F1 2019 PS4 Review – Rise of a Legend

Codemasters have returned with the latest instalment of the F1 franchise and this year they have released F1 2019 earlier than usual. A Whole 2 months earlier than F1 2018. So why should you part with your hard earned money and purchase this game, only a whole 10 months after you probably bought last years? Let's Find Out! Gameplay Rather than going into the game telling you that it's a racing game, the best thing to do is to let you know what has changed in F1 2019. So the first thing that you will come across is the new F2 feeder series scenarios at the start of the career mode. This is a great way to introduce you to a couple of new characters that will pop up throughout your career. However this Feeder series is skippable, but its a great introduction into the game itself. U...

Home Sweet Home Ps4 Review – Hide and Seek and Scream

Is it safe to come out now?  For the last couple of weeks I have been playing through Yggdrazil Group's first-person horror/puzzle game Home Sweet Home, and those that know me will remember how easily I can jump when playing games of this nature! Gameplay With elements taken from Thai folklore which indeed adds to the story and atmosphere, you are fooled into thinking this is another typical horror game when you wake up in a room as a guy called Tim who has no memory as to how he got there but is aware that he has a family that he needs to find. With the basic scenario set out, you begin your single player mission to walk about the rooms and hallways of the building looking for answers.  It does not take that long to come across strange goings-on when you see out of the corner of your...

Leisure Suit Larry Wet Dreams Don’t Dry PS4 Review

Calling all Sierra fans, your favourite 80's sleazy Lounge Lizard has returned, this time on PS4 in Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Don’t Dry. Larry Laffer is back in the gaming saddle after taking the reigns back off his nephew Larry Lovage in the last two ‘alternative’ instalments. Wet Dreams Don’t Dry comes to us from CrazyBunch, who look to return Larry to his point and click adventure roots. The question is, does this game offer up some Stiff Competition or is it just a flaccid failure of a game from a series that should’ve stayed in the 80’s? Gameplay I’m sure anyone old enough to remember the original games only really remembers them because of the adult content and really being ‘too young’ at the time to play the game. This is because for the most part the story content only in...

Dollhouse PS4 Review – Dollhouse of horrors

When finding out what game I want to review I always check out what kind of game it is, and as someone who plays a lot of horrors and watches numerous horror films with minimal flinching I thought would take Dollhouse and put my horror gaming skills to the test, but it was not like any other horror game I previously played! From the creators of many games including Ether One and Truck Driver SOEDESCO have teamed up with Creazn Studio and they have released this wonderfully creepy psychological horror 1950's Hollywood film noir for us all to enjoy! it is available on all PS4, PC and Xbox One. Gameplay You're an ex-detective called Marie, who has awoken in a location she does not know along with amnesia, the only thing you remember is the death of your daughter. You can hear a woman...

Anthem – A Game I Still Want to Love

When Anthem released back in February, I was looking forward to a lengthy relationship with a game that brought refreshing gameplay and a new IP to the table from a studio that was well-known for its deep and rich storytelling. I spent more time streaming Anthem than I had anything else in a long while and I thought for sure I had found my new home. Post-launch plans were in place by BioWare for future content to keep the game fresh and things were really looking like they were on track for an avid community for a while to come. This new, shiny treasure was going to be amazing! Sadly though, healthy infancy wasn’t in the cards for Anthem. Almost immediately after the game went live for the full launch, it was already drawing criticism for falling short of its massive potential. Play...

Bubsy Paws on Fire PS4 Review: A Furry-ous Platform… Er?

Bubsy the platforming Bob-Cat returns to us in this latest addition to the series from Accolade, this time courtesy of developers Choice Provisions the creators of games like Runner 3. As a child, I’m going to be honest, I was more into Sonic, but I do remember playing the older Bubsy games. So, when I was given the chance to do this review I thought great, some old school style gaming for a change with a bit of nostalgia sprinkled on for me. Let’s just say I didn’t get what I was expecting… Gameplay Right off the Bat, Bubsy Paws on Fire is a different style of game than I was expecting to play, instead of a traditional Platformer it was very quickly apparent that this is more of a side-scrolling speed-run game. You play as one of 3 characters; Bubsy (of course), Virgil and Wool...

American Fugitive PS4 Review – Old School GTA Returns!

American Fugitive developed by British studio Fallen Tree Games and published by Curve Digital is a 3D top-down open world game that has strong roots with the original Grand Theft Auto games.  Available across all platforms, I was lucky enough to take the PS4 version out for a spin! Gameplay American Fugitive is set in a quiet American country town called Redrock County back in the 1980s and yes it is single player.  You take on the character of Will Riley who arrives at his father's house following a late night phone call to find him lying dead on the floor.  Even though you had no part to play in the cold-blooded murder of your father, you are framed and locked up in a prison.  Powered by vengeance and determination to find out who actually committed the crime you break out of jail...

Bow to Blood PS4 Review – A Politically Focused Battle Royale

Battle Royale is the phrase that is on most gamer's lips these days. Last year we got games like Fortnite, Player Unknown's Battlegrounds, and more recently Apex Legends, absolutely dominating gaming conversation, yet all of them play the same way with minor tweaks to each game's specific mechanics to set themselves apart. None of them is trying to innovate with each of them pinching ideas from the other. Bow to Blood by developer Tribetoy however, takes the genre and gives it a more Hunger Games feel, having you pitted against only seven other contestants in an almost politically focused battle of attrition. Gameplay You play as The Freelancer, a new contestant to the tournament and you'll need to make it to the top in order to survive. Kind of like a morbid TV show, Bow to Blood has yo...

World Of Warships Legends PS4 Review – Hey You Sank My Battleship!

Ahoy there land-lubbers!  Come take to the seas with me as I explore the mmo that is World of Warships Legends by devs Wargaming.  Having originally been released on PC back in 2015 it is finally out on Xbox1 and PS4, and better still it is free to download and play! Gameplay Anyone here who has played World of Tanks will roughly know what to expect with World of Warships Legends as the systems they use are very similar, however, when it comes to tactics it is very different to play. The main menu lets you either play a match either against bots or humans; check out your ships as well as browse and unlock new ones.  You can undertake a campaign to receive additional rewards and finally, there is the store where they are hoping you will make deposits of gold in order to quickly fac...

Dick Wilde 2 PSVR Review – Darn Varmint

Dick Wilde 2 was developed by Bolverk Games and is published by Playstack. Currently, you can pick up this title for PSVR, Oculus and Vive. Today my review of Dick Wilde 2 will be based on my PSVR experience. Gameplay First thing you will notice about Dick Wilde 2 is the graphics. The cartoon style is straight out of a Yosemite Sam cartoon. Normally this style will put me off but here it works. It's a simplistic format for Dick Wilde 2. There are 4 keys to collect per level and the more keys you collect the more levels you unlock. As you float on down the river or in some cases the sewer systems on your raft, you will get attacked by various animals and vermin. Ranging from birds trying to carpet bomb you with poop, to fish jumping out the water to eat your face off, and what I...
