Gameplay
Catto’s Post Office puts you in the tiny shoes of Catto, a post worker cat who has just woken up on their birthday. Brimming with excitement, Catto leaves their tiny room and greets their boss. There is no mention of any birthday celebration, not even a card! Instead, Catto is immediately set to work delivering packages around the island to his furry friends.

This is essentially where the story stops before you go through rinse and repeat gameplay of delivering a parcel and then collecting the next. Despite the simplistic nature, I did have a good time playing this short game. The best way to describe it is as a child-friendly, easier version of Lake by Gamious. There isn’t much depth to the story, and it kind of disappears in the middle until you finish your post rounds.
It is a heartwarming little adventure with opportunities to explore the small island and meet all the cats in the area. It is short, however with a £4.29 price point you definitely get enough bang for your buck.
Steam Deck Compatibility
Catto runs perfectly on the Steam Deck. The mapping is perfect and doesn’t require any community input. I played this entire game through in one short sitting on the Steam Deck.
Graphics & Audio
Cosy and cute is the best way to describe Catto’s Post Office. With simplistic graphics and cute little faces on each and every cat, it provides a welcoming atmosphere that you can’t help but smile at. Even tiny moments that have no real effect on the gameplay showcase how cute this game is.

Longevity
Catto’s Post Office is a very short game. It’s the perfect length for introducing younger children to gaming, especially if you’re playing on the Steam Deck. Even if you are going to collect all the achievements, with such a small map it isn’t hard to find all the hidden duckies. The short length does mean that you can pick it up and play when you want something simple and cosy to play. I do think that there could have been more to it. Even just a bit more story, or something post the ending.
Final Thoughts
Catto’s Post Office is a cute adventure that could do much more if time allowed. This game would have been a platinum for me if there was just a bit more to it. That, by no means, is me saying this game is bad. It was a really cute little break from horror and games where you need to be able to think before you can do anything. Sometimes all you need is a short game to take a breather, and this game is perfect for that. More than anything, I just want to play more of it! I’m giving Catto’s Post Office the Thumb Culture Gold Award — a game definitely worth its price point!
