Coming into this review you may have some questions. What the PuK? Who is the PuK? Why the PuK? All very valid questions. PuK Gaming is a new company here to change the game. Or rather mobile gaming. With new peripherals to make mobile gaming better I was excited to get thumbs on with their first collection. Which is where the PuK PathFinder Bundle comes in. Including the core products of the new PuK Gaming range; the pro-grade Thumbstick, snap-on Triggers, and of course handy ZipCase.

Time For The Thumb Warm-Ups.

Are you a big mobile gamer? What’s your go to game you think would improve with the PuK PathFinder Bundle? Let us know in the comments below.

Small but mighty

TheThumbstick

So what do you get? Firstly, you get the PuK TheThumbstick, with its incredibly strong magnetic anchor connector. As well as a fancy green lid to keep it all nice and clean whilst in your pocket. Then you get a neat little Thumb Sleeve. Not just to keep your thumb warm, this capacitive fashion accessory helps with comfort and accuracy when playing a game. It also means that you can glide easily on your screen.

The wonderful PuK team include an additional stylus if anything was to go wrong with the one installed already. As well as a sticky disk pad for any phone or case that has a slippy rear surface. Perfect if the Anchor isn’t quite gripping how it should.

Design

The functional design of the PuK TheThumbstick is a physical interface of any on-screen joystick. So if your mobile game has an onscreen joystick, then you can use this. It’s a pretty simplistic design, and in practice it works really well. Giving more precise control than if you were to just use your thumb on the screen. The materials used in the construction are incredibly durable as well as ensuring your screen is left blemish-free. So wherever you are, you can snap the thumbstick onto your screen and away you go.

TheTriggers

The second part of the PuK PathFinder Bundle, is the TheTriggers. In the little plastic box were just these. Nothing more, nothing less.

Design

PuK TheTriggers are pretty neat. They are designed to just clip onto your mobile device and, through some great capacitive magic, a press of the button is mirrored on screen. With four buttons in total, these work well and have a satisfying tactile click when you press them in.

The only downside of the triggers was the actual in-game setup. Don’t panic because over on the PuK Gaming website, they have handy setup games for the majority of games you might want to play. Setting up to play Call of Duty Mobile took maybe around 5 minutes, but after that, it’s an absolute game-changer.

Bundle In Action

So, for my gameplay testing, I played a fair amount of Call of Duty Mobile, and I have to say it was incredible. I was generally top of the leaderboard every game. Humble brag. More because of how much accuracy TheThumbstick and TheTriggers gave me. Being able to move around seamlessly, all the time having the aim down sights and fire buttons close to hand, certainly paid of.

I gave Sonic Mania a play, and whilst it is compatible with TheThumbstick, it just felt a little strange on a mobile screen. I prefer to have the tactile press of a directional pad, rather than just lean your finger on a shiny glass screen.

The only downside of these peripherals is the fact that I had to take my phone out of its case to make proper use of the triggers. I currently have an iPhone 16 Pro Max for reference.

No surprise, I came top!

Final Thoughts

When I was first told about the PuK PathFinder Bundle, I was a little dubious. Having not been someone who plays a lot of games on their mobile phone. However, after using these, I am thoroughly converted. Yes, I wish the setup was a little bit quicker with the triggers, but at the end of the day, it only really took a few minutes.

The positive that comes with the bundle is the cost. Retailing on the PuK website for £42.97 (It’s currently on sale at the time of writing for £37.99) it really is a relatively inexpensive way to improve your daily commute gaming time!

The PuK PathFinder Bundle gets the Thumb Culture Gold Award.
