Dollhouse PS4 Review – Dollhouse of horrors

When finding out what game I want to review I always check out what kind of game it is, and as someone who plays a lot of horrors and watches numerous horror films with minimal flinching I thought would take Dollhouse and put my horror gaming skills to the test, but it was not like any other horror game I previously played! From the creators of many games including Ether One and Truck Driver SOEDESCO have teamed up with Creazn Studio and they have released this wonderfully creepy psychological horror 1950's Hollywood film noir for us all to enjoy! it is available on all PS4, PC and Xbox One. A Plague Tale: Innocence PC Review – The Woods Strike Back!

Back in April, I had an opportunity to preview A Plague Tale and I was, even more, luckier to have an opportunity to review the full game. When I played the preview, it was a cut-down, 3 part story. A Sampler of sorts which gave me enough to see what was going to give me in the full release but this weekend I had a good few hours to see what has been updated and to carry on with the story. If you didn't see the preview, A Plague Tale: Innocence is developed by Asobo Studio and published by Focus Home Interactive and is available right now on PC (Steam), Xbox One and PlayStation 4. So let's return once more to the plague-ridden kingdom of France in 1309 and see where Amicia De Rune will take us. Hopefully not in the woods again... Gameplay I managed to play a chunk of the game wh...

Shadowgate PS4 Review – A Modern Day Text based Adventure

I’m sure any of the older gamers amongst us will know Shadowgate from the original iteration back on the NES. Well, Zojoi Studios have updated the classic text-based/point & click RPG for modern day gaming. Being completely honest, this one completely flew under my radar and the first I heard of it coming to PS4 was when it appeared for us to review it. Classic text-based games such as Zork were a big part of my childhood, along with the old choose your own adventure books (for any of you that remember those). So I was more than happy to jump on board and do the review (even though I didn’t play the original on the NES). Does Shadowgate do justice to the 80’s classics? Are text-based games still relevant in a gaming world that contains big open world RPGs like Skyrim and The Witc...

Vaporum PS4 Review – A Chip Off The Old Dungeon Crawler Block

Vaporum, by developer Fatbot Games and published by Merge Games, is a steampunk dungeon crawler with a simple movement concept that takes you right back to the original style first conceived in the 1988 epic Dungeon Master by FTL Games. Available originally on PC and Mac, the transition to consoles has taken nearly 2 years, however, it is finally here for Xbox One and PS4 on April 10th and Nintendo Switch the following day. Are you ready to confront fear and the ensuing perils? Enter, stranger... Gameplay Stranded in the middle of the sea on a small island you have no choice but to enter an odd, and out of place, gigantic mechanical tower.  At first it appears all new to you, however, the place around you starts to get awfully familiar. Have you ever wanted to just get on a plane and head out anywhere? How about you hop on a plane, it crashes, you survive and land on the most beautiful little island you have ever witnessed? As much nature as a David Attenborough documentary and beautiful scenery. Sounds amazing right? how about if it means your only child was missing on the island, and the other occupants of the island are slightly cannibalistic and deformed, just slightly... Endnight Games, an independent games studio bring us their second title The Forest. Warhammer: Chaosbane Beta PC – A refreshing Action-RPG

I've always been a fan of Diablo and have recently re-discovered my love for Diablo 3 since its release on the Nintendo Switch, Warhammer: Chaosbane caught my eye. Upon first looking at the game, developed by Eko Software,  you could be forgiven for comparing it to Diablo but upon playing it, you soon release that Warhammer: Chaosbane has simply been inspired by it and added the whole world of Warhammer by placing right into the heart of the game. There are a few good Warhammer games out at present with the release of Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 recently and Last year Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr which also was an Action RPG but didn't score that high. The game is currently in Beta which runs from March the 7th until March the 13th and it's officially released on the 4th of...

Kingdom Hearts 3 PS4 Review: A New Light after 14 years of Darkness?

Kingdom Hearts 3 is the latest in a line of releases from Square Enix, and the first completely new full title in the series since 2005. Being completely honest, back when the first game was released in 2002, I was just finishing up my A-levels and heading out into the real world, so I didn’t have much time for a ‘Disney game’ (or that was my mind-set at the time). When Kingdom Hearts 3 was announced and the buzz around it started to happen it intrigued me and resulted in me purchasing the PS4 HD remastered collection just before Christmas in a bid to catch up ready for its release (that and I had a feeling I might be doing a review). I only managed to get through the first game, due to time constraints and other reasons, but it did make me realise that I should have given this serie...

Drink up me hearties! Yo ho ho! We're about to review Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire! Crowdfunded in less than 24 hours, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire has been developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Versus Evil. The game allows you to live the life of a pirate captain given the task of chasing down an awoken god on a path of destruction and putting a stop to his plans. Currently, it's only available on PC, however, it will be released on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2019. Gameplay Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is a Role-playing game in the style of old-school Forgotten Coast PC RPGs like Baldurs Gate or Icewind Dale. You get to play a "Watcher" who has the ability to peer into the souls of others and read their memories, which can be pret...
