Nobody Saves The World Switch Review

The latest game from Guacamelee 1&2 and Severed developer Drinkbox Studios, Nobody Saves The World is—on the surface at least—a Zelda-inspired, top-down ARPG boasting both online and couch co-op. That’s some good credentials right there, and with the inclusion of the two co-op modes, which are full-blooded experiences, something uncommon in a lot of traditional ARPGs here we should have a guaranteed winner. Available now on every major system. NOBODY SAVES THE WORLD—VARIETY REALLY IS THE SPICE OF LIFE Trailers for Nobody Saves The World promises a lot: an action-intensive experience where you play as different forms—human, animal, monster, and magical characters—all products of a single morphing protagonist. They promise a deep combat system where you can mix and match attacks and...

J’s WASD Gaming Highlights

Last month I was lucky enough to attend London's WASD gaming event with fellow Thumb Culture writer Si at Tobacco Dock, where a whole host of indie devs, and a few larger houses, put their games on display to the public. I do love visiting this venue and have fond memories of when it hosted a bustling but since defunct annual EGX Rezzed. Although I went on a Friday it was certainly a lot quieter than previous times however this could be down to it being a school term as well as some people not wanting to understandably be in places where there can be large crowds. There is certainly something here for everybody, from playable computer games and demos to a whole room dedicated to tabletop puzzles and board games. It certainly made for a good day out! Myself and Si managed to get aroun...

Dark Deity Review

Developed by Sword and Axe and published by Freedom Games. Dark Deity is a tactical role-playing game that was first released on the 15 of June 2021 for the PC. It was later released for the Nintendo Switch on the 17th of March 2022. It's been rumoured to be inspired by the Fire Emblem series so let us find out in this Dark Deity review and find out if that's true. Dark Deity - Fire Emblem Fans Will Love It For as long as I can remember I've always been a fan of RPGs. I still remember the original Final Fantasy being one of the very first games I ever played and also remember it being the hardest game ever. There's something about RPGs that just suck people in. Maybe it's because they can be relaxing and a great way to pass the time. For some, it's also the amazing stories that bring ...

Ghostwire: Tokyo Review

Ghostwire: Tokyo is the new action-adventure from Developer Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks Releasing as a 1 year timed exclusive on Playstation 5 and PC. Ghostwire: Tokyo - Hauntingly Beautiful Originally announced at E3 in June 2019, it caught my attention. Now that I've recovered from my reaction to Avengers EndGame, I can move like Doctor Strange! At least, that was my first reaction. It was not until Microsoft acquired Bethesda in September 2021, that Ghostwire: Tokyo was confirmed to be a timed console exclusive expected to arrive in 2022. This is when that reaction to the game was one of intrigue and a desire to get hands-on with it. That time has arrived and I am on the Playstation 5. Gameplay This first-person action-adventure sees you battle agai...

Hush: Crane – An Interview with Co-Founder Jack Attridge

Breaking down the boundaries of interaction, for me that is where gaming gets interesting. Something a little different from button mashing or learning sequences of moves. Hush: Crane by developers Flavourworks, gives gamers a glimpse of how immersion can reach a new level. Using amazing-looking FMV and an engine known as "TouchVideo", your touch-screen gestures transition to real-world movements and actions. Each decision affects the story and sends you down a unique path. A taster of what is coming can be found for free on the Samsung Galaxy store, just look up "Hush: Crane" or click here. Having played the available episode multiple times, I was amazed at how many different outcomes there were in just the short time I had to play. Running just like you are in a movie, you can pan and...

So let us get on with this Destiny 2: The Witch Queen review. Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Xbox Series X Review Having been a fan of Destiny since it's vanilla days back in 2014. I have always loved playing both games in the franchise. Even if the game can always be a bit of a hit or miss when it comes to new DLC being released. But just like the first Destiny, it took years for a DLC to be released that changed the whole game for the better. Is The Witch Queen the DLC that makes Destiny 2 worth playin...

Edge Of Eternity Xbox Series X Review There isn't a year that goes by without a quote saying "Is this the new Final Fantasy?"
