Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii – PC Review

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is an Action, Adventure, RPG from the great Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. They have developed the entire Yakuza series which has recently been renamed the Like a Dragon series. Their publisher, SEGA has been by their side since the very beginning and has made this series great. I honestly feel like Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio saw that the pirate genre was slowly sinking into the water and said "hold my grog." No matter where and no matter when, Mad Dog Goro Majima is having chaotic fun again. This series has always been a great time when it comes to it's gameplay, mini-games and mechanics. Getting to go back to the original combat system feels right. And it seems that SEGA learned their lesson about paying for New Game +, since that isn't in this game at all. So, ...

Grandma, No! – PC Demo Preview

Grandma, No! is an Adventure Sandbox is developed by Wallride and published by Super Rare Originals.  Wallride is known for its very fun and chaotic nature if you ever play EleMetals. You should watch their video to see just how chaotic these developers are.  Honestly, what caught my eye about this game is just how limitless I can do something that will break another thing. So, get ready, because I'm going to say chaos/chaotic a lot in this preview review. Grandma is out here with a bottomless watering can and rapid fire toots. What in the Felix the cat thing is going on?! Gameplay I will tell you now, Grandma, No! is a game where your brain should always be off. Don't think, don't worry and just trust your gut with what you do. There is a bit of story happening at the start from what...

Ruffy and the Riverside Demo – PC Preview

Ruffy and the Riverside is an Indie Action, Adventure with slight RPG elements. Developed by Zockrates Laboratories UG, with this game being their first step into the industry. Even their publisher Phiphen Games is entering the industry with this banger of a game. If the title didn't let you know that my experience was through a demo of the game. Which I quite enjoyed...even if I beat it all in less than an hour. When I do a full review of the game, I won't be like Ruffy and copy & paste everything here on there....or will I? This is taking changing the environment to a literal sense. Gameplay Ruff and the Riverside has you starting on a falling piece of land with almost no explanation as to why this happened. You're taught the one mechanic you'll be using like crazy is Ruff's Cop...

Tales of Graces f Remastered – PC Review

Tales of Graces f Remastered is an Action, Adventure RPG developed by Tose Co and published by Bandai Namco. It originally came out in 2009 in Japan under the name Tales of Graces and was only available on the Wii. In 2010 it was then ported to the PS3 in Japan, and renamed Tales of Graces f. It didn't get a localization until two years later which makes since since localization takes a lot of effort and time. Especially with a game as massive of a franchise like the Tales of series. Now with today's advances, we can now play this wonderous game on all platforms under the sun. And what a time to be alive to not have to worry if I have the console to play this game! Today I'm playing the game on PC and you can pick up your copy from Steam, for £35. Tired and injured? Why not take an App...

The Witcher 4 Trailer Reveal And Reaction

Let me set the stage to my reaction when watching the reveal to The Witcher 4. It's 10 am JST, you're in a Discord voice channel with friends to watch the Game Awards together. I felt slightly sleepy and was thinking about just going back to bed. I get a bit of a jolt from seeing some new Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound (which as an aside looks great and has a nice retro Castlevania feel to it) But after shouting at one another over some of the games that won some of the awards, the tiredness has taken over. "This is my story, not yours. You must let me finish telling it." That is until I spot behind Geoff Keighley, the stage is starting to fog up and the background has changed to some creepy woods. A tall dark cave with fog spilling out and a wreath hanging on a dead bush appear. Then Geoff ann...

Windblown – PC Preview

Windblown is an action, roguelite game developed by Motion Twin and published by Kepler Ghost. Motion Twin created the hit game Dead Cells, which is another game that I've  invested several hundred hours. Most of that making some insane builds of course. As of the time of writing, the game is currently in Early Access with Motion Twin stating the game will remain so for at least one year. With the intro out of the way, let's head to the eye of the storm and see how Windblown has treated me. Sudden Death is just another life lesson Gameplay Windblown is a game about the peaceful inhabitants of The Ark, a floating village orbiting around the gigantic and deadly Vortex. However that deadly Vortex is, as you can imagine, not so peaceful. The only chance The Ark has is for you to become a ...

This game was first announced on Twitter in 2021, with a very extensive record of their progress showing their growth.  This is Dark Pigeon's first game to break into the industry and it has started with a bang! I first came across this game back in 2022 and was amazed by the amount of changes it underwent during development. But, let's cut the chatter and get into this cake known as AWAKEN - Astral Blade. Now, let's Awaken ourselves to this review before we become mutants. When you need to save the world, you can't do it while you're human. But you can when you're made into a mach...

Voidwrought – PC Review

Please be aware this article contains gifs that may include flashing lights and patterns Voidwrought is an action, adventure, metroidvania that was developed by Powersnake and published by Kwalee. This game is Powersnake's first project and which was previously announced back in 2021. You can follow their development progression on their twitter profile. Seeing from where they started to how they improved and finished the game is impressive in my eyes. With the success of Voidwrought, I hope they continue to improve and make another game. Because honestly, I do want to see another game from this studio. Honestly, if this is what being in a cult is like, then it'll have me leaning on a fence. So, grab your faux goats and sacrificial daggers because we're going to drink the kool-aid into...

Elsie – PC Review

Elsie is a rougelite, side scrolling, 2d platformer developed by Knight Shift Games and published by Playtonic Friends. I remember finding and playing the demo for Elsie during a recent Steam Nextfest event. At first I thought the game was going to be a Megaman clone. But it completely took me by surprise with the rougelite aspects that makes it enjoyable. If your abuelita offers you a cafecito, YOU...SAY...YES! Gameplay The main plot of Elsie surrounds a certain Dr Grey. Long ago Dr Grey created 5 guardians that would help keep human beings safe from any approaching disasters. These Guardians are powered by a limitless power supply known as the Archlight Core. Some time passes and the Guardians become corrupted. Causing major damage to the world they were created to protect. Dr Grey ...

Squirrel with a Gun – PC Review

I've been in nuttier situations before but this takes everything and the tree knot hole it came from. Squirrel with a Gun is an action-adventure simulation game from Dee Dee Creations. With publishing being handled by Maximum Entertainment. I can't remember when I first saw the trailer for this game, but when I did I immediately knew it was one I had to play. The pure chaos, the squirrely madness people can get themselves into and the guns! OH GOD THE GUNS! Grab your nuts Gameplay Squirrel with a Gun starts us out with our squirrel (I named them John Squicks) finding a golden nut in a lab. I don't how John Squicks got themselves into the lab in the first place, but they got in. After learning how to traverse the lab and getting to the golden nut, government agents burst into the ro...
