server following reviewing Beautiful Desolation (review here). From then I kept my eye on it and even had a question answered in a Q&A with the developers, which you can find on the Untold Tales YouTube page. The clean and low-detail aesthetic of the game grabbed my attention right from the unveil and can't wait to jet-pack my way around the golf course. Golf Club: Wasteland - Fancy a back 9 on the 3rd rock? If I was to take the Earth and repurpose it, post-apocalypse, for the ultra-wealthy, I'd have settled on a hunting reserve. What could you imagine the husk of our planet being used for when it is...

Always remember watching it on a Sunday night on Channel 4. But I admit that I only started playing the EA titles around 2010. I always get excited at this time of year when a new game in the franchise is released. But are they just getting boring now or is there still some life left? Top 5 Rocket League Collaborations

Rocket League is one of those games that people love to hate, but also hate to love. Previously known by the more catchy title Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars. It is a title that most people have in their library these days. Some gamers will pick it up have a few games and put it down due to the game mechanics. Some gamers are so competitive (on the non-competitive modes might I add) that the games become saltier than the sea. However! Rocket League also has the gamers in between that love a bit of competitive action, however, they also play it to have fun. Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars! I was really late to the Rocket League game, it was just something I never picked up. Always saw other gamers on it having fun but I never jumped the gun. However, aroun...
