Maneater: Truth Quest DLC Review

Developed and published by Tripwire Interactive. Maneater: Truth Quest is the DLC to the hugely popular video game Maneater. Released on Playstation 4/5,  Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC on 31st of August 2021. Maneater: Truth Quest - It's Never Save To Go Back In The Water When I first played Maneater I was absolutely amazing at how a game where you play as a shark could be. It blew me away at how good it was and when I finished it. I remember thinking that it had so much to offer and I couldn't wait to see if they were going to release some DLC for the game. Well in August I got my wish as the Truth Quest DLC was released. So let's jump back in the water and take a chunk out of this DLC, shall we? If you enjoyed this review then why not check out my review for the base game of Man...

Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries Review

In a surprise turn of events MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries arrived onto PS5. This was the first time the series had been on PlayStation consoles since MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat. For those of us old enough to remember that was on the original Playstation back in 1995.  Craig reviewed the PC version back in 2019 where he awarded it the Thumb Culture GOLD award.  To see his review click here. Mechwarrior 5: "Systems Are Critical" Sadly there was a rough first impression that gave me cause for concern when I sat down to experience Mercenaries and all of the available DLC packs. Several crashes caused me to uninstall and reinstall. It is worth noting here that this was after the game had officially launched. Hardly the start to the series that I was looking forward to.  My game-breaki...

Damn Dolls Review

October.  The time of year where the leaves are falling, Halloween decorations are up, and the constant fear of having it rain on Halloween is in full swing. In honor of it being October, we at Thumb Culture are going to be playing some horror games and writing our thoughts on them, this being one of them. Let us present to you our review for Damn Dolls Damn Dolls is an indie horror game released on Nintendo Switch and PC. It was developed and self-published by first-time game developer Rodrigo Riquetto and was released on October 11th, 2021. Damn Dolls - Those Sure Were Some Damn Dolls I'd say I'm pretty familiar with these types of survival horror games. The stuff where you walk around a scary place in first-person mode and try not to freak out from all the jump scares. I've played ...

Ghostrunner Review

Ghostrunner has received its PS5 and Xbox Series X release taking the originally released game to new heights.  Developed by One More Level, Slipgate Ironworks and 3D Realms, this cyberpunk parkour-samurai-ninja foray looks stunning.  With so much history steeped into the development companies, I was excited to get my PS5 switched on so I could get going! Diablo II Resurrected Review

If you were playing any looter game in the early 2000s, it was probably Diablo II. This game, back in the day, was considered a masterpiece and now it has a fresh coat of paint, and boy does it look good! I was studying in music college at the time and discovering new and old metal bands. These bands were my soundtrack to Diablo II, and they still are for Diablo II Resurrected. Many of my acquaintances had sunk thousands of hours into this genre-defining game, right up until the release of Diablo III. Diablo II Resurrected - "Not Even Death Can Save You From Me" As you probably know, Diablo II Resurrected is a role-playing ARPG developed and published by Blizzard. Vicarious Visions also had a hand in its development regarding the 3D implementation. Its original iteration was released in ...

Grim Earth Review

Grim Earth is a 2D platformer created by George Allan and published by Clockwork Pixels Ltd (also George Allan). It has been in early access for about two and a half years now and was originally slated for launch at the end of September. Allan wanted to make sure he launched his best product possible though so the current release date is September "44th" (or rather October 14th). Look for its full release on Steam. Explore A Grim Earth In... Grim Earth! I seem to be getting myself into all sorts of less-than-familiar genres here at Thumb Culture. This time I waded into the waters of the platformer genre with Grim Earth. As far as I can remember I've only played a handful or so platformers over the years. The most notable being of course Super Mario Bros 1 and 3. Ah... those were such sim...
