Fenimore Fillmore: 3 Skulls Of The Toltecs Pc Review – Remastered Classic Or Tired Old Gunslinger?

If you grew up during the 90’s you’d have struggled not to have played a point and click adventure. I’ve certainly played my share and loved most of them being a fan of puzzle games as a child, so I was very much looking forward to exercising my mouse clicking finger once more! Fenimore Fillmore: 3 Skulls of the Toltecs is a remaster by the Casual Brothers of the original 1996 game. Set in 1860’s Arizona you play as the game's namesake character Fenimore Fillmore - Gunslinger, after witnessing the attack of an old man named Buck and then accidentally poisoning him with hair tonic, you recover the Toltec skull before being ambushed yourself. When you come to your senses the treasure is gone, taken for safekeeping by a Friar and so begins your adventure… Gameplay Just like any...

Vaporum PS4 Review – A Chip Off The Old Dungeon Crawler Block

Vaporum, by developer Fatbot Games and published by Merge Games, is a steampunk dungeon crawler with a simple movement concept that takes you right back to the original style first conceived in the 1988 epic Dungeon Master by FTL Games. Available originally on PC and Mac, the transition to consoles has taken nearly 2 years, however, it is finally here for Xbox One and PS4 on April 10th and Nintendo Switch the following day. Are you ready to confront fear and the ensuing perils? Enter, stranger... Gameplay Stranded in the middle of the sea on a small island you have no choice but to enter an odd, and out of place, gigantic mechanical tower.  At first it appears all new to you, however, the place around you starts to get awfully familiar. Movement around the tower is first per...

A Plague Tale: Innocence Preview – Dont Go Down To The Woods Today

I was lucky enough to get a preview key of A Plague Tale: Innocence which is developed by Asobo Studio and published by Focus Home Interactive which was an alpha copy of the final game that included the first 3 chapters of the game.  I played the game on PC (via Steam) but it will also be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. A Plague Tale: Innocence is an action-adventure stealth game set in the plague-ridden kingdom of France in 1309 in which you play Amicia De Rune, a young woman who finds herself after a tale of unfortunate events, alone and on the run with her younger brother Hugo. Let's see how this tale turns out and what's hidden in the deep depths of the woods... Gameplay Without giving too many spoilers of the game, you start off with Amicia with her father and the...

The Walking Vegetables Radical Edition PS4 Review – Beat Your Vegetables

Hate vegetables? rather smash one up than devour it? The Walking Vegetables Radical Edition may be right down your street. Brought to you by publisher Merge Games Limited and  devs Still Running, The Walking Vegetables is an action-packed game available on PC, Nintendo switch, Xbox One and PS4 Gameplay You're a beat cop style guy who looks very much like Walter White with a DeLorean (every guy in the '80s had them right ?)  yet you're less law-breaking and more helping the city and trying to not get mauled by giant mutated vegetables, The main aim of the game is to go through the levels to free the city from them. Using either sofa co-op (or if you're a lone ranger like myself) head out and beat the baddies solo. Multiple enemies cross your path, carrots, broccoli, tomatoes and many ...

The Division 2 PS4 Review – Welcome to DC

The Division 2 is here finally and as you all probably know this is Ubisoft's latest work. So with nothing else to say let's dive straight in shall we? Gameplay The Division 2 is a tactical cover to cover shooter. You can choose to go in all guns blazing..... but why? I'm sure everyone has played the first game which was set in New York with a smallpox epidemic and if not then where have you been? Well anyway The Division 2 is set in Washington DC and smallpox is no longer the issue but instead you now have the green poison. Lovely isn't it? Story-wise this isn't as good as the original Division game. But this is a beautiful game with a really well thought out open-world that begs to be explored. Your choice of weapons vary also depending on how you play the game. In the or...

Generation Zero PC Review – An 80’s Robo-Nightmare

Generation Zero is the latest offering from the developers at Avalanche Studios. It is a first-person co-op shooter developed for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Generation Zero released on the 26th of March, 2019. Avalanche Studios has had a pretty solid track record in terms of making fun open world games. Mad Max and the Just Cause series are among the titles Avalanche Studios is known for making. Let's get on our rad clothes, break out the boombox and check out the bogus events following a weekend campout with friends. Gameplay I have been looking forward to getting my hands on Generation Zero since I first heard about it. I mean come on, Robots? The 80's? Scavenging for weapons to survive? That sounds pretty awesome, right?  In theory, yes, that sounds awesome. In practice, however, it's slig...

ChromagunVR PSVR Review – Paint A Rainbow

ChromagunVR is published and developed by Pixel Maniacs. This game is available on Steam, PS4, Switch and Xbox One. Today I will be reviewing the PSVR version and using a PS4 Pro model with a PS Aim Controller. Gameplay ChromagunVR in it's most basic form is a simple puzzle and colour making game. You start in a room and have to make your way out guiding worker drones to relevant points in the room or corridor. The worker drones are manipulated by colours. ChromagunVR gives you three primary colours to work with. Red, Yellow and Blue, so as an example red and blue mixed make purple. Yellow and blue make green. I'm sure you get the idea. Some worker drones are harmless to you, others, however, have spiked bodies and can and will kill you so you need to be careful at all time...

Attack of the Earthlings PS4 Review – Reverse XCOM

Very rarely does one video-game inspire others with its mechanics. Off the top of my head, I can only think of a handful that has had any lasting effect on the video-game industry. Gears of War popularised the cover-based shooter, Arkham Asylum invented a combat system that is widely used amongst many developers, Dark Souls was groundbreaking when it came to game design and difficulty, and XCOM practically invented a whole new form of strategy in a genre that needed something to shake up the formula. All of these games have inspired smaller developers to take their mechanics and turn into something new. Attack of the Earthlings, developed by Team Junkfish and published by Junkfish Limited, was definitely inspired by the latter. Gameplay You play as an alien race that is going ab...

Crimson Keep PS4 Review- Keep On Dying?

Crimson Keep is a first-person action-packed RPG game created by Merge games. Released for many platforms such as PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox one. With three options of what kind of "survivor/warrior" you are, it will help with how hard your gameplay is and what your starting weapon is. The aim of the game is to find the "sunken remains" so that you can cleanse it and free the trapped people staying alive trying to use any of the items you find. Gameplay Starting at the main menu you are offered a choice in which to start, you can choose to play as either The Berserker, the Witch or the Drifter Which gives you all the same start to the game besides your inventory. For example, your witch is given a wand, Berserker is given an axe and your drifter is just using their fists. I fe...

Beat Cop PS4 Review – I Am The Law!.. Well Sort Of..?

Beat Cop is the newest release from Pixel Crow. It's very much a Police themed time management game where you take on the role of Jack Kelly, a disgraced Homicide Detective reduced to a ‘Beat Cop’ while trying to clear his name of a murder he didn’t commit. Set very much in the 80s, Beat Cop aims to take players through the world of those classic cop shows we all know and love (or at least those old enough to remember them); Miami Vice, Hill Street Blues etc. The biggest question; does Beat Cop fill that nostalgic void of a time long past? Or, does it fade into the background like those '80s shows that no-one remembers (Hollywood Beat anyone?). Gameplay Right at the start of Beat Cop as the game is loading, you are greeted with a screen explaining how the game is based on 80's cop ...
