Syberia Remastered – PS5 Review

Syberia, originally released in 2002, is a cult classic. The brainchild of the late Belgian comic artist Benoit Sokal, it combines steampunk and Art-Nouveau aesthetics with melancholic storytelling. 23 years later, Microids Paris and Virtuallyz Gaming present Syberia Remastered, launched on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on 6th November 2025. This was my first time playing the series as a whole. However I've played a click and point game before so I'm going to give it everything I've got. The remaster promises updated visuals, modern controls, and a few reworked puzzles. Does it live up to the hype, or is it just a dusty classic with a fresh coat of paint? A Journey of Rust and Snow In Syberia Remastered, you control Kate Walker, an American lawyer sent to the fictional town of Valadilè...

Dispatch – PC Review

Dispatch is an Action, Adventure Indie game produced and developed by AdHoc Studio. After reading Paul's preview article of the game, I was first drawn to Dispatch because of the art style and dialog. It gave me that old school nostalgia I feel for TellTale Games, especially when it game to the game's  humour and dialog choices. Imagine my surprise when I did research on the team that I find out they were ex Telltale employees. It must have been the best of the best because holy mother of ducks was my experience with Dispatch amazing. So, who do you believe is the best choice to go after? Invisagal or Blonde Blazer? As someone who loves and replays the classic Telltale games like Sam n' Max, The Wolf Among Us, and others. Dispatch did scratch my Telltale games itch that finally got scrat...

The Last Caretaker – PC Early Access Preview

The Last Caretaker is a first-person crafting survival game by developers Channel37. Embark upon a voyage on the vast planet-wide ocean while searching for clues to restore humanity. Explore, craft, and survive against rogue robots and a corruption spread across everything. The game is available starting November 6ths on Steam and the Epic Games store, with a later date planned for consoles. Last and Lonely Caretaker There have been so many survival crafting games over the past ten years or so that I've lost count. Too many involve zombies. Even more involve some facet of PvP as a core mechanic. But The Last Caretaker looks a bit different. A bit less jumpy and much more inquisitive. So what are my thoughts on the game as it hits early access? Check them out below. Gameplay The Las...

Simon the Sorcerer Origins – PC Review

Being a complete point-and-click adventure and pixel art nut, the first two Simon the Sorcerer games are very close to my heart. And with the three sequels that followed leaving a considerable amount to be desired, it seemed as though the series was long forgotten. Enter Simon the Sorcerer Origins by newcomers Smallthing Studios, available on Steam. Opting for a prequel rather than a sequel/reboot, Origins claims to go back to what Simon the Sorcerer does best with comical puzzles, British banter and fourth wall breaks. Is it fourth time's the charm for a worthy series addition and in line with its 30th anniversary? I had to find out! Have We Met Before? Set weeks before the events of the first game, Simon and his family have moved house after his expulsion from yet another school. Wh...

Bounty Star – PC Review

Bounty Star is a 3rd person action game with a blend of mech combat and homesteading. Developed by DINOGOD with publishing by Annapurna Interactive (Stray, Neon White), it is available now on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. You can also pick it up for PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, or Game Pass. Not Quite Trucking in Bounty Star I feel like I really missed out on getting into the whole mech genre. Not only in gaming but elsewhere. I read a few RoboTech (I think?) books back in my early days. But I never got into Mechwarrior or Gundam or the like. Honestly think games like Armored Core look awesome but never get myself to check them out. I saw Bounty Star coming up though and decided to take a look. Check out my thoughts below. Gameplay Bounty Star is a 3rd person action game. Right at ...

GODBREAKERS – PC Review

GODBREAKERS is a 3rd Person action roguelite by developer To The Sky. This single to four-player co-op adventure is their debut game with publishing from Thunderful Publishing (Steamworld Heist II, Viewfinder). It is now available on PC via the Steam and Epic Games stores, as well as on PlayStation 5. Oh, the Humanity! Or Lack Thereof in GODBREAKERS I had to check out GODBREAKERS because I seem to really enjoy roguelite mechanics. It's also pretty shiny. Add to that an interesting bit of story and the hooks were set. The more I play the game, the more I appreciate different parts of it. Let me know if you've ever found yourself thinking the same of a different game each time you play. For now, check out my thoughts on this new release below. Gameplay GODBREAKERS is a fast-paced,...

Borderlands 4 – PS5 Review

Borderlands returns! Whilst this comes as no surprise, seeing as though the game has been out for a little while. It was greeted with much excitement amongst the Borderlands loving members of the Thumb Culture team. Although there was some trepidation hidden in the darkness. Well, Borderlands 4 has finally been released and if you know me, you know that I am a big fan of the franchise. Does Gearbox live up to my expectations, though? Let’s find out! GEARRRBOOOOOOOXXXX So, all installed on the PlayStation 5 and away we go, straight into the generally expected character creation screen. I’m excited! Gameplay The game starts out with the normal over the top introduction sequence, we get introduced to our playable characters and a few other people we are going to come up against on our ...

Arctic Awakening – PC Review

If you're looking for a new story rich, narrative game, then you may have been looking at Arctic Awakening on Steam. The game is created and self-published by GoldFire Studios, and has us play as Kai, a pilot who crash lands with his companion therapy bot Alfie. We can expect to make hard choice and survive harsher weathers. You can survive anything with the right mindset. Arctic Awakening is out now on Steam, with an introductory 10% off until 25th September. Have you been keeping an eye on this game, if so, let me know in the comments below. Gameplay Arctic Awakening is at its core a walking simulator game. Players are able to pick up items, but besides food to stave off hunger, there isn't much need for carrying anything. Which is a shame since you can pick up almost everything ...

Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids – PC Review

Chip 'n Clawz vs. The Brainiods is a new 3rd person strategy action game by the creator of X-COM, Julian Gollop, and Snapshot Games (Phoenix Point). With publishing by Arc Games (Remnant II, Torchlight 3), play solo or with a friend to save the planet's supply of Brainium from the invading Brainiods. You can pick it up today for PC via Steam or Epic, PS5 or Xbox. Today I'm taking a look at the PC version which is £25 on Steam. Meet Your Next Comedic Gaming Duo: Chip 'n Clawz! Duos seem to be a common theme in 3d action platformers. The obvious and most direct comparison here would be between Chip 'n Clawz vs. The Brainioids and the well-known Ratchet & Clank series. Both feature a humanoid and their robot sidekick with a world to save. Regardless of similarities though, the trailer c...
