PlayStation has revealed the PlayStation Plus free monthly games for April 2025. This month’s games cover a good range of genres, so there’s quite possibly something for everyone. These games are available between April 1st and May 5th. Remember that even if you don’t plan to play these games immediately, you should still add them to your library when they become available. That way, you can check them out at any time — as long as you have an active sub.
RoboCop: Rogue City | PS5
Genre: FPS
Longevity: 10hrs+ | Trophies: 28 (incl Platinum)
Metacritic: 72 | OpenCritic: 73
Legendary actor Peter Weller returns as RoboCop in this shooter-adventure set between the events of RoboCop 2 and 3. TC’s Vinno gave RoboCop: Rogue City a Thumb Culture Gold Award, saying “There will be plenty for you to get involved with along the way. From issuing tickets to illegally parked cars, getting a get well soon card signed around the precinct to, of course, shooting your way through hordes of gang members”. Over the top violence and classic one-liners await you on the streets of Detroit.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre | PS4, PS5
Genre: Asymmetrical Horror
Longevity: 50hrs+ | Trophies: 52 (incl Platinum)
Metacritic: 72 | OpenCritic: 75
Another entry into the asymmetrical horror genre made popular by Dead By Daylight, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre pits 4 survivors against 3 villains in short rounds. When Iain reviewed the PS5 version in September 2023 he found it to be lacking balance, but felt that with some adjustments, it could be fun. Hopefully, Gun Interactive have taken on-board the post-launch feedback and fine-tuned the experience. PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to try for themselves for free next month.
Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory | PS4
Genre: RPG
Longevity: 45hrs+ | Trophies: 46 (incl Platinum)
Metacritic: 73 | OpenCritic: 72
Hacker’s Memory is the 2017 prequel to 2015’s Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth. Discover, train and battle over 300 Digimon and help prove Keisuke’s innocence. Although this is a later entry into the Cyber Sleuth adventure, you’ll be fine to start with this one thanks to the events coming before the story of the first game.
Don’t Forget
You’ve got a few days, until March 31st, to add March’s games to your library, so act now before it’s too late. We’ll be back in a couple of weeks with the PlayStation Plus catalogue update for April.
