Warhammer: Chaosbane Beta PC – A refreshing Action-RPG

I've always been a fan of Diablo and have recently re-discovered my love for Diablo 3 since its release on the Nintendo Switch, Warhammer: Chaosbane caught my eye. Upon first looking at the game, developed by Eko Software,  you could be forgiven for comparing it to Diablo but upon playing it, you soon release that Warhammer: Chaosbane has simply been inspired by it and added the whole world of Warhammer by placing right into the heart of the game. There are a few good Warhammer games out at present with the release of Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 recently and Last year Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr which also was an Action RPG but didn't score that high. The game is currently in Beta which runs from March the 7th until March the 13th and it's officially released on the 4th of...

Hitman HD Collection PS4 Review – You Are In My Crosshairs

Hitman HD Collection by IO interactive is available now for Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Gameplay Hitman HD Collection is two games in one. Firstly you have Hitman: Absolution and secondly is Hitman: Bloodmoney. Both these games have been remastered to 4k resolution with enhanced graphics with 60fps. Now I am a longtime fan of the Hitman series since the original PC releases, so I was very happy to receive a review code to revisit my time as Agent 47. All the classic weapons are here from your Silverballers to fiber wire and poisons. Depending on how you choose to play each of these games will change your experience as Agent 47. Personally I love to take my time and wait for the perfect moment to strike. There is nothing better than treating each hit provided like a work ...

Anthem Pc Review – Bringing The Thunder And Raining Fire

Playing through the Origin Premiere access early week of Anthem I have just one thing to say to the developers at Bioware: Bravo. Anthem is a game I've been looking forward to since it was initially announced at E3 2017, and my excitement has been met with an experience that is incredibly fun to play. I know a lot of people were hesitant to trust in a game being published by EA due to their sordid history with loot boxes, but there is no presence of loot boxes anywhere in the game that I've been able to find. Sure there are microtransactions, but none of them offers a paid advantage to players, only cosmetic items for customising the look of your Javelin. Development for Anthem started way back in 2012 and had been kept relatively secretive until it was teased at E3 2014 by Bioware Edmo...

Do you want a rally game that is both immersive and entertaining? Well then look no further than Codemasters lastest release Dirt Rally 2.0, released on PS4, Xbox One and PC we return to the gravel tracks, asphalt roads and winding tracks. Gameplay Without teaching you to suck eggs, Dirt Rally 2.0 is an immersive and deep rally game that brings new elements to an already brilliant game (Dirt Rally). I put a massive amount of time into the previous iteration, but was left feeling a little let down with the lack of post-release content, only a few rallycross tracks saw that mode let behind, but with Dirt Rally 2.0 we get 8 rallycross tracks and a whole bunch of new locations for you to race around. Being the official racing game of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, you get to ra...

Dead or Alive 6 PS4 Review – King of the… Oh Wait!?

Dead or Alive 6 is the latest in a fairly long running franchise from Team Ninja. Personally, I don’t have too much experience with this particular series, however, I am a big ‘Beat’em up’ fan so when given the chance to review this I was looking forward to it. Everyone knows the DOA games, however not necessarily for the fighting, it has a somewhat rough reputation as ‘oh the one with the bouncing breasts’ which, while true enough is a little harsh in my opinion (at least going into the review). The Developers did make it clear that Dead or Alive 6 would be a much more serious entry into this genre and offer more in the lines of competition and less ‘jiggle’ mechanics. So, does this game offer more than a little titillation? Let’s find out… Gameplay Dead or Alive 6 is split int...

Observer Nintendo Switch Review – The Handheld Horror You Can’t Put Down

Ladies, Gents and Cyborgs, I give you our latest addition to the Thumb Culture family, Coral!  Enjoy her first review! Observer is a psychological horror game developed by the Bloober team and published by Aspyr. The game was released on PlayStation 4, Xbox one, Pc in 2017 and very recently the Nintendo switch. It is based in 2084 and begins by telling you about a “digital plague”. You play as a man called Daniel Lazarski aka Observer, who is a detective. The future is robotic arms, legs, hearts and metal bits in your head, atleast this is how the Bloober team envision the year 2084 to be. If you’re wanting a game that keeps you in the moment and truly zoned into the storyline, Observer is the one for you! From buzzing residents of the creepy slums block to going to the tattoo shop for ...

Youtubers Life OMG! Xbox1 Review – Eat, Sleep, Edit Video, Repeat…..

I think it best that I add a caveat before starting my review of Youtubers Life OMG! I'm old. Well, old in gaming terms. I don't play Fortnite (cue the haters lol!) and can remember when games were in black and white, there were only three tv channels, Freddo's cost 1p and Wagon wheels were bigger etc, etc. Hopefully you get the gist! However I also understand and indeed use Twitch, Youtube, Instagram, Snapchat and most forms of social media. I also know who Joe Sugg is (unfortunately) and Arron Crascall, Discoboy, Jake Paul, Pewdiepie and others of that ilk. However Youtubers Life OMG! is not really aimed at the likes of me. It is very much for a younger audience who aspire to have a Youtube channel and become social media influencers. When I think of social media influencers I immediatel...

ROCCAT Taito XXL & ROCCAT Sense XXL Mousepad Review – Do You Really Need a Mousepad?

Short answer: Yes. Long Answer: Depends on the situation. Don't get me wrong, we have come a long way since the days of a balled mouse where you would have to pick fluff out in order to keep it working and to stick to a thick pad.  Then came the Lazer mouse which, in gaming terms, was essential to have the darkest mat finish to a pad to ensure the higher DPI. However these days, mice seem to have an optical lens which, in theory, should perform on any surface…. but do they? If you have a non-reflective surface which, even after lots of mouse usage, doesn't hurt your hand, then you’re pretty much good to go.  However, if you have a shiny desk like myself which can often cause the mouse to skip and use a low DPI and sensitivity in games that require a lot of mouse movement, then ...

Green Hell – A fresh kind of Hell

When given the opportunity to dive into another early access survival crafting game, I was hesitant... the whole food/water scavenging and building a grass hut thing is something I'm all too familiar with. Developed and published by Creepy Jar for the PC Green Hell is an early access survival crafting game set in the Amazon Rainforest. Green Hell is a game I've had my eye on since it was first announced, as it looked to be a bit more on the hardcore side when compared to some of the other survival offerings on Steam. Grab your sharpened sticks, it's time to dive into the jungle. Gameplay Green Hell is a hardcore psychological survival crafting game. There isn't much story in it yet as it's in Early Access. When the game officially launches there will be a  campaign where you have...

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 PC Review – Commence the Deadly Space Battles!

Cast your mind back to January 1997. A 13-year-old me was going to Toy R Us, an annual tradition in my household, to spend my Christmas money on a new game for our first home PC.  With an array of games to choose from, I picked up Command & Conquer: Red Alert.  Although I have played many genres of games over the years, the RTS genre is the one I will always return to since love of them first began on that day. Somehow, maybe because of the number of games that seem to be released weekly, I missed the first Battlefleet Gothic: Armada even though it was on my “list”. I  just never got around to playing it but it always reviewed quite highly. Luckily I was able to set aside some time to play the second instalment Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 from Tindalos Interactive developers whi...
