Beautiful Desolation Review

Beautiful Desolation is a story-rich, 3rd person, sci-fi adventure. Developed by THE BROTHERHOOD and published on Switch and PS4 by Untold Tales. The game was also self-published by the developers on Steam in Feb 2020. It features point-and-click mechanics, branching conversations, choices, and lots of exploration. The gameplay has a relaxed, slow pace to it, that allows you to really soak into the atmosphere and story. Beautiful Desolation - I bless the game down in Africa When I think of games that focus a lot on the narrative rather than being packed full of action it's things like Telltale games and Life is Strange. What are some of your favourite story-heavy games? Let us know below in the comments! Also, if you do like games that focus a lot on telling a story, you can check out my...

Horizon Forbidden West Gameplay Revealed At Latest State Of Play

Here we are, folks! We have some gameplay footage for the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn. Horizon Forbidden West does not yet have a release date but we do have some gameplay footage, finally. Thanks to PlayStations latest State of Play, we are able to see Aloy in all her glory again. There's some mean looking new robot dinos that I can't wait to take down. And just look at those graphics. There's a lot of talks online about the game running at 30fps. When I first heard this, I was a little disappointed. However, when you see just how stunning this game looks, all is forgiven. You think the game looks amazing, then Aloy jumps in the water and that, to me, is when the game looks even better. It truly looks incredible all around. Horizon Zero Dawn was certainly a beautiful game too, and I...

Biomutant Review

Biomutant from new development studio Experiment 101 (ex Just Cause developers) and publishers THQ Nordic has recently released. It's worth noting the Experemont 101 is a team of only 20 people. We've played it and we have some thoughts to share with you. Available now on PC (Steam), Xbox One, Xbox series X|S, PS4, and PS5. Biomutant is an open-world RPG game, filled with missions, side quests, and collectibles to keep you busy for hours! Biomutant Review - It's like Ratchet and Clank meets Devil May Cry - But cuter Ever since the reveal trailer in 2017, I have been very excited to play Biomutant. It struck me as a zany, over-the-top, open-world adventure game, and I instantly fell in love with the art style and the gameplay I saw. I couldn't wait to play it! Do I still feel the same exc...

Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate Announced

In celebration of the 35th anniversary of Dragon Quest, Square Enix hosted a live stream event to discuss current and future DQ games. During the live stream it was confirmed that the next main installment will be Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate. It's no secret that Square Enix has been working on a new Dragon Quest, especially after the success of Dragon Quest XI. Back in January 2020, series creator, Yuji Horii tweeted about DQXII, stating that the game was still a ways away from release. Other than the title and the logo, not much detailed information was shared about the game. However, based on the logo alone, this game is setting a much different tone than previous DQ games. Horii confirmed that DQ12 will be “darker” and that it will be a Dragon Quest “for adults.” In the l...

Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards Review

Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards is a role-playing action-adventure game developed by N-Fusion Interactive, Digiart Interactive LLC and published by Digiart Interactive LLC. It was released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 26th. There have been interviews and behind the scenes footage all over the developer's channel. They've even announced a tie-in comic book. That is dedication to your game! "I will do all I can to make sure that when I'm done, all will know my name" I've been playing video games my whole life and I've never once played an action RPG. I've played the regular RPG's like Final Fantasy X and Chrono Trigger, but never an overhead action RPG. It just never seemed like my type of thing. But I was looking forward to giving one a shot. Aluna: Sentinel of...

Solasta: Crown Of The Magister Review

In the debut game from indie developer and publisher Tactical Adventures comes Solasta Crown of the Magister. As a fan of tabletop and video game RPGs, Solasta definitely caught my eye. So much so that I also wrote the Thumb Culture preview which you can find here. A single-player turned based isometric RPG set in the world of Solasta. The game takes place in a fantasy world following a devastating magical cataclysm from which it has not fully recovered. Solasta Crown of the Magister is available now on Steam and GOG. Solasta Crown of the Magister - Heavy is the head that wears the crown The Kickstarter campaign was incredibly successful and made the game possible. A tactical RPG combined with 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons, Solasta measures up against similar games such as Baldur's ...

Rocket League McLaren 570s Pack Is Returning Today!

One of the best DLC cars in Rocket League, in my opinion, is returning for all to have another chance at purchasing. This marks the first time we see this return since the game went to free to play. You can purchase the Rocket League McLaren pack starting today through June 2nd for 2000 credits. Owners of the original McLaren pack can upgrade to get the silver decal car for 900 credits. Correct, you don't get that as part of your current DLC purchases and it is an additional purchase. In addition to these two options, there will also be a McLaren avatar border that you can claim for free starting on May 27th. Check out the silver version of the Rocket League McLaren 570s in all of its glory: See below for the features of this new pack: McLaren 570S Car Unique Engine A...

Manifold Garden Review

Here we are today with my Manifold Garden review on the PS5. Manifold Garden was brought to us by William Chyr Studio, who developed and published this game. The game originally came out in 2019 on PC, iOS, and macOS. In 2020 the game had further releases on the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The game is now available on Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5. Manifold Garden is a puzzle game where you can basically treat everything as a floor and use this to your advantage in your adventure. Manifold Garden - Everything Is A Floor - Literally! Unfortunately, this game was not for my taste. But, do not let that stop you here. Please continue to read this review as it is a brilliant creation from William Chyr. Let us know in the comments your thoughts on Manifold Garden if you've played. ...
