Like our PlayStation Plus Games Catalogue update this month, April’s second Game Pass update includes 2 Day One releases. Alongside those, we have a few great indie titles, and the return of one of the best-selling video games of all time. As usual, there are a few titles leaving Game Pass, make sure to check those at the end of the article.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Genre: RPG
Available: April 24 (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S)
Tiers: Ultimate & PC
Each year, The Paintress paints a number, and each year everyone of the age turns to ash. Every year, an expedition sets off with the goal of killing The Paintress to end the cycle. In this stylish turn-based RPG, join voice actors Ben Starr and Jennifer English as their characters set off on Expedition 33. Clair Obscur looks amazing, and appears to have Persona inspired combat menus, which I adore. This brand-new IP is coming Day One to Xbox Game Pass on April 24th. Exciting!
Tempopo
Genre: Rhythm, Puzzle
Longevity: TBD | Achievements: 25
Metacritic: 74 | OpenCritic: TBD
Available: April 17 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Tiers: Ultimate & PC
Lemmings meets Crypt of the Necrodancer in Tempopo rhythm puzzle game from Witch Beam, developers of Unpacking. This is the second game of the month coming to Game Pass. In Tempopo you’ll need to conduct a group of cute critters so they can harmonise and work together to rescue the scattered magical flowers. Alongside the puzzle gameplay, you’ll also be able to adjust the music in the game by synthesising the flowers returned to your garden.
Neon White
Genre: Platforming
Longevity: 10+ | Achievements: 44
Metacritic: 89 | OpenCritic: Mighty
Available: April 16th (Console)
Tiers: Standard, Ultimate, & PC
The critically acclaimed indie parkour speed-platformer, Neon White, joins Game Pass this month. You play as the titular character Neon White, an assassin released from Hell and given a shot at redemption by competing against other assassins. Collect Soul Cards to use as attacks or movement abilities to help Neon fly through levels at breakneck speed. Can you find the quickest shortcuts and earn a place in Heaven?
Grand Theft Auto V
Genre: Shooter, Adventure
Longevity: 30+ | Achievements: 77
Metacritic: 97 | OpenCritic: 92
Available: Now (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Tiers: Standard, Ultimate, & PC
What really needs to be said about Grand Theft Auto V at this point? The second-highest selling video game of all time returns to Game Pass in April to help fans bide their time until the much anticipated sequel launches later this year. Honestly, if you’ve not already played GTAV already, you’re probably not interested in it.
