The Witcher 4 Trailer Reveal And Reaction

Read Time:1 Minute, 54 Second

Let me set the stage to my reaction when watching the reveal to The Witcher 4. It’s 10 am JST, you’re in a Discord voice channel with friends to watch the Game Awards together. I felt slightly sleepy and was thinking about just going back to bed. I get a bit of a jolt from seeing some new Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound (which as an aside looks great and has a nice retro Castlevania feel to it) But after shouting at one another over some of the games that won some of the awards, the tiredness has taken over.

“This is my story, not yours. You must let me finish telling it.”

That is until I spot behind Geoff Keighley, the stage is starting to fog up and the background has changed to some creepy woods. A tall dark cave with fog spilling out and a wreath hanging on a dead bush appear. Then Geoff announces the first trailer of the night and I have no idea what it could be.

My heart begins to race at the first sign of seeing leaves being ignited by hand with magic. About a minute goes by and I hear someone say, “A witcher?” My heart races faster as it’s revealed to be the voice of an older Ciri. I let out a loud shriek and exclaim “My girl is all grown up!”

Tossing all my coins to this Witcher

We get to witness what seem to be a few new weapons and mechanics that only Ciri can preform as the new Witcher. Things like using actual spells instead of glyphs, chains that can have magic chained through it. The trailer shows us Ciri can now consume Witcher potions without dying straight away. With how much time has passed, it seems that monster still run rampant, pretending to be gods. Yet, the question remains, are we still in our own homeland or even our own universe?

Safe to say I’m all in and cannot wait to find out more about The Witcher 4! And in case you missed it, watch the official trailer below.
