Worbital Review – Ready, Aim, Fire!

Worbital, developed by Team Jolly Rodger and published by Advanced Interactive Gaming is a real-time strategic artillery game set in space where you must build a whole host of weapon and defense platforms on your orbiting planet while trying to blow up the enemy ones! Out now across all consoles and PC, was I going to find Worbital out of this world or a failed launch? Gameplay Worbital, from the game title I was left to think that this game would be something to do war and orbiting, I was happy when I got it right! The basis of this game is a simple one however when it comes to strategy and timing, you will really need to keep your wits about you amongst the chaos!  Reveal the core of the enemy planet and blow it up! There is a campaign mode that lets you play through a sto...

Coffee Talk Xbox Review – Spilling The Tea On It

Are you ready for some hot, hot tea on Coffee Talk, the newly released indie game from Toge Productions? Well good, because you’ve come to the right place. Pull up a chair and allow me to pour you a hot cup of coffee, which I’ve got pretty good at over the last few hours of playing this game. Available now on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Switch, Coffee Talk’s central premise of caffeinated chill is a fascinating concept, but one that might leave some gamers out in the cold. Gameplay The main theme of Coffee Talk is that of listening to the problems of others and trying to help them while you serve them warm drinks on a rainy night in Seattle. That’s kind of it. The cast of characters is rich and varied, and while the dialogue is perhaps a little stilted at times, their stories touch on s...

Speedrunners Review – No Guns Needed

Speedrunners is a multiplayer side-scrolling racing game developed by DoubleDutch Games and published by tinyBuild. Speedrunners was originally a free web browser game. It was then expanded into a fully released game via Steam on 19th April 2016. It has been in Steam Early Access since 2013. Speedrunners were later released on Xbox One in June 2017, PS4 in June 2017 and just recently on Nintendo Switch on January 23rd, 2020. Gameplay I must start off by saying I already love Speedrunners. Currently, I have it on PC and it is a must game to play with friends. I have countlessly played this fun little side scroller with 3 friends for hours on end laughing our heads off whilst being very competitive at the same time. So when I had the opportunity to give this title a go on my 2nd favour...

Zombie Army 4: Dead War Review – Dead Shot

Lumbering on to the PS4 this week is Rebellion's Zombie Army 4: Dead War. Is this the heart pumping, sphincter tightening zombie action game you've been waiting for, or a decomposing, rotten entry in an over-saturated genre? Gameplay The cor(ps)e mechanics of Zombie Army 4 are the same as previous entries. With tight shooting and some hellish slow-motion sniper kills, the game feels responsive and satisfying when annihilating the countless amount of zombies. Each of the game's 9 missions is themed and presented like a classic Hammer Horror, showing that the developers understanding of the genre. Missions are quite simplistic and as a result of this, you may feel a bit brain dead running from one point to another and then shooting endless zombies. There is some variety, such as blo...

Monster Energy Supercross 3 Review- All Revved Up

Developer’s Milestone brings us Monster Energy Supercross 3, the third instalment of the series. The latest title promises new gameplay. How will it fair up against previous games in the series? We have seen a lot of negativity about this port but is it really that bad? Monster Energy Supercross 3 will hit the shelves on February 4th 2020 across multiple platforms. Gameplay I think I should start by saying I am not going to be comparing each and every aspect of Monster Energy Supercross 3 to the PC/Console versions. We all know the other versions will be better graphically. Let’s put that aside and celebrate what the title brings to the Nintendo Switch. Before playing any mode, you start by creating your own character. There isn’t as much as a selection in terms of customisations;...

Heroland Nintendo Review – The Backseat Warrior

Have you dreamed of being the hero of your own epic adventure? Heroland is the place for you. Face epic monsters, explore the darkest of dungeons and carve your legend. Well, that's on the pamphlet for this park at least. Pick up this game, and you can live out your dreams of being a tour guide! Ok, so it's not the conventional dream. But when members of the development team worked on Mother 3, what else would you expect? Developed by FuRyu, and published by XSeed Games, Heroland opens for business on the 31st January, for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC. Gameplay What sets Heroland apart is how its battles are fought. The Surge 2 The Kraken DLC Review – Get Descartes

The Surge 2 released on PS4 on 24 September 2019. You can check out my review here. The Kraken is purchasable as part of the Surge 2 season pass, which also comes with additional weapons and gear, for £19.99. You can also grab the mission on its own for £9.49. The Kraken takes place aboard, well, The Kraken; a sea-faring vessel housing a retro-futurist town which has been designed to allow residents to escape the tumult of the mainland. You are lured to the ship by Sidney Turner, who is attempting to withstand an attack from a troupe of robotic pirates and a troublesome rogue AI. Expect rather shallow musings on what it means to be alive (with the "I think therefore I am" quote from Descartes shovelled in for good measure) and a couple of choices over the course of the narrative. My ...

Creative Pebble V2 Review – Small Yet Mighty

Creative is well known in the PC hardware market, for their affordable speakers as well as more high-end products. So when they reached out and said they had a set of the Pebble V2 that I could get my hands on, I jumped at the opportunity. So having received them just before Christmas it was time to put them to work through a multitude of scenarios. How did they sound? Well, let's take a deeper dive and find out! Features As with any speakers, generally, you look at performance overlooks (for the most part) and the Pebble V2 is no exception in this area. With a stereo 2.0 system in place, it uses USB-C to power that pair of 2" full-range drivers. Along with a high gain switch, so if your plugging the Pebble V2 into a 10W source then you will get the advantage of rich audio, with super...

Ultimate Fishing Simulator PCVR Review – If There’s Better, Let Minnow.

In a world where the term Virtual Reality is almost synonymous with the likes of Beat Saber and Boneworks it’s quite refreshing to sit back and relax whilst playing arguably one of the most in-depth games I’ve witnessed in VR. Ultimate Fishing Simulator; developed by Bit Golem and published by Ultimate Games S.A. as part of a Kickstarter campaign back in 2017, shows you that you don’t need crazy physics or frantic rhythm to have an immersive and fun virtual experience. Gameplay It’s worth noting at this stage that I have zero real-world knowledge of fishing outside of needing a rod, a bit of bait and to cast off into some water. It turns out fishing is a lot more complex than I had ever fathomed. I’ve started wrapping my head around line tension, different reels, even the size of the hoo...
