Atomfall Exclusive Preview

Unless you've been living under a large rock you will have heard of Atomfall, the latest game coming soon from Rebellion. The game is set five years after the Windscale nuclear disaster in Northern England. Inspired by the real-life event.  You have to explore the quarantine zone, barter with people as well as survive to find out just what is going on. Follow The Leads We were incredibly fortunate to be invited to a special press screening and playtest recently. This is what we experienced. Playtest So, a number of other members of the gaming press were introduced to the game through a short presentation by one of the developers. Once that was all done, we were invited to control a PC running Atomfall remotely. Starting my game a bit further into the game than perhaps I should have....

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii – PC Review

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is an Action, Adventure, RPG from the great Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. They have developed the entire Yakuza series which has recently been renamed the Like a Dragon series. Their publisher, SEGA has been by their side since the very beginning and has made this series great. I honestly feel like Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio saw that the pirate genre was slowly sinking into the water and said "hold my grog." No matter where and no matter when, Mad Dog Goro Majima is having chaotic fun again. This series has always been a great time when it comes to it's gameplay, mini-games and mechanics. Getting to go back to the original combat system feels right. And it seems that SEGA learned their lesson about paying for New Game +, since that isn't in this game at all. So, ...

Tomb Raider IV – VI Remastered – PS5 Review

The only thing I wanted after reviewing the Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered Trilogy was a remaster of 4-6. Apsyr apparently heard my prayers and have finally remastered the finale of the original Lara plot as well as Angel of Darkness.  Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered brings back The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider 5 and Angel of Darkness to modern consoles. Controversially, Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness is one of my favourite games and Tomb Raider IV was the first game I ever finished on my own so there was a lot of nostalgia wrapped up in these games. When the games were announced I pre-ordered immediately but was it worth it? Or did the remaster not hit the mark the same way these games originally did? I don't count poison darts and triggered entombment your average child's tea party You can...

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Tape 1 – PS5 Review

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Tape 1 is from Don't Nod, the original creators of Life Is Strange. The story unfolds across timelines, with the first placing you firmly in the summer of 1995, when Batman Forever played in cinemas and Oasis headlined Glastonbury. The second takes you to a modern setting in 2022. The developers released the game on 18th February 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and Windows. Nearly 30 years have passed since protagonist Swann Holloway last saw the rest of the friendship group, Bloom & Rage. In the modern-day setting, which shifts to a first-person perspective compared to the past’s third-person view, The mystery begins with a box addressed to the group with no idea who sent it. Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip – PS5 Review

Terry has finally made his way onto PlayStation in his comical adventure, Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip. Originally released on Steam last year (check out our PC review here), Tiny Terry can now cause chaos on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch as of February 13th 2025. Join me as I explore the wacky world of Spranklewater and help Terry achieve his dream of going to space. Terry Tries To Take-Off Terry wants a car to go to space, so he obviously goes to the Job Application Centre to get one. After accepting a job as a taxi driver, purely for the car of course, Terry can begin his mission. This introduction to some characters of Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip immediately sets the tone for the humour and dialogue of the game. If you ever think you know what direction a conversation is going, you can be...

Grandma, No! – PC Demo Preview

Grandma, No! is an Adventure Sandbox is developed by Wallride and published by Super Rare Originals.  Wallride is known for its very fun and chaotic nature if you ever play EleMetals. You should watch their video to see just how chaotic these developers are.  Honestly, what caught my eye about this game is just how limitless I can do something that will break another thing. So, get ready, because I'm going to say chaos/chaotic a lot in this preview review. Grandma is out here with a bottomless watering can and rapid fire toots. What in the Felix the cat thing is going on?! Gameplay I will tell you now, Grandma, No! is a game where your brain should always be off. Don't think, don't worry and just trust your gut with what you do. There is a bit of story happening at the start from what...

DeTechtive 2112 – PC Review

DeTechtive 2112 is a story-driven action adventure that follows a mystery over a unique array of maps. Created by M11 Studio & 5Deniz, and published by Indie.io, DeTechtive 2112 is available now on Steam for £8.74. However, if you want to experience other work by M11 Studio, bundles with previous games may pique your interest. How will you solve the case? The first game of the year for me to review has me taking the role of a detective in the dystopian future of 2112. So let's get into it. Gameplay DeTechtive 2112 begins by introducing you to the protagonist, Detective Matthew Wallace. Instantly you are drawn to the secrets Matthew may be hiding, as he is confronted as soon as the game begins. After collecting back your belongings, you are then thrown into the cases that make y...

Astronomics – PC Early Access Preview

Astronomics is a top-down space mining and exploration game by Numizmatic (Light Fingers). It launched into Early Access on Steam just yesterday i.e. February 10th, 2025. Best Mining Game since Deep Rock I'm always up for a chance to check out a new space or sci-fi game. Especially if they involve mining space rocks like in Astronomics. I wasn't looking for something that felt overly complex like Elite Dangerous or EVE Online. Astronomics caught my eye for looking simple and enjoyable at my own pace. Anything that brings something close to those Stardew Valley vibes, right? Gameplay Astronomics is a casual, yet exciting adventure of asteroid mining. As an employee of Cube Corporation, you'll mine your "claim" in space by landing on space rocks passing through. Do so by gathering al...

Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter – PS5 Review

Following up on the success of Tails of Iron, Manchester based Odd Bug Studio has developed and released a sequel, Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter.  Published by United Label, it was released on 28th January 2025 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series S&X, and Switch. You can read our review of the first game in the series here. Whiskers of Winter by Stuart R.R. Little The story begins with a little history lesson. In the not too distant past, The North had fought a vicious war against the Darkwings, The War of The Rift. Eventually, the warden of Winter's Edge had done enough to win that war, and peace had followed. A long enough peace for the Rats of The North to forget about the Darkwings. Unbeknownst to them, their enemy had been rebuilding strength, and now once a...
