Blood Bowl III – PC Review

From Nacon publishing comes the next entry, Blood Bowl III, created by Cyanide Studios. Released on February 23rd this year, players get another shot at taking their teams to the top. You can pick up this strategy-RPG game on Xbox and PlayStation for £34.99 with the Brutal Edition for £49.99 or grab it on Steam for £24.99. A Switch port is currently in development, with a release planned sometime this year. All's fair in blood and Waaaagh! I was never good at sports games like Madden, Fifa or PGA tour. But I am good at a few strategy games, so Blood Bowl looked like my shot at being good at some sports without actually being good at them. A mixture of the NFL and Warhammer franchise, I look forward to bashing some skulls in with Da Boiz. Gameplay Players can choose to play either o...

The Art of War: Card Game – PC Preview

The Art of War: Card Game is the newest release from publisher and developer Brightdawn Entertainment (A Walk in the Woods VR). It is a non-collectable deck builder card game set in a fantasy world with Game of thrones style machinations. I immediately felt the similarities to Gwent: The Witcher Card Game so I wasn't surprised when Brightdawn cited Gwent as inspiration. As well as bringing what they felt the genre was missing and a social game like Gwent, Magic: The Gathering or Yu-Gi-Oh! The Art of War is available now on PC but still in early access. There is also the upcoming tabletop version later in 2023. Sun Tzu who? There's a new The Art of War in town I'd love to hear what anyone of you think of The Art of War: Card Game so feel free to comment below. Gameplay The Art of Wa...

This Land is My Land – PC Review

After the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 which showcased settlers in the untamed lands that went on to be the USA, some gamers wanted a Native Indian's take on that time of turmoil. The game developers, Game-Labs, set about creating just that with This Land is My Land, a game full of beautiful scenery and wilderness, aimed at survival and growth. We got a chance to get our hands on the game recently. All of this Land is Yours - Take it! I was drawn into playing This Land is My Land after seeing the trailer. The graphics looked great and the concept of a strategy/survival game based on Native Indians intrigued me. If you love a good survival, let us know in the comments your favourites. Gameplay From the off, in the main menu, the game gives you the option to start a resistance ra...

Toy Soldiers HD – Switch Review

Released on Nintendo Switch NYE '22, Toy Soldiers HD is an overhaul of the easily recognisable 2010 tower defense game by Signal Studios. Published by Accelerate Games, Toy Soldiers HD supports handheld, tabletop and TV mode. Toy Soldiers HD - Construct your Defences Carefully I was a big fan of Toy Soldiers: War Chest back in the Xbox 360 days however I haven't had the pleasure of playing an HD version of Toy Soldiers so far or on the Nintendo Switch. Let's get the band playing and move onto the battlefield! Gameplay There is something quite nostalgic when it comes to the Toy Soldiers franchise. Admittedly I have been so busy that there have been some old classics that I have simply forgotten to go back to.  As Toy Soldiers HD loads you are greeted by a haunting male voice accompa...

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide – PC Review

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is the latest offering from game developers Fatshark released on 30th November 2022. The devs have had success previously with best-selling and award-winning Vermintide. Here however you are flung into a dystopian world full of corruption and war. The game sees you take the role of a repurposed prison escapee thrown into serving the army, who are fighting off a heretical cult known as the Admonition. STOP.....HAMMER TIME! Warhammer 40,000: Darktide's main feature is teaming up with others to work together in a multiplayer co-op style of gameplay. I find myself gravitating towards this style of gameplay. I love where games feature a more co-op style of gameplay as opposed to the PVP games such as Warzone. Do you enjoy co-op games like this? If so, leave a commen...

Land Of The Vikings – PC Review

Developed by Laps Games and published by Iceberg Interactive comes Land of the Vikings.  It's a Survival Strategy game, very reminiscent of Banished, another top quality survival strategy game. Land of the Vikings sees you lead your tribe to other inhibited lands trying to make a settlement whilst tackling all sorts of obstacles along the way, such as harsh winters and lack of food. Skál! Check out my video review below! https://youtu.be/cqn82Vu2TJY   Final Thoughts When starting out you may have thought Land of the Vikings was a Banished Clone, it's not at all.  Yes it shares some resemblances including (and mentioned in the Video) the music, the game itself isn't. It has a really nice UI, some good quick keys to use and easy access to those building tools.  I can see...
