Something that people don’t often take into account when they are setting up their own computer area. Lighting. Quntis reached out to us and asked if we wanted to check out one of their solutions and we duly obliged. We then received the Quntis Curved Monitor Light Bar through the post, and it’s changed my setup forever.
Light In The Dark
Coming in two different options, the Warmwhite and the RGB variants. Retailing at under £65 for the Warmwhite and just over £70 for the RGB version, there is something for everyone. Is it all worth it though, or is it just another gimmick that companies have introduced to try and get more money out of gamers? Well, let’s see what features this has to help prevent eyestrain.
Design Features
At first, we weren’t sure what this could offer to our already seemingly perfect setup. However, as soon as I set it up on the top of my curved screen, I was instantly standing corrected. Being compatible with various screen thicknesses, you have a clamp that securely mounts to your monitor. So secure that I actually have my webcam perched above it. With a foldable design so that you can help it curve to most curvatures, it sits with its L-shaped USB cable nicely on any monitor.

With a glare-free design, you get two options, and both have no direct light into your eyes. The top and the bottom both light up depending on your scenario, whether you want just the bottom or just the top. But also, the Quntis Curved Monitor Light Bar allows both top and bottom, ensuring a reduced effect on eye strain and protecting your vision health.
Alongside the main unit, you also get a nice little control puck. This gives you access to all the controls that you need at the touch of your fingers. Whether you want to change the colour temperature or the brightness. It’s all there. Even if you wanted to turn the light sensor switch on and let the unit decide on the perfect brightness level.
Change For The Better
Being a night owl and being on the computer at night, using the Quntis Curved Monitor Light Bar was a godsend. Being able to have a light on my desk that doesn’t cause me eye strain, especially at nighttime, was incredible. With blue light filtering tech, it doesn’t emit any of those harmful blue light rays that you hear all about. Another positive. Then you have the 45-degree angle that the light shines at. Reducing any kind of direct light hitting your eyes and thus takes another step towards reducing eye fatigue.

Now all that’s left is for you to decide if this might help you while working.
Final Thoughts
So what does all this mean? Well, it means something to help your eye health. You really can’t take for granted your eyes, and this will 100% help your eyes. Reducing fatigue, reducing strain, reducing glare. All go towards giving your eyes the best chance, especially when sitting in front of a screen for a long time. Now it might not be for everyone’s setup, so it’s definitely not a must-buy, but in the right hands, this will be perfect.
The Quntis Curved Monitor Light Bar receives the Thumb Culture Gold Award.
