Warhammer 40,000: Darktide – PC Review

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is the latest offering from game developers Fatshark released on 30th November 2022. The devs have had success previously with best-selling and award-winning Vermintide. Here however you are flung into a dystopian world full of corruption and war. The game sees you take the role of a repurposed prison escapee thrown into serving the army, who are fighting off a heretical cult known as the Admonition. STOP.....HAMMER TIME! Warhammer 40,000: Darktide's main feature is teaming up with others to work together in a multiplayer co-op style of gameplay. I find myself gravitating towards this style of gameplay. I love where games feature a more co-op style of gameplay as opposed to the PVP games such as Warzone. Do you enjoy co-op games like this? If so, leave a commen...

Land Of The Vikings – PC Review

Developed by Laps Games and published by Iceberg Interactive comes Land of the Vikings.  It's a Survival Strategy game, very reminiscent of Banished, another top quality survival strategy game. Land of the Vikings sees you lead your tribe to other inhibited lands trying to make a settlement whilst tackling all sorts of obstacles along the way, such as harsh winters and lack of food. Skál! Check out my video review below! https://youtu.be/cqn82Vu2TJY   Final Thoughts When starting out you may have thought Land of the Vikings was a Banished Clone, it's not at all.  Yes it shares some resemblances including (and mentioned in the Video) the music, the game itself isn't. It has a really nice UI, some good quick keys to use and easy access to those building tools.  I can see...

I donned my ten-gallon and spurs and headed in to the old wild west to try and make a living in a saloon. Don't forget to check out the other reviews on the site and join in the discussion over on our community Discord! Gameplay Deadwater Saloon, as like many Sim games, starts off by creating your character and while you see your usual Name, Sex and Location, You get to select predefined attributes that set them up in a particular ...

Distant Worlds 2 – PC Review

Distant Worlds 2 released on PC on March 10th. This is the second game in the 4x space strategy series by Code Force (Distant Worlds: Universe) with publishing by Slitherine Ltd. (Battlestar Galactica Deadlock, Command). It is only available via Steam for Windows PC. Options as Vast as Space in Distant Worlds 2 The 4x strategy genre has not had a huge role in my time as a gamer. Though my Steam library is full of them with the likes of Stellaris, Endless Legend and Endless Space 2, and Civilization VI and Civilization: Beyond Earth; my cumulative time is probably less than five hours. Distant Worlds 2 stood out to me as an alternative to Stellaris so I thought I would take a look. Have you ever had a similar experience where something you usually don't play catches your eye? Let me know ...

The Hand Of Merlin – Xbox One Review

Developed by Room C Games, Croteam and published by Versus Evil. The Hand of Merlin is a turn-based RPG set in Arthurian times. It was released on Xbox One, Series S/X, Playstation 4/5, Nintendo Switch and PC on the 14th of June 2022. The Hand of Merlin - Marvelous Enough To Make A King Proud If there is one genre I love when it comes to gaming, it has to be tactical turn-based RPGs. I could play these kinds of games all day which also makes me very sceptical when a new one is released because it is either very good or very bad. There's no in-between, but having characters from the age of Merlin was too good to pass up. If you enjoyed this review then you can check out my previous one here. Dune: Spice Wars PC Preview

From the Publishers and Developers of Northgard, Shiro Games comes Dune: Spice Wars for PC. Dune: Spice Wars is a 4X real-time strategy set in Frank Herbert’s Dune universe, where spice is the most valuable resource. This game pique my interest as I really liked Northgard, so I was only expecting good things from Dune: Spice Wars.  It's currently available on PC via Steam, but it's still in early access, but the Official Dune Discord server is stacked full of up-to-date developments of the game. The mystery of life isn’t a problem to solve, but a reality to experience. Frank Herbert With my Love of RTSs (Looking at you C&C), I was really looking forward to what Shiro Games had in store for me. Gameplay For a game in early access, I was very impressed with the options availabl...

King Arthur: Knight’s Tale PC Review

King Arthur: Knight's Tale is now out of Early Access and available on Steam. Developed and published by NeocoreGames (Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor), it is a turn-based tactical game blended with character-centric RPG gameplay. Read on to learn more about this latest game from a veteran studio. Life After Death in Camelot is Darker than Expected Something about Medieval times has always had my interest. I'm not a hardcore historian of the times, I just have always found it fascinating how the world once was. But alongside the history books are the books of mythology. Some clearly with many elaborations but others are a bit closer to fact than to fiction. King Arthur: Knight's Tale puts a new twist on what I would consider one of the better-known tales o...

Rogue Lords Review

Developed by Leikir Studio, Cyanide and published by Nacon and BigBen Entertainment. Rouge Lords is a roguelike, strategy, turn-based video game. It was first released on the PC in September 2021. It was then ported to the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Xbox One being released on the 28th of April 2022. Let's get down with the devil in this Rogue Lords review. Rogue Lords - Better The Devil You Know Roguelike, strategy, turn-based combat and just a smidgen of RPG elements. This sounds like the perfect video game on paper but what is seen is not always to be believed. The only way to find out is to keep carrying on reading. Cities: VR Review

Cities: Skylines has been around since 2015. It is in effect a highly polished version of Maxis' Sim City. When an opportunity to review Cities: VR by Fast Travel Games presented itself, I couldn't help but raise my hand and take it on. Cities: VR - Building in the Palm of Your Hand! Having been a fan since I was a lad of city builder games and also owning an Oculus Quest 2, would the transition to VR be a satisfying and fun experience? Gameplay To those of you new to the Cities series of games, Cities: VR is a single-player city-building and management game. You get to design your own city from a blank canvas and are in full control from the moment you start building roads and zoning areas to build either residential, commercial or industrial premises. All of the infrastructure is...
