The TOZO Crystal Pods are a pair of Hybrid Active Noise-Cancelling wireless earbuds that are offered at a very competitive price of just £35.99. With a long battery life and immersive stereo sound, these earbuds seem to check all the right boxes, but can they live up to our expectations?
Great Price, Great Quality?
As someone with tiny ears, I’ve had the misfortune of trying out many different earbuds that, sadly, become rather painful after just a few minutes of wearing them. Up until now, my go-to pair has been an older TOZO model, so I was excited to see what else the company has to offer. My main hope is that these earbuds will offer a nice and pain-free listening experience, and, of course, if the sound is up to par! Now then, let’s have a look.
Design
The design of the TOZO Crystal Pods is very modern and sleek, with a cool transparent part on the pods that lets you get a peek at their electronic insides. The case has a clean, see-through lid that gives you a great look at the pods. They also come with three different-sized eartips to make sure that you get a good, snug fit. The tips are dark grey for the black earbuds and white for the other colours.

Features
The TOZO Crystal Pods are really loaded with features, especially considering their price. Starting off strong with an almost standard feature: Adaptive Noise Cancellation. I was curious how such affordable earbuds would perform in regard to noise-cancelling, but I was very pleasantly surprised! It really drowns out a good amount of outside noise, even the children’s birthday party of my downstairs neighbours and the lawnmower noises outside my window. Although it is not as powerful with close-up sounds, like typing on your keyboard. On the other hand, the Transparency Mode lets you hear more of what is happening around you, ideal for when you need to be a bit more aware of your surroundings.
You also get a bunch of other neat features, such as the option to Reduce Wind Noise, great for when you’re out and about, and a Low Latency Mode to make sure that your audio and video will always be in sync, perfect for watching a movie or even just a video on YouTube.
Even the battery life on these little guys is amazing, giving you up to 35 hours of listening time in one charge of the case. The earbuds themselves have a battery that lasts a solid 7 hours. Even better, just 10 minutes of charging can give you more than 2 hours of playtime. Talk about quick!

TOZO App
Downloading and logging into the TOZO App provides you with a lot of extra functions, such as custom equalizers (more on those in a bit) and an option to “find my earbuds”, which makes them beep loudly in case you forgot where you put them down. They are also IPX5 water and dust resistant, so small splashes are no issue! They even have a feature to help you drain out any water you may have gotten into them.
Like most earbuds, the TOZO Crystal Pods come with touch controls, which you can fully customize in the app. I personally love this little addition because I often just wear one earbud at a time. It’s super convenient to put all the functions that I need on that one pod. You can also turn off the touch controls entirely. It is a nice option to have if you find them to be annoying or bump into them a lot.
Sound
Onto the arguably most important part of any pair of earbuds: the sound. Once again, the TOZO Crystal Pods just can’t miss. You get great, immersive sound quality thanks to their 10mm drivers and TOZO‘s OrigX Acoustic 2.0 technology. I have been using the earbuds for a bit over a week now, and I am really enjoying how they sound, both for music and videos, especially if you fiddle with the equalizers a bit.

As mentioned before, the TOZO app offers you a ton of options to customize your equalizer. You can either create your own settings, or pick from one of the 32 official presets. What is even nicer, you can even choose from over 2000 user-submitted presets to find your perfect match for any given situation. It’s a great way to get a bit of a bass boost if you want to listen to music or to get some crisp vocals.
I’ve tried to use the pods for phone calls as well, and I was very impressed. Normally, with more affordable earbuds, the mic quality can be pretty hit-or-miss, but the Crystal Pods don’t struggle with that at all. Thanks to their 4-mics and AI-enhanced noise cancellation, you will come through loud and clear.
Final Thoughts
So, are the TOZO Crystal Pods a great deal? Absolutely! The custom equalizers in the app are a game-changer, and the noise cancellation is really impressive. They also fit rather well, making the noise cancellation even better, though they can start to hurt after a bit. But that part is likely on me.
All in all, I am very happy with the earbuds and I feel like you can’t ask for much more at this price. Personally, I’m a big fan.
Today, the TOZO Crystal Pods are earning a well-deserved Thumb Culture Gold Award!
