Read on to my review and explore my journey of death Gameplay Have you ever wondered what would happen if you were not special? If you started a game and right away it lets you know you are the bottom rung of your tribe. You don't have powers and something as simple as a cold winters night can kill you. Tabletop Gods – Divine Intervention Needed

Tabletop Gods developed by Ghost Fish Games is the VR/RTS/ Mana Management/ Tower Defense game that has a lot going for it on the surface. However, once you get into the actual game you find empty multiplayer lobbies and a weak single player campaign. As Tabletop Gods is still in early access I will hold my full review until it comes out. Saying that what is there now isn't much. Read on and see if you agree. EARLY ACCESS GAMEPLAY Let me start by saying I am normally not a fan of early access. If you have been a reader here before you might remember how I feel about monetizing into today crazy gaming world (Here is a link for a nice read of me being super not salty about loot boxes and stuff). Early Access has a special place however in my heart. On the one hand, if you already like a d...

Elea: Episode 1 Review – An acid trip into bugs

ELEA is an episodic sci-fi, head trip, adventure, walking sim. ELEA is developed by Kyodai LTD and published by SOEDESCO Publishing. ELEA is explained by the creators as "By putting the character up against events and phenomena which are beyond human grasp, the game aims to defy the conventional notions of personal accountability, choice and meaning of life. It is a story about our fragility as a species, about finding solace through surrender." Does it hold up to this TL;DR.....no. But read on and allow me to explain. Gameplay ELEA places you as "Long ass name here i cant remember right now". You have journeyed into space to find your husband Ethan who has apparently disappeared along with the rest of the crew on the space ship "SPACESHIP NAME!". Ethan was a head scientist looking a...

Smoke and Sacrifice Review – More like Rage, Smoke and Sacrifice

O man that looks like a cool area -dead, reload save- O wow look at that creature I wonder what it -dead, reload save- ALRIGHT WE ARE GONNA STAND STILL! -dead, reload save-.....Welcome to the wonderful world of Smoke and Sacrifice developed by Solar Sail Studio and published by Cure Digital of the Nintendo Switch and on Steam. Pull up your chair, ready your eyes, and lets dive into my review!   Smoke and Sacrifice is a top down, survival, crafting, open world, don't die, narrative driven RPG. You start off the game as the female protagonist Sachi working in a field. You are told to go fetch your child for the rite of the first born. Already in my head I know nothing good is coming from this. From that point on the story is bleak and dark because you sacrifice your first born to th...

Can We Loot Box This? – The Fine Art Of Monetization

In a world where everything has been monetized by loot boxes is it necessary to just pat the back of a studio for just making a game. When did this become worthy of praise and headlines. How did we get here and how can we go back to just having good games. Well tune in and get ready cause I believe I have the answers you seek. Battlefield V  recently announced that it wouldn't have loot boxes or season pass. I had to do a double take because I was sure that the lords of monetization and dumb choices (looking right into your eyes EA) couldn't have let this happen. I mean the FIFA game series literally brings in millions of dollars from their loot box system. EA has systematically destroyed both studios and game series all the while raking in heaps and gobs of money. Now they announce no ...

Lake Ridden Review – Puzzles in the mist

If you enjoy walks on the beach, happy thoughts, and not the ever pressing presence of something dark and foreboding then this game is not for you. However if you like puzzle solving, eerie scenery, and a dark atmosphere then this is for you and I hope you enjoy my review of the creepy, puzzle based, walking sim that is Lake Ridden Lake Ridden is the newly released game on PC from studio Midnight Hub, an indie studio based in Sweden made up of former Minecraft and Pardox developers. Not quite a horror game, and not quite a walking sim, Lake Ridden is however a fantastic puzzle game with beautifully done scenery, music and voice acting that helps draw you into its rich story. As someone that is not at all okay with any type of scary stuff I was prepared to be miserable. However, as I g...

Judgment: Apocalypse Survival Simulation Review – Liches, Imps, and Demons O My!

I don't want to set the world on fire, but these demons sure do. Fight for survival as you try to rebuild some semblance of society. Gather water, farm, contemplate howling at the moon and more in Judgment: Apocalypse Survival Simulation. Indie developer Suncrash pulled Judgment: Apocalypse Survival Simulation from the depths of early access hell and summoned it to your PC via Steam. Now as a full release you must try to survive a world on fire as you train your rag tag group of survivors and teach them various skills as they level up. Judgment: Apocalypse Survival Simulation adds some dashes of humour into your bleak end times as random events and waves of demons come crashing on to your door step. The first three hours I played of this game shot past and before I knew it I had cre...
