Metal: Hellsinger – PC Review

Metal: Hellsinger is a first-person shooter from game developers The Outsiders and published by Funcom. The game was released on 15th September 2022 on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. I was pleased to see it arrive day one on Xbox's Game Pass so I grabbed myself a copy! This shoot-em-up however has a unique side to it however. It's a rhythm first-person shooter. Slice, dice, and explode demons in time with the almost tribal heavy metal music to your heart's content! MAKE A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL FOR EXPERT SKILLS? HELL YEAH! With hype building up over this game's unique playstyle I'm eager to delve into the underworld and see what it's all about. I love rhythm-type games in the past from Guitar Hero to Rockband. Plus I love the supernatural style FPS shooters like Doom. I'm excited to find ou...

Beacon Pines – PC Review

Changing fate and becoming a master of one’s own story is something everyone longs to be able to do. Indie developer Hiding Spot Games puts this front and centre with a blend of childlike inquisitiveness and dark, complex machinations only the adult mind can comprehend. Enter Beacon Pines. A BRANCHING TALE While visual novels aren't a big draw, adventure and choose-your-own-adventure games are soft spots for me. Beacon Pines is both. Being one of my Steam Next Fest highlights, I feverishly kept up with all updates on it. So like the art-loving, narrative-absorbing bibliophile I am, I was ready to get lost in the pages of a good book! Gameplay Beacon Pines tells the story of… well… a story! You are both the reader of a self-narrating book and its protagonist, young jackalope Luka VanHo...

YSAP is developed and published by indie Belgian studio Happy Volcano (The Almost Gone). And it is available now on PC and Xbox series S/X. Prove your skills at the wheel in You Suck At Parking I was excited to play YSAP after seeing the spin on the racing genre and it didn't disappoint. Let us know what you thought in the comments below. Gameplay You Suck At Parking takes the simple concept of parking a car and turns it into the most frustratingly fun game I've played in a while. Train Life – A Railway Simulator PC Review

Train Life - A Railway Simulator is the latest release from Polish devs Simteract. Published by Nacon, it is out now on PC and will be coming to consoles on 22nd September. Being a lover, for some bizarre reason, of transport tycoon-style games, I looked forward to actually being able to take part in the driving, as well as the managing of a railway empire. Train Life - A Lot Different to Park Life! Simteract appears to be a very interesting developer that originally focussed on creating professional simulators for training purposes, with a train simulator being one of them. They began to make games in 2018 and had the ability to build their creations based on the simulation technology that they already had perfected. From Traffic AI to City Generators, they seem very well set up ...

Terraformers – PC Early Access Review

When it comes to transforming planets to make them habitable I always assumed that Elon Musk would be leading the way. I would be wrong, as Asteroid Lab brings us Terraformers, a game that allows you to do just that. Was Bowie Right? Time to pack up my dried space rations (not recommended) and don my space suit for a trip to the red planet and see if I can make it green. Gameplay Terraformers start like so many other civilisation development games, you have a base of operations to get started. First of all, you chose some starting resources and a leader. All leaders have different bonuses, so choose carefully to make your strategy a success. So, what's to do to complete successful terraforming? Well, you need to gather resources, expand your population, explore regions of the planet an...
