0 Recently at Gamescom in Cologne Germany, a new trailer debuted showing new footage from Alan Wake 2.
Trapped In His Own Nightmare – Alan Wake 2
Game director Sam Lake was on stage at Gamescom 2023 Opening Night Live to present a new trailer for the survival horror sequel Alan Wake 2. Previously back at Summer Games Fest, gameplay footage was shown of the secondary playable character Saga Anderson in action.
This time around it was time to see footage of gameplay featuring the title character Alan Wake himself.
Anticipated Sequel
While this is a sequel, it is developer Remedy Entertainment’s first time tackling a game in the Survival Horror genre. It features two playable characters, two realities, and one horror story that wants both of them dead. Players will be able to experience both sides of the story simultaneously by switching which character they are playing as
The game is set to be released on October 27th, 2023, and looks to be an epic follow-up to the 2010 original. The recent Remaster was included on the PS Plus monthly games for July. While it’s not necessary to play the first game to enjoy the sequel, there are tonnes of lore and connections to be discovered by returning fans.
Similarly, fans of Remedy’s game Control will have a more complete experience as both games share a connected universe. Control: Ultimate Edition was also included in PS Plus back in Feb 2021.
At launch, it will come to PC (via Epic Games), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
