Codemasters Acquires Slightly Mad Studios

Codemasters announced yesterday that is has agreed to acquire Slightly Mad Studios. Meanwhile, we all know Slightly Mad Studios for their racing simulations titles. We believe this is an extremely good business move for Codemasters. Subsequently, they will acquire the position as a world-leading developer and game publisher for racing titles. However, both companies have created some brilliant AAA titles. Codemasters has over 30 years in this gaming arena. They have been a UK leader for racing titles and created the critically acclaimed  DiRT and GRID games. Slightly Mad Studios have been in the arena for over 10 years. Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes – Touchdown?

Introduction Grasshopper Manufacture has brought us the next instalment in the ongoing adventures of Travis Touchdown. Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes is a delve into the world of computer games with some great references and appropriate homage, time to dust off my old joystick and start banging my buttons. Gameplay Part of me doesn't really want to give anything away about Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes and let everything be a joyous surprise. However, that would make me a bad reviewer! So I had better do a good impression of a professional. I could tell you that you move the sticks and press the buttons to make Travis the most awesome badass character to ever be in a video game, but that is stating the obvious. Attack, the baddies, kill the baddies, don't let the baddie...

Developed by the YS Net team after a successful Kickstarter campaign, Shenmue 3 is very much intended to be a game for the fans, funded by the fans. In the hopes to finally give us an ending to this adventure. Before we get into the review, I would like to take this time to thank Koch Media for sending me the goodies included in the collectors edition along with the game, I can confirm that the LightBox looks amazing and the Dragon / Phoenix Mirrors will be kept safe from those who wish to use them for evil purposes. The question is, does Shenmue 3 live up to almost 20 years of anticipation and hype? Does a game franchise from 20 ...

Flotsam – A Game Of Trash Which Is A Genuine Treasure

Introduction Bravo, Pajama Llama Games, Bravo. While I’ve never been a big fan of city-builder games before. Flotsam really flipped my skepticism on its head by downscaling this to more of a town-builder. After spotting this game for the first time at EGX 2019. I have been keen to get my hands on it and give it a go for myself. Flotsam is already well-known in the Indie gaming scene. It has picked up both the Most Promising Belgian Game at the Belgian Game Awards and Best Unity Game at Gamescom in 2019. And I can see why. Let me explain what Flotsam is all about. You’re in control of building a town from the remnants of cast-off junk thrown into the sea in a post-apocalyptic world, and you’re responsible for the wellbeing of its inhabitants: the ‘Drifters’. With needs such as health, h...

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends is releasing in Europe on the Nintendo Switch on November 19th 2019. There will also be a special edition following in December. So, when Bubble Bobble 4 Friends came across my desk, I was interested to see how the franchise had progressed. Let's dive into this European exclusive game and see how it is, shall we? Ready?...
