Go Home Annie – PC Review

Misfit Village brings us their new game set in the SCP Universe. It’s named Go Home Annie and has us step into the shoes of D-level personal who attempts to uncover some harsh truths. The game is available right now on Steam for £16.75. Please be aware this article contains gifs that may include flashing lights and patterns Annie are you okay? I’ve always loved the SCP Foundation lore, although I wouldn’t say I know it extensively. Its main appeal to me is the actual SCPs. An SCP is an object, creature, anomaly, or humanoid that breaks the rules of nature. Some of my favourites are: SCP-024, SCP-3000, and SCP-662. So it’s rare I see a single-player game based in that universe. I’ve only played one so far, as the others are multiplayer. I’d love to know what your favourite SCP is ...

Enigma of Fear – PC Review

What is the fear? Well, thanks to both Dumativa and Cellbit, we’ll find out soon enough. My job is to find out what paranormal events have been occurring in a place called the Perimeter. As I play Mia and her loyal four-legged companion, Lupi. We will solve puzzles and try to crack the code in Enigma of Fear. The game is available on Steam for £20.99, and was released late November. Played it already, what’s your thoughts? Why can't it be Enigma of Baked Goods? Alongside her pup Lupi, occult specialist Agatha, and tech whiz Samuel, the four of you are looking for the Order’s leader and Mia’s father, Verity. His last location was the Strach ...

Completely Stretchy – PC Review

Completely Stretchy is a first person narrative that offers a 3D open world exploration of three Grombi Islands. It is the latest release by developer Warp Digital, published by Super Rare Games, originating from the mind and creativity of Dan Ferguson. Forewarning, this review will contain many puns and I am not sorry about it. Completely Stretchy is available to play on Steam as of right now! HAVE YOU BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AT WORK THAT WASN'T YOUR FAULT? Gameplay You're a Grombi, this world's local resident. What IS a Grombi, I hear you ask? Well, a Grombi can take many glorious forms. You can come across a Grombi that almost mimics Mike Wazowsky but with arms extending out of their head. Or maybe, they're just a big blob with eyes. Size is no issue in the land of Grombis. After an...

The Thaumaturge – PS5 Review

The Thaumaturge is a text heavy based isometric role-playing game developed by Fool's Theory and published by 11 Bit Studios. You may have heard about Fool's Theory from previous releases such as The Witcher Remake or being project support for games like Baldur's Gate or Divinity Original Sin 2. The publishers 11 Bit Studios are best known for Frostpunk or Indika which all take a very unique approach to games in general. In The Thaumaturge, we have a slightly familiar but refreshing take on RPG story telling. The game is set during year 1905 in Warsaw, Poland, which was, at the time, a part of Russian Empire. The Thaumaturge adds a drop of fantasy to the realistic set it creates. Thaumaturges can see memories left on things by other people, and influence people's minds, but only to some...

Among Ashes – PS5 Review

In a world of horror big hitters like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, it can be hard to come up with something that reinvents the genre in a way that is successful and even more terrifying than the bigger players in the game. Rat Cliff Games decided that it was time to take the reins with their new first-person horror Among Ashes. When I saw the first trailer for Among Ashes, I initially skipped it. Not because it didn't interest me but because I knew a demo wouldn't be enough. The trailer alone had me instantly hooked and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Safe to say this game did not disappoint and is easily one of the best games I've played in 2024. You can grab Among Ashes on Steam and PlayStation now! Just keep playing? Easier said than done! Gameplay Uncover the true horr...

Currently Playing – Metaphor: ReFantazio

The main game taking up a lot of my time is Metaphor: Refantazio, which came out this October. I’ve enjoyed it so far, although outside of review games, I have only played Persona 5. JRPGs are something I enjoy, but usually when it’s turn-based, it’s a little hard for me to really get stuck in. The story of Metaphor: Refantazio is both simplistic and complicated, which I don’t mind. It’s a typical "try to change the world for the better by finding like-minded individuals" game. The way they go about dealing with harsh topics is interesting with the game dealing with Classism and Racial Bias. I still haven’t gotten used to how the calendar system works, which frustrates me at times. Such as dedicating days to help build bonds and then some for grinding out levels for my archetypes....
