Destiny 2 Update – Onslaught and Pantheon

Guardian Onslaughts I have been playing the new game mode Onslaught in Destiny 2 and boy do I have a lot to say about this game mode. I truly believe this game mode is a godsend to help bring life into the game. A well-placed tower defense that has us fight either a group of Fallen or Hive that I have to say...are downright evil! Especially the Hive with their Wizards, Shriekers and Ogres can all go suck on lemons for their broken ways. But, I'll talk more about this later and talk about the game mode a bit more. There are a lot of things that people figure out when dealing with the game mode, especially with the batteries. The batteries have more use than to help recharge the shield for the ADU. You can repair the defense you have. That being the decoys, turrets and the trip mines. Th...

Little Kitty, Big City – PC Review

Using one of my nine lives, I recently took a tumble into Double Dagger Studios' debut release, Little Kitty, Big City. A platformer and puzzle game released on the 9th of May on PC. It's also available on Xbox Game Pass to anyone with a valid membership. Will You Land On Your Feet? A cosy and relaxing game, with an abundance of mischief. It will not be long until you snigger at destroying a copious amount of plant pots. Gameplay Your adventure begins with a very cute kitty enjoying a nap in the brisk sunshine. However, it doesn't take long until that is rudely interrupted. Next thing you know, you are catching a ride with a crow! Unfortunately for this kitty, your apartment, where you were just sleeping, is not easy to get to. Therefore making it your main mission to return the kitty ...

Harold Halibut – PC Review

I recently took a dive into uncharted waters to take a closer look at Harold Halibut, a narrative-driven story game released on the 16th of April on all platforms. It's also available on Xbox Game pass to download for anyone with a membership. The developer, Slow Bros, has gone above and beyond crafting this game using a mix of Claymation and digital effects. Take an underwater journey with me as I see what's under the surface of this interesting-looking game. A QUIRKY GAME WITH HEART AND SOLE Nothing beats a cozy, chill story game with an abundance of great narrative and interesting characters. There are so many out there too and over the years I've spent many an hour getting lost in them. What are your favourite narrative adventures and what draws you to them? This game excel...

Aarik And The Ruined Kingdom – PC Preview

Set to release on June 20th, Aarik and the Ruined Kingdom is indie developer Shatterproof's first release. New perspectives on old favourites... As the perfect addition to the library of fans of Evo Explores and Monument Valley, the game combines simple yet beautiful graphics and perspective puzzles to build a mystic world and story filled with intrigue perfect for puzzle fans. Gameplay The demo of Aarik and the Ruined Kingdom is short yet packs a punch. With an introduction to Aarik, as well as his father, old pet and mother, the mystery of the story is present from the get go. The kingdom is already in ruin but there is not explanation for why it's so quiet, why Derek (Aarik's old pet) is dead and why his father refuses to wake up and get out of bed. The controls for the g...

South Park: Snow Day! – PS5 Review

I got to check out South Park: Snow Day, the next addition where we'll play as the "New Kid" as Cartman pulls us into another game. Thanks to the developers at Question, you and three other New Kids will team up together and face off against Elves, Marshwalkers and Sixth Graders. The game releases for PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam on March 26th for £24.99. Goin' down to South Park, gonna have myself a time. I've enjoyed the last two South Park games and was happy to hear of this one. It's interesting to see them take a different approach with the multiplayer and hack-n-slash gameplay, but it never hurts to try new ideas. As a disclaimer, I'll be using curse words in this article and maybe a reference or two from the show. Better context for the story. I won't be talking about South ...

Outcast A New Beginning – PC Review

Outcast: A New Beginning is a new 3rd-person, open world adventure sequel to the original Outcast from 1999. Developed by Appeal Studios (Outcast – Second Contact, Gangs of Sherwood) with publishing by THQ Nordic (a lot of games), the game returns Cutter Slade to the world of Adelpha to defend the Talans from an invading force. Launched on March 15th 2024, the game is available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Original Developers, Original Feels? There's usually something special about original developers returning to the setting of one of their original games. And I don't mean just to do an expansion or DLC or direct sequel to a game within a few years of the first. In this case, it's been well over 20 years since the first Outcast game hit the market. Can ...

Please, Touch the Artwork 2 – PC Review

Please, Touch the Artwork 2 is a point-and-click puzzle game from Belgian solo game developer Thomas Waterzooi. He has been involved in past game projects such as Divinity Original Sin and Hitman. Made in only six months, the game follows on from its predecessor with graphical improvements throughout. The game released on 19th February 2024 on PC and mobile. Tactile Tactics and Painty Pointers The game revolves around paintings, namely paintings of iconic Belgian painter James Ensor whose works featured expressionism and surrealism. It is a way for us to interact with his paintings, giving a more comprehensive look at them and discovering his creative works.  Gameplay What better way to appreciate art than to be inside art. From the off, I noted the pointer has become a long sk...
