Dice Legacy: Corrupted Fates PC Review

Dice Legacy: Corrupted Fates is the first DLC for DESTINYbit's dice-based city builder Dice Legacy. I originally took a look at Dice Legacy on PC back in September. You can check out that review here. The new DLC is available now for PC and Nintendo Switch. Let the Occult Preside in Corrupted Fates It's always a great feeling when new expansions come out for your favorite board and video games. Even more so when you least expect it. I had no idea that Dice Legacy had a DLC in the works but couldn't pass up the opportunity to check out Corrupted Fates. I love when games add more content! Gameplay Since Dice Legacy: Corrupted Fates is an addition to the base game we'll just go over what's new rather than rehashing what has already been covered. The primary feature of Corrupted Fates ...

One Military Camp Preview

One Military Camp by devs Abylight Barcelona, is a single-player strategy management game that sees you construct and manage your own army base. Currently in private demo I was lucky enough to get a taster of what is to come. One Military Camp - A Regimented Two Point Hospital? This game certainly intrigues me as it appears to draw on some aspects of my favourite games. If you like what you see, feel free to join our social channels! Gameplay The timed demo of One Military Camp is very short and brief however you can get a feel of the type of game that is unfolding. At its core you need to build and manage your very own military base, however, the elements stretch not only from the construction side but to also recruiting troops and taking them all the way through training and d...

Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires Review

Koei Tecmo is world-renowned for many reasons, Atelier, Dead or Alive, and Nioh are a few of the reasons. However, the other is for the Dynasty Warriors franchise. This year Koei Tecmo has released the latest in the DWE series with Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires. Failure To Plan, Is Planning To Fail I have played numerous games from the "Warriors" franchise, you can check out my Samurai Warriors 5 review here. Some of them have been fantastic and some have fallen weak against some of the previous releases to date. Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires was released in Japan in the December of 2021, and later to the rest of the world on February 15th, 2021, and is available on all current platforms. For the purposes of this review, I played it on the PlayStation 5. So join me as I check out Dyna...

SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters’ Clash Review

When it comes to reviewing ports of old games, it’s important to not fall into the nostalgia trap. Luckily for me, I have none when it comes to SNK vs Capcom: Card Fighters' Clash. I remember seeing screenshots of the game in magazines back in ‘99. I also remember knowing absolutely no one who owned a Neo-Geo Pocket. As such, I merely admired SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash from afar. That’s changed! Get Decked! SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters' Clash is now out on the Switch and it’s time to see if the last 20+ years have been kind to this combative card game. Has it aged better than Match of The Millenium? Do you have nostalgia for this title? Let us know in the comments! Gameplay To start with - I’ll talk about the port itself. To which I’ll say ‘it’s fine. The emulated Neo Geo Poc...

Crossfire: Legion Preview

Developed by Blackbird Interactive (who brought you such games as the Homeworld series) and published by Prime Matter comes Crossfire: Legion. An RTS that is looking to hit you right in the nostalgic feels, as at first glance it seems to be a spiritual successor to the classic Command & Conquer. Crossfire: Legion features some classic tactical action, reminiscent of that of a classic RTS that's in the near future where you have to gather resources, build your base and build your army ready to battle against your foes. Did you know it was a spin-off to Crossfire; an Online FPS that's number 1 in the world with 690 million players and 8 million concurrent users?  I didn't nor have I heard of the game before, but it is mainly based in the Asian market and, it's highly successful on ...

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond Review

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, from developers ILCA for Nintendo, was released in November as the latest Pokémon remake. The original game has always had mixed responses from fans. The pixel art was a thing of beauty, but the Gen4 dex was underwhelming. Still, there was plenty of excitement at another Pokémon getting remade to modern standards for the Nintendo Switch. Remakes of classic games are a tricky thing – do you just update the graphics, or do you also make some little improvements to the general gameplay and story? We saw with Lets Go! Pikachu/Eevee that the update in graphics was wonderful. Seeing wild Pokémon walking around instead of random spawns was an upgrade I never knew I needed. The mechanics like throwing a ball to catch a Pokémon though became quite tedious and the old-s...

Fantasy Town Regional Manager Review

Fantasy Town Regional Manager (FTRM) is a town builder sim developed and published by Caps Collective. Caps Collective are an Australian company with FTRM as their debut game available now on PC. Set in a fantasy world, the town and people are plagued by various monsters and potential disasters. As your town expands however you will gather more residents and adventurers to avert these disasters. Each day brings new challenges and so new choices from focussing resources to diplomatic decisions with the goal of literally avoiding ruin.
