Bee Simulator – Unentitled Bee Game

Have you recently been charmed by the meme-spawning Untitled Goose Game and if so are you looking for another mischievous creature to inhabit, like some kind of awful body-snatcher? Bee Simulator, which is developed by VARSAV Game Studios and published by Big Ben Interactive, might appear to have you covered on the surface. Unfortunately, it's a case of buyer bee-ware this time around. Bee Simulator isn't likely to scratch your animal simulator itch, and at £34.99 you might feel a sting in your wallet too. It released on PS4, Switch and Xbox One on November 14th 2019. Gameplay Bee Simulator is initially charming, with gorgeous presentation and a promising opening section demonstrating basic flight mechanics. Unfortunately, Bee Simulator quickly becomes tedious. As you might exp...

Roccat Khan AIMO Headset – Multi Directional Marvel

Back in 2018, Roccat brought out a successor to the Khan Pro headset, effectively upgrading from a stereo speaker system to an all-singing all-dancing Hi-Res 7.1 surround sound monster, also with the addition of some funky RGB lighting.  Having a pretty basic soundcard on my PC, I was keen to see how the Roccat Khan AIMO would enhance my immersion when playing games as well as listening to movies.  Shut your eyes, crank up that volume and let's dive in! Design & Comfort The Roccat Khan AIMO does not look massively spectacular as you remove it from the box.  On first perception, there is a lot of black plastic and plush leather which did not make me want to say "wow look at these!" straightaway.  The rigid mic boom can be swiveled from it's upright position (mic muted) to it's low...

Narcos: Rise of the Cartels – Netflix Comes To Life

Introduction Narcos: Rise of the Cartels, developed by Kuju, is based on the Netflix hit series Narcos. Set in Columbia, it's a chance to delve into the ever present drug trade in the region. Time to pick my side and start a war. Time to get my shotgun, police badge on a chain round my neck and some cheap Aviators and take the first flight south into the troubles zone. Gameplay Narcos: Rise of the Cartels is a turn-based strategy game where you take control of individuals involved in various scenarios. I decided to play as the DEA because I like the look of an 80s cop with a cliché tash (as opposed to a native Columbian with a cliché tash) The tutorial will take you through the basics of moving, shooting and running away. Each player has skills which are either traits or actions....

Fractured Minds – A Game That Matters

It’s not often that I’m lost for words when it comes to writing. In fact, I’m never been backwards in coming forwards when sharing my thoughts online. Having just completed Fractured Minds though, I’ve genuinely had to take ten minutes to compose myself before attempting to write this piece.  Fractured Minds is a beautiful, atmospheric BAFTA award-winning game, designed and created by 17-year old Emily Mitchell and published by Wired Productions. It takes a deep dive into the world of the human brain at it’s most unsettled, inspired by Emily’s own personal journey of severe anxiety. When I say personal, I also mean personal to anyone who has ever experienced anxiety, because they will absolutely identify with this game on a deeply relatable level. “I created Fractured Minds to ...

Planet Zoo – Who Let The Cats Out?

Introduction I could hardly contain my excitement given the opportunity to try out Planet Zoo. My son and I are huge fans of Frontier Developments other “Animal Park” title, Jurassic World Evolution and have lost many many hours to it.  Callum previewed the beta a few weeks ago, Is this the Zoo Tycoon we've been waiting for? I’m keen to see how things are in the release version. Gameplay Planet Zoo released on the 5th of November, developed and self-published by Frontier Developments.  On the surface, Planet Zoo is a management game, managing the layout of the zoo, animals and staff, guest expectations and needs.  But under the surface is where the real fun and frustration can be found. In career mode, you start out in a playthrough tutorial that runs you through the basics of the ga...

Need for Speed Heat Review – The Heat Is On!

Drifting around the car crash that was Need for Speed: Payback is NFS: Heat, but is this a return to the glory days or just another speed bump on the highway heading towards the nearest trade-in shop? Making its debut in 1994, Need for Speed is a franchise that most gamers will have fond memories of playing. Whether it be Underground, Hot Pursuit or Most Wanted, most people have an affinity with the franchise but then everything changed. After 24 games, an oversaturated market and a litterny of mediocre releases, it seemed to many that the franchise had broken down on the hard shoulder. However, in steps Need for Speed: Heat. Revitalizing the series with a focus on arcade racing and adding new elements such as the day/night cycle, fans that enjoyed any of the previous versions sho...

Roccat Kain 120 AIMO Review – Is This Perfection?

Following on from the news back in August of Roccat's latest gaming mice, we have been lucky enough at TC HQ to obtain a Kain 120 AIMO to take for a test slide. Straight from the box the wired gaming mouse has a good weight to it, 89g to be exact.  It doesn't feel too heavy to slide around, nor does it feel like a plastic box of air.  The rubber gliders on the underside do a great job of allowing the mouse feel frictionless as it travels across the mousepad.  The height of the mouse is a pleasant 4.3cm while the width is 6.5cm and the length is 12.4cm.  It feels just the right size below my large hand.  The Kain 120 AIMO comes with a 1.8m braided usb cable, great if your PC is on the floor or on the other side of the desk. The Kain 120 AIMO glows beautifully alongside the keyboar...

Terminator: Resistance Review – Come With Me If You Want To Live

Terminator: Resistance is an upcoming first-person shooter game developed by Teyon & published by Reef Entertainment, and is being released on November 15th on PC, PS4 & Xbox One. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic 2028 Los Angeles and is the prequel to The Terminator (1984) and Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) films. The new Terminator: Dark Fate film that has just been released in cinemas does not have any connection with the Terminator: Resistance game, as the game is ignoring all Terminator franchise films after the original first 2 films, just like how Dark Fate is doing. “The machines are destined to lose, but at what cost?” - let's DUNDUN DUN DUNDUN jump on in. Gameplay The premise of Terminator: Resistance is you take the role of Jacob Rivers, a soldier in ...
