Back in January we broke the news that LEGO had teased a new console set. Now we’re back with the full reveal of this LEGO Game Boy set!

Playing with Brick Power

Before we go into the details of this set, I need you to watch the reveal trailer that LEGO and Nintendo shared. It is rad as hell and full of nostalgia joy.

Nostalgic Nintendo Bricks

Now I know what one of your first questions may be. And don’t worry this is not an undersized set at all. In fact the LEGO Game Boy is built with a scale of near 1:1. Whilst there are no light, sound or display play functions, this doesn’t matter at all. Because this brick-built replica comes with all the features you remember. Including the +Control Pad, A and B Buttons, as well as the SELECT and START buttons. Not forgetting the contrast adjustment and volume dial too.

Looking for more Ninty console nostalgia? The LEGO Game Boy also features a Game Pak slot. But that’s not all. What’s the point of a Game Pak slot without games? That’s right through good old LEGO engineering we will also get interchangeable, brick-built The Legend of ZeldaLink’s Awakening and Super Mario Land Game Boy Game Paks! But you can’t have games without game screens right? The LEGO Game Boy model comes with a choice of lenticular screens; the classic Nintendo start screen or one from either of the interchangeable Game Paks. Packing a lot within a small 421 piece set! Oh and did I mention the buildable display stand this set comes with too?
