Pragmata is an Action, Adventure game from Capcom. A game that was first revealed at the start of the PS5’s life back in 2020. It was honestly one of the main reason I originally got a PS5. Which we got a good, strong time of hearing nothing about this project and just hoping to hear something about it. Like the game Little Devil Inside which I’m still waiting to hear something about that game.
With some people enjoying Pragmata for not only the gameplay, but the message within it. Others are just tearing it down for clout. Now, 01110011 01110100 01100001 01110010 01110100 00100000 01110100 01101000 01100101 00100000 01110010 01100101 01110110 01101001 01100101 01110111 00100001 !
If you play this and don’t feel like you want to be a parent, then you must already have kids…I’m sorry

Forget Hack n’ Slash, We Got Hack n’ BLAST!
It has been a good long while since I played a game that got me overloaded. But, I’m getting ahead of myself and should tell you a bit what you’re fighting for. We play as Hugh, an investigator sent with a team to investigate some issues happening on the research lab. Which uses this versatile material called Lunafliament. An amazing material that can almost create anything even a whole space elevator from what I was guessing from the look of it.
Thankfully, we are have multiple bits of exposure to the length and size that lunafliament can create. However, another example will be the multiple numbers of enemies that continue to built to stop us! For instance, the game has you returning back certain points once you’ve unlock certain abilities. Now some would think you’ll have little resistance trying to go back and collect the chest and items.
BUT HOLY MOTHER OF DUCKS! There are some enemies I’m okay seeing again…but the creepers…those BLOODY CREEPERS!! I wish I knew what is with Capcom and having enemies that not only cloak, but grab you out of nowhere! I feel that people who never dealt with invisible enemies would understand or focus on the shimmer. Thankfully Destiny 2 has prepared my eyes with recognizing a shimmer distorted background.
Now enough with the small rant about that. The versatility of weapons and hacking mods that you gain access over time was honestly a great touch. I’ve gotten used to knowing what tools to have if ever in a crowded situation. Which thankfully Capcom gave us a nice arrangement of Offensive, Defensive and Supportive weapons. With the added bonus of having a primary that doesn’t run out ammo, but has a slow reload.
We have a lot of ways that you can build can be focused on. You can update your suit, primary gun or Diana. Which in my playthrough, I balanced it out to make sure that I don’t create an crutch and create my own issues. If done correctly and you can dodge away whole hacking and shooting, then you can beat a boss on your first try.

Look Hugh! I Made You This!
The creativity and OST of the game is actually beyond what I originally remember from the first trailer in 2020. I still remember thinking that we were in New York until the sky broke apart having us see Earth from a distance. Getting to actually play the game and see all the fine details on every environment, the 3-d printed New York. Which from the scale of it makes me wonder if they either dug down into the moon to make the scale of it. Or the lab is bigger that when we saw it from the outside.
Now, New York being a great example to the details to building and scale, then the Terra Dome is where you can admire nature. The art team did an amazing job with how gorgeous the beach side and forest looks. Sure, one of my most hated enemy types makes it’s appearance, but you’ll get an adorable cutscene that goes with it. With the soundtrack that absolutely made that whole adventure feel like a journey. Which with I’ve been listening to while writing this write and the last two I’ve written those far.

Why Buy It Again When You Can Fix It With Lunafliament!
Pragmata is a very fun and memorable game that I recommend taking slow and enjoy your trip to the end. It took me about 16 hours with going back to old areas from unlocking certain skills. Plus, there is a few extra things that has me extending my stay to get it 100% completed that added a 9 hour on top of that. Which I have nothing to complain and would gladly add more hours into it. Honestly, if you understand the mechanics enough, I might try to speed run it when executing some dodge boosts.

To the Moon and Back!
Pragmata has made me remember the joys of raising my nephew and then making a person like me want to raise a child of my own. This game like God of War, The Last of Us! and The Witcher 3 has the same element of storytelling. That family is important, and that when raising them to cherish their time and growth. I enjoyed this game and would be surprised if there was ever some kind of sequel that came out of it. If I had anything to grip about when it comes to the game, it would be the lack of fast travel.
Sure you can go from the shelter to the any accessible you’ve unlocked. But the fact you can’t go between one ladder location to another from it is pretty insane.
I give Pragmata the Thumb Culture Platinum Award.![]()
