Yesterday, February 27th, was Pokémon Day and to celebrate we had the Pokémon Presents livestream which has the latest trailers, new and upcoming game reveals. There was some expectation that Pokémon Presents would give players updates on Pokémon Legends: Z-A which is set to release this year. We were also hoping there would be announcements regarding movies and series being worked on.

Pokémon Presents Questionable Starters & TCG Developments

So were we disappointed? Let’s take a look with our full rundown of everything revealed at the Pokémon Presents 2025 Event.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Starting off strong we got more information about the new Pokémon Legends: Z-A game, including a trailer! With this jampacked trailer, we thought it was easier to breakdown this info into bullet points. So here is a rundown to get you excited for the new game:

    • Players can choose from Grass-type Chicorita, Water-type Totodile and Fire-type Tepig as their starter.
    • Parkour and platforming have been added so you can fully explore Lumiose City
    • Wildzones exist throughout the city where wild Pokémon can thrive. You’ll be able to battle and catch Pokémon in these zones too!
    • Battling has had a total upgrade with real time dodging making timing and positioning more important
    • Mega Evolutions are returning to the series for the first time in 7 years since Let’s Go games back in 2018
    • Pokémon Legends: Z-A is set to launch on Nintendo Switch in late 2025

Pokémon Concierge

The stop-motion animated Netflix series Pokémon Concierge has a new season in production. We even got a sneak peek at how some of the Pokémon cuties in early motion test footage. The new season will be coming to our screens in September. But if you can’t wait that long the first four episodes are on the Official Pokémon YouTube channel for a limited time only.

Pokémon Café Remix

Flapple and Appletun are joining the ranks in Pokemon Cafe Remix! To access these apple inspired cuties you’ll need to complete a special in-game event. You might spot a new menu item on the list too. The Appletun Fruitilicious Jelly Soda to be exact. It wouldn’t be Pokémon Day without some special bonuses too. So if you log into the game now Pikachu will join your staff with some cute outfits. If you log in for three consecutive days, Eevee will join you too!

1st March kicks off the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova. This event will see Legendary Pokémon Black Kyruem and White Kyruem appearing in Raid Battles. There will be chance encounters with Victini. And for the shiny hunters out there, be safe as you hunt down a Shiny Meloetta.  That’s not all as from 4th March a new season will begin in-game featuring the arrival of Kubfu and Urshifu! Another gift was given to us during this section of the Pokémon Presents as a Pokémon GO promo code was revealed that grants a chance to encounter a Pokémon of your choice from a selection.

Suicune, Alolan Raichu and Alcremie are joining the Pokémon Unite roster. That’s not all as a new battle type called First to 500 is being added for more diverse game options. It’s exactly as it sounds, with the first person to score 500 points is the winner. A new feature called Aeos technology is also coming. This grants players special effects each time they score a certain number of points. Look out for the return of the Remoat Stadium for a limited time too. Of course ever generous, Pokémon Presents also revealed a gift code for a platinum Suicune boost emblem.

What better way to end the Pokémon Presents 2025 Event then with a a new game annoucement! Pokémon Champions is a new game for Nintendo Switch and mobile, with cross platform battles. Yes, really. It will apparently feature new takes on familiar mechanics, allowing you to fight with Pokémon from older games thanks tot he use of Pokémon home. It’s currently in development but you can watch the annoucement trailer below

And That’s It

These were the most notable announcements from Pokémon Presents 2025. Personally, I’m very excited to see how well this new combat type works in Pokémon Legends: Z-A!
